Its also the only Manufacturer so far that continues to perfect or at the very least improve the product.
I love my 2017. I actually like the rad in the front and I like the standard gearing for the dunes. I’m 45 years old and I don’t need to be the “fastest” in a straight line anymore. (It still hauls)! The YXZ is built solid, revs to 11 grand, has a gear transmission, super reliable, is so comfortable and the forward visibility is second to none! Yes, “I’m a YXZ “fanboy”...
👍
I completely agree! I been a Polaris fan since 1998, had them all from ATV, Ranger and both a 800 and 900 RZR, was about to get a 1000XP when the YXZ released and when I seen it had a manual transmission I was sold even being brand loyal to Polaris, I'm now on my second YXZ with over 4000 trouble free miles and it's hard beat down miles, I'm 46 years old 6'4" 220 pounds and I can ride over 200 miles in a day at the dunes and never get tired! Love the YXZ!
Greg Corkern Sweet! Visit my channel and see if you like it...I’m dropping another video tonight...
How is the YXZ as far as a crawler, slower going over rough terrain?
Tracy Griffin It’s definitely not a “crawler” but I make it around the AZ desert when I’m not at the dunes. I made some videos about slow crawling the YXZ. Go check them out...
YXZ got more than just a radiator relocation, it also got a gear reduction starting in 2019. If I’m remembering correctly it was 14% for 1st gear then 7% for all the rest. Makes it a much better trail buggy for us deep woods riders!
AppalachianMountainRiders You're correct, tire size also went from 27s to 29 inches tall, got larger brakes, and the motor is much stronger with beefed up rods which can take more boost. Overall a completely changed machine from years past, not just a "rad relocation".
What I love the most about the YXZ after owning one is I never get bored of driving it, to me it is the most fun and reliable UTV on the planet to drive! Yes it not the fastest but when you can ride over 400 miles in 3 days with only gas that's saying something.
I actually preferred the rad in the front. The heat was never unbearable for me and felt nice on those cold winter rides. When it did get too hot I just pounded shifts naked. I owned a 16 yxz until this last summer. While the 19 and newer yxzs are much improved and still very fun I just couldn't deny the turbo power of my X3 at the dunes. Fun times..... Lots of good machines out there
Lol!
So the motor upgrades(for the turbo upgrade), lower gears in low range, larger tires and the cage change are "mechanically unchanged"?
Exactly!
Yea unfortunately they missed the changes here and there are a lot Shame since they're usually on the ball. That's why you have to check out the different publications and research yourself if you really want to know!
right. this is a big miss.
Cant wait for the 1000 or even the wolverine motor to go into the ATV way overdo but then again the 700 is bullet proof
When you need a tablet in your driving cockpit....means you should ride in the backseat of a minivan. Probably in a booster seat.
That cracked me up, thanks
@@tomthorne7347 here all day.
Try the veal.
Jord A. That made my burst out laughing 😆
@@MeanGeneSanDiego if you're not wired like a chick you won't get lost.
Lol true
I love this machine. Just needs a true low range.
The radiator got moved it got better brakes I think the charging system was upgraded and Gearing was lowered, also I think the diffs got beefier
iam buying my second yxz trust me they are a blast and the most well built machine out there I could buy x3 or razor but they rattle apart and yes they do hold a candle to the turbo rigs as far as fun factor goes trust me just drive one then drive the others sorry Luke
It’s the only true sport utv ,nothing is close the the feel!
Can am's motor dosen't make more power witout a turbo. I think you meant to say the non intercooled turbo engine makes more horsepower at 120. And it only has a few more horsepower dispite the fact it has a turbo. Can am's 1000cc only makes 100hp Yamaha's 1000cc makes 112-115 hp.
The n/a version of that 900 ace engine makes about 90hp. Still a nice engine. I have one in my snowmobile. That engine should be in there mav trail and sport.
My wife has the 120hp version. My 17 ss smokes it in a straight line. No matter what your in the market for all these pure sport machines are killer. But love banging gears in the yamaha
@@thomasblais3612 I have 17 SS and I love driving it I have two kids now I'm in the market for another one but I need it for seater.
Everyone I ride with has Polaris and they're always having problems I just don't know what to get in a four seater
@@danpmatz the can am is pretty solid so far. It gets driven pretty hard and it seems to be holding up. Has alot more rattles and clunks when your driving compared to the yammy. Fit and finish is not as good than the Japanese machines. Honda talon has a four seater
Great vid man merry Christmas everybody
I have a 2023 , the thing rips
Look at the Polaris and can ams, everytime we go out, they breakdown everytime. The only bikes that don't have issues are the yamaha bikes.
They already have the turbo as an accessory. I say come out with 2 new trims
Yxz1000T- turbo, pretty self explanatory. Would put it on par with most other turbo machines.
Yxz1000P- leaves the factory will ALL yamaha gtyr performance accessories. Building it that way from the start would significantly reduce cost, as you wouldn't have to pay a dealer labor to tear part and rebuild the engine, or spend all that time doing it yourself. It would still be the most expensive sxs on the market, but nothing any manufacturer offers at the moment would be able to come close to the hp that thing would produce.
It needs a hi/lo range gearbox from the factory!
2022...yxz1000 SS R-1 Would be great! Or a sidewinder turbo swap👌
No Adventure Pro? That's a good thing if you already have one. Don't need 2.
If they uprade the power plant and offer a 4 seater option i feel like they will sell more... I always buy yamaha but having a family i gotta go with the competition. Plenty of moms and dads out there wanting performance plus the ability to take their kids with them
The YXZ is the best sXs.
It sure is!
another great video guys !
There ready for new updated body style. A turbo from factory on The machine and high and Low range
better susp geo for the rear would be welcome as well
Honestly if they just reworked the shock angles to be more like the rmax the ride would be smoother and they should put the rmax engine mated to the same manual transmission the yxz has now. Lots more bottom end torque with a manual would be sweet
Say what you will I have driven them all and when I comes down to BANG FOR THE BUCK Yamaha is the clear winner, and if ya don't know how to shift stay on the porch, I hate CTV crap belts.
Lol 👍
Lol agree
Love it, that's again guys! 👍👍
Saying you need to move the seat forward doesn't tell us much. How tall are you? I'm 6'6" and room is always a big issue for me.
Luke's about 6'2".
Put that engine in the Grizzly.
That would be badass but would never ever happen it has 179 hp and it’s to big and unsafe
Oops 179 is the turbocharged one but still
Lol that would be crazy
Where were you riding in this video
Why the fox 2.5 podium x2 is not available on the 2020 yxz
Are the fox 2.5 podium rc2 is a better shock then the x2 ???
Yes. Only the special editions had the better shocks, now all of then have the upgraded shocks, even the base
3 rzr , can am and honda disliked the video
Why doesn’t it come with a turbo yet?
Factory turbo would be awesome.
It does for 5500, which gets u closer to can am price
I have a 2016 yxz and aim buying a 2019 the only side by side that feels like a scaled down trophy truck belt drives are glorified golf carts
Put a engine in the thing that makes some torque instead of the low end gutless motor. For people riding in the south,
Hellwithpots a apex motor would do the job 🤘🏽
I agree 100%
Wish they came with a turbo
YES!
Yamaha needs to let this go and come up with a whole new design! Like trailing arms and 150hp minimum
I dont think any x3 with the 900 ace does not have a turbo. My wife's x3 xmr is the base model. Engine is turbocharged and comes in at 120hp.
The offered the 900 ho for one year, plus that engine is available in snowmobiles and watercraft without a turbo. Its actually about 20hp less than the yxz engine.
@@derrickbilodeau1435 I didn't know they offered it without the turbo on the x3. And yeah they use it in sleds and pwc. Solid engine for sure. The triple in the yxz is also used in the side winder. And they sound so crisp, especially when you're up over 8k rpm.
I also believe that's the same 900 that's in the can-am Ryker.
THEY NEED A HI LOW RANGE
🤘☠️🤘
Yes ❤️🙏
What is the top speed
80 mph
Hey Yamaha listen to me! Bring a yxz FJR1300 and beat them all...naturally aspirated!! 😄
Throw a street bike motor in there!
@@447Film just like they did in the banshee...
👍📽
CVT suuck all ways have i rather have a 1984 Honda 250 four trax as a say 2009 what ever brand/year of a cvt atv hummm buzzz all ways in that annoying rpm and its just a lazy cheap power robbing transmission and that being very generous calling the spring and belt type a transmission in first place
YAMaha🍠
HAMA-YAW
Theres a reason their symbol is not one but THREE tuning forks... LEXAS LFA... need i say more?..
So you just dumped 20+k on a gear pounding 100mph side by side. Great. Trail speed in NH is 25mph. Fish and game officer says: here's your ticket have a nice day!
They got me 45 on a trail as wide as a highway in the middle of nowhere. I will not register in NH next year
@@wickedmainah950 last time they stopped me on my sled I told them they better upgrade there sleds cause I ain't stopping. He didn't like that!!
@@judee00 just a money grab. I spend way more in their local economy than the $124 ticket. Hotels restaurants ect. I was out during the week at like 830 am, almost nobody else on the trails. Fing guy was hiding in the bushes with a radar gun.
@@wickedmainah950 that's what they do. That's how they got me. It's to the point the locals don't ride anymore.
@@judee00 m
So short answer is NO. its not relevant in today's sxs market.
It's old and under powered. Yamaha has the motor to put in it but wont
This engine in the Wildcat XX makes 130 horsepower, which is the most N/A power you can get in any side by side, right? What is under powered about it? Not everybody wants to fool with finicky turbo systems.
cvt rigs are boring
Typical Yamaha build something then don't change it for 20 years , this thing is already outdated
All-IN Offroad Many changes were done in 2019. Yamaha addressed quite a few things consumers wanted that typically would cost well over $2500.00
@@HeyDude93gt
Point is this , it's price point puts it in a class where it's just not relevant anymore ,it's not a bad machine I do like Yamaha I have a 2008 grizzly ATV with a zillion miles on it but like the atvs there price points ruin it, like the grizzly it's 11k for a loaded new one that's the same price as a 86 hp can am or 90 hp polaris sportsman
I wouldn't say it's out dated when they seem to dominate the Lucas series. Yes out of the box they are not 180hp but the only place that makes a big difference for the average Joe is in sand. Well slap a turbo on and kick ass. These have to be one of the cheapest and easiest machines to through a turbo on.
If it ain't broke dont fix it
All-IN Offroad I hear ya but almost everything is overpriced. I remember looking at a brand new Honda Pilot in 89 and thought to myself “ who’d pay ten grand for a ATV? Lo and behold, not many. Most people didn’t want to cough up that kinda money so it faded away. Fast forward 20 years and you can’t touch a large bore anything to ten grand. Different times for sure. But back to the yxz, I bought a 19 and absolutely enjoy it more than my friends Talon 1000R, X3 or RZR 1000. Now I’ll admit that the new KRX 1000 looks pretty nice and that would be my first belt driven sxs I’d consider if I went that route
turbo that yxz and it will any side by side on the market belt drive side by sides are behind the times wider and more suspension is a marketing scam scam don't take my word for it test drive both
The machine is so ugly lol
