This song is damn near 50 yrs old and still sounds as good as it did in the 70s
Tell it like it is, brother man, spot on correct. I am an old, white, 69 year old guy who adored and misses so much of the soul and R&B that came from the decades of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. What in God's name has happened to soul and R&B, and specifically black music? I say this out of love, but Motown, where the heck have you gone? Now I am starting to cry, and it's not even September....

I was a 6 year old white kid from the suburbs in 1980. My parents asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I said "Earth, Wind, and Fire!!!" (I had seen them for the first time in that TERRIBLE 'Sgt. Pepper' movie from a couple years ago that my parents dragged me to. Haha)
But, I was HOOKED on how GREAT this band was!!! That Christmas? EWF's Greatest Hits was under the tree...
Because my parents are cool as shit and raised me RIGHT! 😎

The best R & B band of all time! Not are they only good singers, but true musical geniuses in how they arranged their music and play their instruments. they play their instruments. This was one of their more comnerical mainstream jams. They were my very first concert when I was a freshman in HS. Since then, I've seen them in co concert..over the years almost a dozen times. They out in an amazing show every time and have a loving and positive energy. You always get your monies worth..and then some! Excellent musicians AND performers.
You should go down the rabbit hole with them. They have fun dance music like this..songs with spiritual lyrics and social awareness..and the some good slow jams too ("Reasons" for one). Classic..#GOATBAND...💜💜💜

I saw EW&F in 2017 with other iconic bands over a (2) day concert. Right after the founder/drummer and iconic composer Maurice White passed away…they were incredible. I love them.❤❤

Saw them in August of 2022 , AMAZING PERFORMANCE. Philip Bailey sounds as good as he always does ( took lead since Maurice crossed over in 2016) . I’m so grateful I saw them… Verdine White still amazing jamming on his bass , was able to see Fred White ( drums) and Roland Batista ( electric guitar) before the both crossed over in 2023💔❤🙏🎼👍🔥💃. One of the Greatest Bands ever . I love watching you both and just joined reaction videos in 2023 . Thank you both for doing all genres of music. Much appreciated ❤

Earth, Wind, Fire wore the most outrageous wardrobe and they totally cool. Always brought the funk. Hehehe. They were playing in my house on my Fathers record player, in the 70’s when I was 11. I lost my Daddy in 2018.

EW&F (with Tower of Power opening for them) at the New Haven Coliseum in 1978 was -- bar none -- the best concert I've ever seen (and I worked there for 6 years from 1972-1978 and saw over 100 concerts) They smashed it and had the entire audience on their feet, dancing and smiling for nearly 4 hours -- and could have gone on another 4!

I have a story which may interest Shawn and maybe not Mel, It was in the 70s and I was in a bar on the 2nd floor with 2 friend of mine who were also Playboy Bunnies and when we hit the stairs the whole crowd stopped to look at us, but mainly the girls who were dressed to the 9s, while this song started and I felt like Hugh Hefner 😎
This group JUST got inducted into the Presidential American Artist Medal like 3 years ago, but were in the Rock and Roll hall of fame in 2000 (it was supposed to be 99 but the some of the voters either retired or passed away). That's Washington DC for you🫣
