I always wonder how much weight the tank lost after all because of the rust that they removed but didnt replace with new metal. I know relative to the total weight of the tank its a stupid question. Still, i want to know.

t54/55; most produced tank ever. 100,000 made. Bet they could have bought a fully working model much cheaper than what it's costing them to rebuild/restore/refabricate a wreck. Still, fun to watch.
@@newerend2486 Nowadays, at the end of the videos, they make an English summary, so you can understand what they have done and talked about in the video.
For those wondering why so much rust, here's a very likely reason. First of all, this came from a desert, in a desert, there's a lot of sand, sand is evil, it's coarse, and it gets everywhere. So less lubrication and most seals get chewed up by said sand. Second of all, this went to UK, which every person who went to school knows is at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean (they like to think they aren't but let's be honest, there's so much rain, that it's a mood, not a theme). By the power of these two combined, this tank had no chance, especially since it wasn't made in Russia, where they soak the metal in vodka, which is a rust inhibitor, among other things. So there you have it.

Its kinda surprising to see much of the tech and instruments on the inside being labeleld in English, since its a Iraqi tank, built in China and exported. One would assume they would have changed it to Arabic prints.
Dirk, Goggles buddy. I am 72 and going blind because I refused to wear them when welding. Save those pretty eyes!
Good advice. Like so that they see this!
