"Shining Star" is a good one..but I LOVE "Fantasy!" Actually, I think in general their entire catalog is above most of the competition when it comes to bands and musical arrangement. Anybody who appreciates "good music"..and the "magic" of combining instruments played by talented musicians along with the "human instrument" of gifted vocals. They're the best hands down when it comes to that!
I saw these guys @15 years ago in concert. The audience weren't in their seats for 95% of the show! One of the best groups I've ever seen perform! Can you say ENERGY??!👍

The Emotions (3 women) are singin' with Earth, Wind, & Fire on this one. Lotsa radio hits from E, W, & F..."Shining Star" "Getaway" "That's the Way Of the World" "September" "After the Love Has Gone" "Let's Groove Tonight" "Sing a Song" "Got To Get You Into My Life"(a great Beatles' cover), and The Emotions hit big with "Best Of My Love"
And the horn section was phoenix horns which also played with Phil Collins
These songs were played at every party ,weddings you name it . Tney were huge. Love them. Try September, hell listen to all their songs. I'm a rock fan but thus group is fire.✌🌻🌻
The guy with the incredible falsetto is Philip Bailey. He shows off his vocals on September!!

Maurice did the lead vocals on September. Philip shows his vocals on Reasons, Fantasy, Star, and on many others. His high falsetto is prominent on most of the backing vocals and several lead vocals of EW&F songs.
Im amazed hiw anyone into music has not heard or listened to EW&F.
While a great song, this is not the best song to start with when discovering Maurice and EW&F.
Start with Thats the way of the world and further back. They were about musical sophistication, uplifting their culture and spreading understanding amongst all races and religions.
Maurice White was a musical genius and EW&F were the R&B equivalent of the Beatles.
Too really hear his range..listen to Keep Your Head To The Sky.

The title of this video should read “ Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind, & Fire featuring The Emotions “ , two legendary groups in R&B, Soul, and Funk music history. The Emotions two album projects at the time were produced by Earth, Wind and Fire, so it was no surprise to see them do a song together , and it was a monster Disco Era hit!

The greatest group OF ALL TIME! They have multiple number 1 songs and albums. It is a rabbit hole if you chose to go down. They are still touring I saw them live at the Hollywood Bowl in 2019. Their leader the guy in while Maurice White pasted away several years ago but the other members are still touring. I have a friend that saw them last month.
40 years ago I was living at the end of this continent, 15.000 miles far away from Chicago and I was able to get this music. EWF was and is the band of my whole life.
In case you didn't know, Earth Wind and Fire were high on the charts as the same time as KC and the Sunshine Band.

Earth, Wind & Fire is still performing. I saw them with Chicago in 2016 and they still put on a hell of a show! The man in the dark clothes is Philip Bailey and he has such a strong voice although I only heard bits of it here. His son has joined the group too. Their shows have always been huge productions.
Earth Wind & Fire were big back in the day. This is always a fun one.
Seeing this band perform was a treat for both eyes & ears.
1979. I was 22 and had just graduated from college. Man, we partied hard on this one all night!

EWF...the band...the vocal group..the performers... the lyricist..THIS was the complete package! Plus the most amazing outfits! A concert was an EVENT...you always got your money's worth! Known by their fans as the Elements. My all time favorite band. I will be going to see them in Vegas in November for the 22nd time. One of their best concerts was at the Greek Theater when they shared the stage with Chicago.

I had the pleasure of meeting lead singer Maurice White (RIP) in 1981. He came into the bar where my band was playing.
Best dance music. The dance floor would get so full. Remember those days. Great memories.

The Emotions (female trio) were a family group of sisters and they are singing on this song and toured with EW&F, fun fact: one of them dated Phillip Bailey (falsetto guy) of EW&F! They have so many hits and they are one of the most influential bands of the rock/funk era! ❤️❤️

First of all EWF is my favorite group of All Time!! Their music kept us jammin all thru the 70s!! Ballads like Reasons, Love's Holiday, and After the Love Has Gone. Uptempo ones like Fantasy, Shining Star, and September will keep you jammin all day every day!

This is a rabbit hole you guys need to explore. I graduated from high school in 1980. Earth, Wind & Fire were a staple in my high school days. Used to listen to them in the car on an eight track. I just age myself. I’m so glad that you’ve discovered them. They are an amazing band and they never get old. The gentleman with the high voice. His name is Philip Bailey. He has a duet with Phil Collins (In the Air Tonight). You might want to check that out. The name of the song is Easy Lover.

Maurice White comes out singing first with the beautiful girls group The Emotions dancing and singing. Phillip Bailey is the other voice you hear singing and dancing. He has a successful solo career of his own. This is classic 70's disco. RIP Maurice.

Actually EWF is a funk/jazz/soul band that (like every other artist signed to a major label in 1979) included some disco songs on an album. The biggest hit single from this album was the ballad "After The Love Has Gone". And yes, they are still touring.
DISCO??? They were so much more than Disco. Yes they came out in that era but their costumes were cosmic new age vibe bringing messages of HARMONY AND LOVE TO HUMANITY. Yes they did "disco" numbers like this...but that WAS A SMALL SAMPLING OF THEIR OTHER SONGS THAT CARRIED DEEP MESSAGES OF HARMONY AND LOVE LIFTING HUMANITY TO A HIGHER VIBE. THEY TOOK US TO THE SKIES WITH THEIR MUSIC. Read up on what Maurice's original intention was with the name of the Group and what he intended to achieve with their music.
Yes they can Boogie hence the name Boogie Wonderland. Phillip Bayley hits those high male falsetto. Saw them live in NYC in the 70's . Lets just say the joint was rockin all night. Great choice again.
