Thank you for the instructions! I have a few questions as I bought the kit and had a few problems. 1. How do you connect the power switch (and what do you connect it to)? 2. Whenever I connect the battery to the ESC, the ESC instatnly smokes. This is likely because I did not soder anything yet, probably did not connect the ESC to the receiver correctly or in the correct spot.
The power switch goes on the positive lead from the battery. The ESC is trash if it smoked. If you connected power backwards or added power to the wrong port it will smoke.
Nice. That was super enjoyable to watch. It did give me a few practical ideas. I’m wondering what receiver you use and how you set up your switches on the radio? I would love to see how that is set up as well. Great vid!
Thank you for posting this video. I do like the looks of the Scalar robot. We have a couple of Viper Robots from Palm Beach Bots. I put mine together last week with a lifter and ordered a spinner kit today... My first fight will be at Megacon and from the looks of other bots signed up I am gonna be in trouble..
We will be there too! The viper kit is a good kit. I have seen people win with them. My biggest recommendation is Titanium armor instead of the polycarbonate. What is your bots Name?
I used 1/8 inch UHMW for front armor. I am getting a piece of 0.5mm titanium for top armor. I have a piece of 1.0mm but it's too heavy.. I'm too close to 454grams. I need to shorten the wires and see how much weight I can lose.
I made the 0.5mm top armor, my first time working with Titanium.. I installed a spinner onto the Viper. No problems with weight. I ended up ordering 2 Scalar kits. My first fight ever will be at Megacon.. I only have about 10 minutes of drive time on robots.. so I practiced my "tap out" technique yesterday😂
That was a cool build, even with the dinky esc's it does not leave much room for receiver and battery.
I NEED THIS! This may be the new Azrael. Heck? It could be the new crazed madman.

I will have to do a Electronics tutorial. Receiver is a FS2A Flysky
@@TeamJunkYardDog that would be awesome. I may try to do a kit this year for fun. I had no idea that was possible.

@@robertrussell6324 Some people have drilled holes in the bottom of the chassis to reduce weight. Just not too many lol

Anyone got a good battery for this robot?
A common battery is the 350 mah palm power battery. palmbeachbots.com/?sca_ref=30... Here is the site.
