It's the first day

This video is two years old so I presume you already know this but if you don't then I'll give you some friendly advice: Don't forget to apply some type of decent hardening agent to all your bolts and screws etc for example bite force in battlebots uses Loctite EA E20-NS which you can source from Mcmaster-Carr. Do the same thing for your magnets making sure to not have any unneeded excess which might compromise motor performance. All the experienced teams do this as the epoxy from factory is very weak and any big hit your bot receives from an opponent mean they will basically explode on contact if you don't. Also, I hope you've got something to properly shock mount the electronics like motors and MOSFETS on the speed controllers cos they're quite brittle and can also easily break under load. You can achieve this by using some high durometer plastic or rubber to stop them smashing into other parts of your robot on big whacks and prevent metal on metal contact. The rubber you used for the wheel moulds should do the trick, you can easily make a mould cast to fit whatever shape your required component happens to be like a battery pack or weapon/drive motor. Anyway best of luck!!

Hi all! Builder and driver of Fluorine here! Honestly not much to say concerning my less than stellar performance against Gumbo. I was using a new weapon motor for this event, one that didn't take as long to ship out to me as the previous one. This new motor had a slightly longer shaft on the end of it. This meant that there was a lot more force being applied to this part of the motor, and it just couldn't take the pressure and failed... twice. It was a spectacular way to lose if nothing else and at least the robot was technically fully functional at the end of both of my fights with Gumbo. It also led to an amazing grudge match against Hellfire, which was probably a highlight of the event. My plan for the next event is to just switch back to the old weapon motor since that one never had this issue. My more permanent solution is to try and possibly make a proper hubmotor for Fluorine. That requires time that I don't have right now though. Third place ain't bad though, and I look forward to facing off against the mighty Gumbo again soon (and hopefully winning this time) Congrats on second place guys!

That is terrible. I also lost many parts at the last speedrun or I say better last crashtest 😂 The parts fly onto a field anti never found them until today . The rest of the chassis went into the trash. Everything is broken. So that’s the dark side of the Speedrunchallenge 😂😂😂 Greetings Markus
