I can't thank you enough. Seems as though DJI has really just dropped the ball when it comes to using an android phone with their products. Your information is a real help, thanks again.
DJI didn't drop the ball, it's just that Google is the only one of the app providers, which did not want to freely make available the spyware that makes every single click, every single picture, all of your contacts, your text, conversations, and all of your files available to mainland to China.
@@samtroyer1457 Updates came out last week for Fly and Mimo to fix conflicts after recent Android updates which allowed many people to use those apps successfully again. Hopefully they will release updates for Go4 and other apps soon. Hi Marcus, thank you very much for your video on how to fix the DJI app problem. It worked effectively for me and your step by step process was easy to follow. Thank you!! I'm going on a trip soon and wanted to use my gimbal and osmo pocket to take videos only to realize the apps wouldn't work. This fixed it no problem! DJI has been nothing but a headache for us android users

ALL MAN thank you for your help and the QR code right on the screen. I gave up on DJI a couple years ago because I couldn't ever get the app to open. Now it works because of you THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
There's a reason DJI isn't providing the app via the app store anymore. Installing APKs from sources outside of the Play Store is a security risk and the fact DJI asks you to do so tells you all you need to know about this company.

Works perfectly with my Samsung galaxy S20. Thank you so much bro. I tried the other RUclips tutorials and didn't work. The apk installer wasn't working but your cx file explorer tip worked perfectly. Thumbs up.
I dropped my Samsung s21 ultra in the canal. Luckily had an old s10 emergency phone... in case I dropped phone in water... never to be found again. Which is where the s21 is now. I could not open dji fly app which rendered my new mini pro 3 useless... it is now working, cheered me up a lot. Thank you for the very clear information on how to get app to work.
Sorry about your phone in the Canal but it is good that S21 Ultra is working for you. Some people say apps still not working on S21 after following instructions . So maybe sometimes it depends on which carrier phone it is and what android version or security version is being used. Have a great time flying.
I can't thank you enough, Mr. Marcus. If it weren't for your sharing, I couldn't have installed the mimo application for dji pocket 2, which I just got today, on my android phone. In fact, your sharing more than the product made me happy. Thanks so much again. Good luck to you.
Thank you so much for posting this! Got around the bug for me. Can't believe such a popular and expensive product has had a software bug for so long that prevents access to flying the drone...but thankfully you have saved the day!
LOL. Maybe. Seems like everytime there is application or Bluetooth issue it always occurs in Andeoid phone but is not an issue for my Apple iPad. So Apple phone would prevent issues in the future. But as you say then I will not be able to know about issues to solve them and help others. Hard decision to make perhaps.
Thank you so much, you saved my filming project within minutes, now Im ready to go flying to earn some much neded money, cant say enough of thank you, have an awesome life!
Absolute life saver. Thanks so much for this. Endless speculation on why this happened and why dji seem to only publish their updates on their site for the android apps!
Glad to have saved your life in a figurative sense. Maybe literally if without this video you might have thrown your DJI product at a wall via anger and frustration causing it to bound back and hit you in the nose pushing bone into you brain and killing you.
You are a Life saver. I now have the DJI fly app on my android. I don't understand why DJI removed themselves from allowing it to be done on the Google Play Store. I just hate this thing with Apple and Android, where you can access or connect to different things on one, but not the other. Everyone is tired of it...
Yes it would be nice if every product had the identical app available directly from Google and Apple with same features. It is frustrating when you find difference of product features or application function when using Apple versus Android. In my experience it seems most always favor Apple and often have features not available in Android.
DJI on 8/17/2022 officially released DJI Fly 1.6.12 which may resolve DJI Fly app crashing bug. Additional info in this video I created: ruclips.net/video/-wfFYqdjtfI/видео.html
You are a saviour!!!!! I was wondering we what the hell was going on!!! I'd just used my drone 6 months ago and the previous app worked perfectly. As a I.T. guy I knew something was up. Looks like I can USE my drone again which wasn't cheap. Thanks brother!!!
Thanks - you're a life saver... I couldn't find the DJI Fly app in the Google Playstore..... I've been an Android lover since day 1, gonna be hard to switch to iOS just to get better App support. :(
I was apple phone person initially. Been on Android forever. But I have so many DJI and GoPRo products where it always seems they are better supported in apple versus Android. So maybe next phone upgrade will be back to apple. I dipped my toes back in the apple pond by getting a iPad tablet when it came time to upgrade my android tablet. So I will use iPad for drone flying sometimes.
Excellent video!! I had a problem with getting DJI GO to install on my Samsung S20 5E and used your video to solve the problem to connect to DJI OSMO MOBILE 2

Great video Marcus. I have just purchased an OSMO Action 4 and just could not get my Samsung Galaxy S9 to install the Mimo app - your tip on using cx file explorer worked at treat! Thanks very much.
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I bought the Osmo Pocket 2 for the first time and had a little heart attack moment when there was no Mimo app, and the download from DJI didn't read on any of my apps. You saved the day!
Thank you so much for sharing this video, before watching this i was having a meltdown about how to shoot my social media content with my DJI OM4 with my android phone This has been so helpful and much appreciated, more help here than on the DJI site in my opinion.
I had this issue too where the app on Android wouldn't open so I just went on the dji website, downloaded the new version and update/reinstalled. Fixed!
Yes. Android performs updates which break the DJi Apps. Then DJI eventually days or weeks later make new app version which fixes the issue. Rinse, wash, repeat.
THANK YOU! I had watched other videos on trying to get the app installed and none worked. I had tried your steps, all which had failed, until the CX File Explorer method, which is what finally allowed the app to install on my S22 Ultra device. You've just gained a new sub out of me for this alone!
Thank you. I only wished it worked for everyone as there is still a percentage of people who say it did not work for them, including a person with S22 Ultra in my other video specific to DJI Go4. .
@@MarcusGlass It's interesting because up until the very last part, with the CX File Explorer, I was kinda resolving myself to the fact that it wouldn't work either. Every other video I watched on how to install it described everything BUT that, so again major thank you. I had to download the app for the DJI Ronin btw.
Depar Marcus, you are a real rock star. Thank to you now I can use my DJI OM 6 efficiently. Strange that neither DJ’i nor Samsung or android helps to their clients but you help us all. Thanks a million Marcus! You are a great man. I will subscribe your channel right now and recommend your channel to everyone.
Brilliant I have the first DJI MIMO that came out not used it for a while devastated when I found the app crashed. Found this post did followed instructions I have a Samsung phone. Easy to follow perfect (I’m not IT savvy)

Thanks man! After about 7 hours of mucking around I found this, can confirm it works! Was about to send it back! 😊 - rsc 2 ronin app wouldn't let me activate the gimbal to even use it! 5 mins after finding Ur video I was up and running!
Oh thank god. This was soooo frustrating. Just got a new pixel 7 and have an old phantom 3 pro. Could not get it working at all until this video. Thank you so much!
Thank you! I went to use my DJI Phantom 3 and was having the problem of the DJI Go app not opening. I went to the DJI website as instructed, downloaded it from there and now i can open the app. Thanks!!
@@MarcusGlass Yes, huge help. I just had a nice flight but unfortunately I crashed when the low battery triggered a "return to home" that I wasn't ready for and the Phantom 3 flew into trees. Should I find a local repair person or is it better to send the Phantom 3 into DJI or an authorized repair center?
@@jonathanmeyers4318 Total bummer. So far in past 4 years I have not crashed DJI drones where I had to get them repaired (thankfully). Only one minor crash and some close calls. So I have no experience about getting them repaired. My first inclination would be DJI directly. But I see in my area there are shops that also do repair. I guess see what DJI would charge and then check out some other local services to see if they have parts/ability to fix? Here is a place in Minneapolis area (near me) twincityaerial.com/product/drone-repair-service/
Thanks for posting this. It was extremely helpful. I don't understand how DJI could have su h a terrible situation. They should pay you for enabling their customers to use their products.
Thank you so much! I was smart enough to try to download it directly from DJI but I would have never thought to use CX file explorer to get it to actually run.
Thanks for the fix! Went to fly my Spark today and the app did the same thing! Reloaded it the way you mentioned and it worked perfectly! Can't really blame it on DJI: They didn't update or change Android. They have to redo the software every time Android makes changes and they are going to concentrate on their flagship models first. Oh well...happy flying!
Hi Marcus at 4:30 somehow I don't get the option to use the Package installer - did you download a separate app or should this be available on Android? Thank you in advance!
Normally would appear as part of Android without extra download. It did not appear for me on the second DJI app I installed so I needed to download and install CX File Explorer, open the phone download folder, then selected APK file.
You just saved me such a headache! Thanks for that, I would not have figured it out on my own! If you have a lightning wallet I will send you some Satoshis
Sure you can ninstall CX file explorer after installing DJI App successfully. But you might also keep it for other purposes like to find stuff easier like downloads you have made.
Yes it does in that once you install the DJI app future updates made via the app are using the DJI app (not the web browser or other program you are using to launch the downloaded APK file. So as long as the DJI App continues to open, and as long as you enable permissions for the DJI App to install from unknown source, you will get updates from the DJI app. The reason for turning off the Unknown source for the browser or app used to launch APK is just to put it back to original setting to ensure it will not be used to install apps from other unknown sources unless you choose to enable it again.
Excellent video, helped me solve the DJI not opening error in minutes, thanks very much! The onscreen views of walking through the apk install were a nice touch!
Thanks, bro. That's crazy. Does DJI even have support to help? Is it Android or DJI who's doing this. I think I'm making the switch to Apple next time too. Also with computer/laptop - I want to be able to play a Prores file with no lag!
Yes you can. But you might consider saving it just in case in future some update occurs which renders the app useless on your phone. Then you could go back and try to install the older version to see if that makes it work again. Or connect phone to PC and then transfer the file from downloads on phone to PC and change file name to state the version so you can more easily tell what version is.

I cant believe this worked. Thank you very much.
I was honestly super skeptical that installing from CX would make a difference but it worked
Excellent video!! I had a problem with getting DJI GO to install on my Samsung S20 5E and used your video to solve the problem to connect to DJI OSMO MOBILE 2
Thank you it worked I believe now when I get my dji mimi I won I will try it thanks again
Yeah thats a major pain in the rear. Spent 1 hr trying to figure this out. Then seen your Video. Great Info Sir !
YOU my friend are an absolute LEGEND!!!!! Followed your steps and it now works again!!!! Thankyou so much for your in depth yet simple solution. Thankyou!!!!
Thank you for watching my new friend.
Great video Marcus. I have just purchased an OSMO Action 4 and just could not get my Samsung Galaxy S9 to install the Mimo app - your tip on using cx file explorer worked at treat! Thanks very much.
Thankyou !! So Much, I Haven't Flown For 2 Months And Was So Annoyed Until I Found This Tutorial. Thankyou Again.
You are welcome.!
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I bought the Osmo Pocket 2 for the first time and had a little heart attack moment when there was no Mimo app, and the download from DJI didn't read on any of my apps. You saved the day!

My Mimo and Ronin apps would not work on my new Samsung S22. Now, thanks to you, they do! Greatly appreciated.
Hooray! 😀

Oh my goodness this issue has been plaguing me for months. Your video was a life saver thankyou thankyou thankyou Marcus
Thank you so much. This was so helpful and clear. I finally got the DJI Mimo app on my phone and registered my device.
Thank you so much for sharing this video, before watching this i was having a meltdown about how to shoot my social media content with my DJI OM4 with my android phone
This has been so helpful and much appreciated, more help here than on the DJI site in my opinion.
Thank you for watching and commenting Patricia
thanks, this CX file worked on opening DJI fly app on my pixel 6. no other method worked. thanks again!!!!
Thanks dude!
So grateful for the smart people in the world willing to help a dumbarse like me!
Cherers from Australia!
Thanks for commenting and watching video from Minnesota in the United States.
Out in FL shooting floods for drone work needed and you got my back on my feet fast. Thank you!
You are welcome.
Huge thanks!!!
I'm on vacation and you give us the perfect how to! Well done buddy!
Glad to help!
Thank you!!!!! I'm so tired of problems with DJI. Got the Mavic Pro 3 years ago and haven't been able to keep it in the sky. Hopefully now I can do so
Thank you so much this has been a headache for me for a long time appreciate you!
Glad it helped!
Thank you soo much!! 🙏
I was about sending the DJI om4 back to the store because I coudn't find any solution. But then I found your video. 😁👌💯
Hooray. The store and DJI should send me a thank you note right?
Thank you. Finally, I'm available to fly my drones again. I was about to sell them until I found your video. Thanks again
I'm glad the video helped you.
I get this for DJI fly and it's working now thank-you. Shouldn't have to go through that to get app to work they need to fix it.
Thank you very much for all the info. Ran into the same issue on my new fold 3. After watching your video my app is now working.
Glad to help!
Brilliant I have the first DJI MIMO that came out not used it for a while devastated when I found the app crashed. Found this post did followed instructions I have a Samsung phone. Easy to follow perfect (I’m not IT savvy)

Life saver. Thanks alot mate.
Just got this bad boy today and was disappointed that the app would not open.
Much appreciated 🤗
Thanks you sir. I bought my DJI om 4 a couple weeks ago. And could not connect to my phone do to need update . i am thinking about to selling them because I couldn't find any solution. but found this and your explanation, this really help me out. big hugs from me.❤️😊
Thanks man! After about 7 hours of mucking around I found this, can confirm it works! Was about to send it back! 😊 - rsc 2 ronin app wouldn't let me activate the gimbal to even use it! 5 mins after finding Ur video I was up and running!
Enjoy the RSC2. I have been using it with Raveneye and it is pretty cool.
Thanks!!
Great News. Glad I was able to help
Here is a place in Minneapolis area (near me)

@@MarcusGlass Great, thanks so much for your help.
I have mavic mini and i cant fly with my drone in s22 ultra
@@julihoxhallari6952 Interesting...I have the S20 ultra 5G and side loading it did work well for me.
Thank you so much! You helped me solve my problem. You deserve the best! Today I premiered my DJI Osmo Pocket 2
wow! you were the ONLY video that helped! thank you so much
I am glad that video was of help to you
Thank you... Thank you... I could finally use my OM5 with my S22 ultra!! You are amazing!
Glad I could help!
You just saved me such a headache! Thanks for that, I would not have figured it out on my own! If you have a lightning wallet I will send you some Satoshis
thanks Marcus, I had this issue for 6 months. finally resolved. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great. Quite the down time.
Thanks Dude! same issue with my Osmo Mobile 2 for a while! but now it works perfect.
This fix worked for me. Thank you for researching this issue and providing a how to video to fix it.
Glad it helped.
Thanks Marcus - I am super happy, you safed my drones!!!
You are welcome! Have fun flying!
Great video. Solved the problem for me back here in Nigeria
Thanks that was most helpful I have been going round in circles try to load this app .
Thank you so much!!!! This video is one that actually works to install DJI Mimo on Android.
DJI has released DJI Mimo 1.7.26 on 8/18/2022. ruclips.net/video/CHK2yKeHmXI/видео.html
Thank you for this amazing video. It is nice to actually be able to use the app with my gimbal. DJI owes you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this... the video was easy to understand.. can I uninstall the CX file explorer??? Just keep it
Sure you can ninstall CX file explorer after installing DJI App successfully. But you might also keep it for other purposes like to find stuff easier like downloads you have made.
Very helpful video. By reverting the browser back to 'Do Not Install from Unknown Source', does that still allow updates from DJI?
Yes it does in that once you install the DJI app future updates made via the app are using the DJI app (not the web browser or other program you are using to launch the downloaded APK file. So as long as the DJI App continues to open, and as long as you enable permissions for the DJI App to install from unknown source, you will get updates from the DJI app. The reason for turning off the Unknown source for the browser or app used to launch APK is just to put it back to original setting to ensure it will not be used to install apps from other unknown sources unless you choose to enable it again.
@@MarcusGlass Great answer, thanks Marcus.
Excellent video, helped me solve the DJI not opening error in minutes, thanks very much! The onscreen views of walking through the apk install were a nice touch!
I called myself following the instructions. Dji fly app is not considered installed. Will Litchi app work?
Thank you for the awesome step by step directions! It worked to fix the issue for me!
You're welcome!
Thanks, bro. That's crazy. Does DJI even have support to help? Is it Android or DJI who's doing this. I think I'm making the switch to Apple next time too. Also with computer/laptop - I want to be able to play a Prores file with no lag!
Marcus what can I say, the only advise that worked!!! Thanks bud will definitely follow you!!
Awesome, thank you!. Seems most comments say it worked. A few say it did not help them. Wish it worked for every.
Thank you so much. Ive been trying to figure this out for a few months now. This saved me a lot more headache.
Glad it helped!
Thx Marcus the solution works on phone, but not on tablet, what a bummer!
Thanks mate, legend. Quick question. Can you delete the file from downloads after it has installed?
Yes you can. But you might consider saving it just in case in future some update occurs which renders the app useless on your phone. Then you could go back and try to install the older version to see if that makes it work again. Or connect phone to PC and then transfer the file from downloads on phone to PC and change file name to state the version so you can more easily tell what version is.
Thanks heaps mate. It worked for the Tello app too
Amazing! It finally works on my S21 Ultra. Thanks.....
