Hi. My boy is almost two and he loves to watch trains. You have to love RUclips where you can watch train footage with the click of the mouse. Well after many hours of watching many train videos, I have come to a conclusion. You have by far the best videos. The best angles and setups. The best editing by far. Thank you for a such great pieces and sharing.
Very enjoyable. The sound is fantastic. The lighting in the cab shots is also very good. Often, in-cab shots are back-lit and very dark, but yours photographed beautifully. Keep sharing!
Wow, I love horses, that just made my day with that beginning shot. I can't believe they took her up to 50 MPH today, with no ditchlights and all, imagine the lawsuit that could come out of that...
Your videos are all great, but this one is our favorite, from the horses running along and tripping (And kicking each other), to the shot at the 4:12 mark when it enters the tunnel and you cut right to the cab with the noise and bouncing around, to the shot at the end with the kayakers in the water. Just great. I like the shaky cab. Ride looks so smooth from the side of the track, so it's fun to see how non-smooth it is in the cab.
I never rode in the cab. I set up a camera rig that allowed me to position a camera in the cab... It was my first time really using it and I didn't set it up 100% correctly, thus resulting in the awful shaking.
Len if you think a pacific rides rough then u have never rode on an engine without a trailing truck. The 425 is a Cadillac compared to other engines. Nice video Joe, you did the best you could with the camera setup. Kinda of a last minute thing.
Joe, your going to have shacks regardless it's mounted in a 4-6-2 . The engine rides rough to start with. So don't worrie about it. It's Great video! Len.
Really? Wow, I thought it applied for all locomotives above 20 MPH on a grade crossing; that's great news, thanks. I was told she reached 50 MPH, but still, 40 must have been one heck of a ride on that crappy track. Hope you had a lot of fun.
Yeah Joe, the shaking will probably be considered "normal". If you watch some Mark 1 productions with in-cab or engine-mounted shots, you will see alot of shaking.
The horses racing shot was excellent - great movie!

Acdc, I've ridden in all kind of steam in my life. from 0-4-0's to 4-8-4's . I been rail fanning for close to 35 years.

Excellent footage, very well done. That seen with the horses was perfect, the Iron Horse vs a regular horse. Could not have been better.

Flat out amazing footage! My son and I can watch no other train videos after seeing yours. Well done!
Wow. That is a FANTASTIC video!
Kudos to the horse that dumped it in the beginning too! lol
No fear of heights for the last shot! WOW that shot gives me the chills haha
Nice video, this is the first I viewed 425 in HD.

Man Joe i must say the best video Ive ever seen with 425!!
Great video! Definitely one of the best 425 vids I've seen. I got a good laugh out of the stumbling horses at 1:35. 5***** and favorited.
1:35

Awesome catches!
The horses pacing 425 was one of the best scenes!

Fantastic video and sound. How was your sleep when you're coming home? Do you hear the train the whole night? :-)
Thrilling!
That one horse seems to always fall down, it did in another video too. But anyways, amazing video.
Question, where did you get the shot at 1:35, I might recreate it with 2102 in June
Wonderful!!!
Yeah Joe, the shaking will probably be considered "normal". If you watch some Mark 1 productions with in-cab or engine-mounted shots, you will see alot of shaking.
joe all i have to say is wow!!!! is there more in cab stuff?
Aside from that, great job
The one part the wheels train slide
1:35 oh my gosh
Where did the trip start and end?
How in the can the fireman keep up with such a hungry firebox. They really get that locomotive moving!
I would love to hand fire something going that fast.
Sounds like EBT 14

TRAINZ ANYONE
It started at Jim Thorpe
We didnt go above 40, plus steam engines are exempt from ditch lights.
Yes, but it is unbearable to watch!
