Thanks, Richard your cardio for heart workouts is great. Also, thanks for explaining heart rate and blood pressure to aim for in one of your other videos. Im glad you have advised how often to do cardio, too. I don’t like gyms, so showing what you can do safely at home is perfect for me. Very well organised and cleanly produced videos 😊
The power of the exercise its so much underestimated!I've been working out my whole life, now I'm living with heart failure , brugada syndrome and major LBBB, I've added to my lifting routine Richard's workouts and I'm feeling amazing, as I've went from stage 2 heart failure back to stage 1!Those workouts are doing wonders, and i can't thank you enough for them Richard! So, everyone subscribe, subscribe, subscribe, this channel deserve millions of subscribers!!!
Excellent program. You are fantastic. 86 year old female and actually doing about 90% of it. Working towards 100%. Please tell me about your background. So excellent!
Awesome well done and thank you. I'm a qualified Level 4 exercise specialist in the UK with 28 years experience prescribing exercises to people with health conditions in the leisure centres as part of a countywide GP exercise referral programme. I've delivered 1-2-1 personal training sessions for clients that I've had for over 15 years and group exercise classes for people that have suffered strokes, brain injuries, heart attacks, respiratory disease or have other long term health conditions. It's been a passion of mine to help people improve their quality of life through exercise which is why I started this channel.
I noticed you gave this a level 4 intensity in the playlist of exercises, equal to your workout sandbag routine - which is much harder - was it a typo?
No? The sand bag workout is a 5 because it's very vigorous. There are only a few videos with that level of intensity as I explained in the video guide. I gave this one a 4 as it was a similar intensity to many of the blood pressure related videos on this channel.
Sorry but I found this workout tedious and boring (and I am a fan of your workouts). Also there was too much exercising of the shoulders so my trapezius (?) muscle was sore. I wish the workout had a strength component - Dumbbells or sandbag.
Sorry you didn't understand the aim of the workout which was to exercise the heart through cardiovascular movements which involve large or multiple muscle groups, hence why most of them use leg and arm movements together. There was no strength component as this is part of a 6 week programme for the summer as I explained in the intro. It might be worth checking your technique when doing the exercises if your trapezius was overloaded, as it shouldn't have been from this type of workout.
Totally agree. As someone who needs a cardio rehab programme I am delighted to find this and am determined to improve my cardio. This program is the best I have found. My son is very concerned about my lack of fitness and will be delighted that I have found a way forward. Thank you, thank you.
This was exactly what I needed. Thank you Richard.
Most welcome
