This actually a really interesting take on what the psychological effects of regeneration might be like. Just imagine that during the regen process this is what the doctor sees. All of his past selves embracing him as the next member of the past incarnations. And he can choose to fight back and slow down the process, but no matter what he does... The change is inevitable.
I like this theory, I believe the fourth doctor saying “I could do so much more” was him saying that he wanted to comeback, and with the doctor regenerating he thought this could be his chance to comeback as all the other doctors were thinking. Just knowing that after you regenerate you become one those things for life is frightening
I wanted to say sometuing close to this but in more depth going into how I used to listen to this song/band all the time together with the drums, beat, mood, and theme causes chills and such but this works too...
I love how at the end when the 10th Doctor is falling, and you can see the realistic face of him regenerating, that you can barely hear the actual 11th Doctor's voice, screaming in pain as he changes, and then he lands as his new incarnation... What?!?! Mind = BLOWN! What the bloody heck. lol Nice job with the easter egg, Chameleon Circuit! :-D
I remember how incredible this was when i first heard it. The community of youtubers was my life when I was a kid and its rotted and faded over time. Things like this still give me a glimpse into the joy and amazement I felt with everything they made. Good things never last.
@@oddment7 until half the members of this band turned out to be rapists unfortunately. It was difficult for me to believe/comprehend as a kid and now it almost takes the goodness out of the memory.
I did have a phase where I genuinely wanted to write for doctor who. I wanted to bring a return to morality and grey characters and consequences like Davies did, along with foreshadowing and deep plots. I wanted to make a doctor who originally doesn't want a companion, because he/she is self aware of the past companions who had fallen (parallel universe, memory erased, died, etc). I wanted my writing to really focus on the doctor's isolation and independence.
When I was young I planned out an entire story for a character that would be the Doctor’s son. Mapped out every regeneration, the companions he’d have, his different personalities between every generation, and overall just had a really fun time with it. After a decade or two I realized how shit a story about the Doctor’s offspring would be, but the fun part of the universe is that you’re able to think of such things and experiment with a seemingly infinite number of stories.
Rose went away, so the Doctor is blue. Ask Donna "Where's the Doctor?", she'll reply"Doctor Who?"Sarah Jane and Martha and now both the Ponds, had their fun with the Doctor, and now they've all gone. So ask me again why the Tardis is blue, there's a sad man inside with both hearts torn in two...

Puppy288 MC Probably because they thought playing the chorus backwards was creative and sounded cool for the "regeneration scene" at the end of the song? :3 That's why I would have done it if it were my song. I mean, I don't even hear "The Master's alive" in there, and even after someone pointed it out, I still just hear a jumbled-up backwards mess that kind of but not really sounds like it's saying something about the Master if I'm *trying* to make sense of them in the context of Doctor Who. I've played the song to some of my friends, and they don't hear anything either, or they start hearing something completely different. It just doesn't seem like it was intentional to me or even that the distinct words are actually there to hear.
I gave in and got HBO max. I haven't watched Doctor Who in 6 or so years because of college and then it was off Netflix and I couldn't afford to pay another subscription fee. I was finally able to afford it and now I'm catching up. Felt so nostalgic is to rediscover chameleon circuit in the process. I haven't listened to this song since I was in middle school and now I'm 24!
the 'i could do so much more' line along with the animation is just one of those brilliant moments in good music when it's physically heart wrenching to listen to. i really loved it.
this made me cry because the doctor is dying more than once in his life which is extremely painful. and he doesn't want to go. he doesn't want to leave the people he loves behind. but he has to.
I randomly had a fleeting memory of this and I'm so glad I found it again! Still gives me chills! The fourth doctor saying "I could do so much more!" and then the third breaking through the floor; utterly haunting!
I actually think this could be a premise for an actual episode of Doctor Who. The current Doctor comes across some sort of event that causes them to see the doctors of the past as skeletons that chase them down. The episode could end with the doctor waking up from this nightmare, and sees a glimpse of what they'll look like next.
I just joined the fandom recently and damn....that hits so hard. It's painful but such a masterpiece. A big thanks to the person who creates this amazing song.
On behalf of all Chameleon Circuit fans, please for the love of Galifrey take full advantage of the massive Doctor Who projects coming up soon. YOUR SONG MUST NEVER END!
Coming back years later, I only knew the 10th and 11th doctor and bits of the story for the show at the time. It's been a ride learning more and just seeing where things are now. I'm 20 now and im glad to grown up with the show, thank you for being a part of those memories.

man i'm glad i'm not the only one being nostalgic, i remember my mom showing me this as a kid and it made me fall in love with indie animation and just art in general, i wanted to do things like this
Ah I cried so hard during this video! That line "I don't want to go" really gets me every time and 10's regeneration scene is just heartbreaking. This is such an amazing video for this song ah!!
We *NEED* a sequel called “The Doctor Is Dying, Again” with *David Tennant (AGAIN) regenerating into Ncuti Gatwa.* Seriously, in December 2023 after the 3 BIGGEST specials are released.
Alright, so as someone who sorta lost interest in DW during the current Moffat-era, this video/song made me feel super emotional and brought out that lil whovian in me that won't die, great job!
What really fucked me up was the previous doctors. Especially fourth. Because these doctors were so distiguishable and unique and seeing them as skeletons, only shadows of what they used to be, THAT IS REALLY MESSED UP.
Royce Ligtvoet If you actually paid attention to the show instead of foaming at the mouth over a reasonable point, you would notice he generally didn't make plans.
Royce Ligtvoet Based on characters from a TV show, part of Ten's personality was forming plans at the last minute, now stop making yourself look like an idiot.
I must say, the hands down freakiest point was the skeleton doctors. Seeing that he was once them, but now they were gone, and they were not truly real. The "I could do so much more!" From 4 just showed how they all felt they needed more time to be truly there, and now they were just gone.... And knowing he would soon join them..... That would be terrible.....
To be honest when I first discovered this video I got huge Nightmares from the ood or something and the dead doctors, now looking at this I get goosebumps all over. Really a masterpiece
I honestly love this song so much like I could have it on repeat for HOURS. But my gosh I am totally sure this is the darkest music video for a chameleon circuit song I have ever seen! Very great whoever made it! ♡♥♡♥♡♥♡♥
This video was absolutely incredible. Fit the song perfectly. I had my mouth open the entire time, probably looking like a total idiot in the middle of this tea lounge but I couldn't even help it, this was just amazing.
This is probably my favourite Chameleon Circuit song- definitely my favourite off the second CD. I've been watching since the reboot, but I didn't really "fall in love" with the show until Tennant arrived on the scene. Don't get me wrong, I love the other two new doctors too, but Tennant will always be MY doctor.
Im realizing now, after years of not listening to this song, i can still hear it in the back of my mind. Fourth grade me was the first one to hear it, but now, 20 year old me, has this stuck forever in their head. My own sound of drums.
"One thing before you go, you'll be getting your reward." Me: oh no... "Back in time for those you love," Me: NO, NO FLASHBACKS. "Martha-: Me: Don't do it. "Donna-" Me: I SWEAR IF YOU DO IT- "Jack and-" Me: WAIT NO- "-Rose... :3" Me: I hate the internet. *flips laptop*
I’ve came back to this video to relive my child hood, i’m now re watching every doctor who episode. Thank you doctor who for making my child hood amazing. - love mark i’ll be back in 7 years (2027)
I love how this video focused on what could have been the inner thoughts of ten while facing the prospect of regeneration: The skeletons of his past, his ultimate inability to run from his fate and the pain that having lived so many lives has left him with. Great video for an amazing song!
Just reminded me how much I love David Tennant as doctor... but how I was pleasantly surprised by Matt Smith when he started... though I'm pretty sure David will always be my fave, so thanks for this song xxx
This is why it makes me mad when people call Ten a wuss and say, "Oh he's such a weak crybaby." He already had to face not only death, but the fact that his whole personality would change. That's like someone walking around after you die, calling themselves you. But Ten had to face that alone. He had no hand to hold, no one to say "Goodbye." to, and no one to tell him, "It'll be okay, Doctor." This video shows how afraid the Doctor is during the regeneration process. Ten was alone. He wasn't able to act brave.
Rogue and Team Yeah. Poor Ten, he had fabulous companions and not even one of them was there to comfort him when he regenerated. I am so glad the cast Matt Smith as the 11th doctor. His comedic entry was needed to cheer up us whovians after David Tennant left.
I also found out that the 10th Doctor's time only span a couple of years in comparison to 11's who was around for thousands.

Holy mother of Gallifrey! It's so trippy, it brings back feels. This video is a masterpiece! Fantastic, creepy animation, really love the artwork! "I don't want to go..."
What i think it is that the person who throws him is the watcher (I hope that's his name or im a idiot) disguised at Wilfred. The watcher in the 4th doctor regeneration became one with the doctor with the explanation that he was the doctor the whole time so what i think is that the same thing happened the watcher made the doctor regenerate. But that's just what i think
I think it was just a reference to how he died because y'know 'when disaster comes the devil will knock four times' and when the doctor thought all was well and he survived. He hears Wilfred knock four times.
So muck nostalgia. I miss when this was on Netflix, I would watch for hours. It literally took 5 shows to fill the empty void inside when it left Netflix.
Eleanor Rivera He was the best doctor was he? The guy who cried all the time? The guy who was so vain that he regenerated into himself? The guy who claimed to be about no second chances but gave chances to everyone? He was the only doctor to cry during a regeneration and he broke the promise of never showing cowardice. So yes he was the worst doctor.
Ed Stockham, who animated this, is brilliant. Alex is brilliant for inviting him to do this. (By the way Ed will be making a free personal appearance in London today-Sunday, 17 November 2013) singing informally at Tom Milsom's album launch event. on.fb.me/180i84h)
Holy fucking shit i remember having listened to this as a kid, this scared me to my core and made me think about reality and death itself. Nowadays this still slaps, it's been so long
Anyone else just randomly find this after all these years? Huge nostalgia
I remembered it randomly and decided to watch it again
it makes me sad 😢
It was the good times... when you didn't have to worry about life...

I haven't listened to this song since I was in middle school and now I'm 24!
i know same , i watched this when im 7 , im 13 now
I LOVE how the doctor's past regenerations are displayed as skeletons! It's a very cool way to look at it!
the 'i could do so much more' line along with the animation is just one of those brilliant moments in good music when it's physically heart wrenching to listen to. i really loved it.
this made me cry because the doctor is dying more than once in his life which is extremely painful. and he doesn't want to go. he doesn't want to leave the people he loves behind. but he has to.
I randomly had a fleeting memory of this and I'm so glad I found it again! Still gives me chills! The fourth doctor saying "I could do so much more!" and then the third breaking through the floor; utterly haunting!
It's been like a year since I've listened to Chameleon Circuit and I don't know why I ever stopped.
A concept sorta like this would be amazing for the 60th anniversary. It’d be like taking the “I don’t wanna go” part of 10 and ramping it up to 20.
I started listening to this and I cant stop!

Yes yes omg yes
This should be how 13 goes out but it won’t happen
@Astro Chaos well
I mean it didn't happen exactly like this
*but it was damn close shockingly*
This made me spit out my tea once the 11th doctor appeared, I
I just joined the fandom recently and damn....that hits so hard. It's painful but such a masterpiece. A big thanks to the person who creates this amazing song.
Look up all their songs ;)
On behalf of all Chameleon Circuit fans, please for the love of Galifrey take full advantage of the massive Doctor Who projects coming up soon. YOUR SONG MUST NEVER END!
Coming back years later, I only knew the 10th and 11th doctor and bits of the story for the show at the time. It's been a ride learning more and just seeing where things are now. I'm 20 now and im glad to grown up with the show, thank you for being a part of those memories.

A very depressing amount.
ok
feels
too many _curls up in a corner_
this is a work of art i used to watch this when i was 12
man i'm glad i'm not the only one being nostalgic, i remember my mom showing me this as a kid and it made me fall in love with indie animation and just art in general, i wanted to do things like this
I noticed how the doctor kinda just pics people up and gives them a near death experiences and then sends them home...
It's because they are thrill seakers if they don't want to go they won't make them
and yet so many of us woud gladly take that risk
That's the catalyst as to why alot of his companions hate him for a long time afterwards
Watch it once it once, come and come again!! I LOVE DOCTOR WHO no matter what regeneration
Ah I cried so hard during this video! That line "I don't want to go" really gets me every time and 10's regeneration scene is just heartbreaking. This is such an amazing video for this song ah!!
I remember watching this so many years ago, man the nostalgia trip having it pop up in my recommended...
legit
This just makes every regeneration 100000000000 times sadder
"I don't want to go"
*sheds tear*
"Its a scientific instrument, not a water pistol!"
A water pistol that can destroy skeletons
What are you going to do, assemble a cabinet at them?
We *NEED* a sequel called “The Doctor Is Dying, Again” with *David Tennant (AGAIN) regenerating into Ncuti Gatwa.*
Seriously, in December 2023 after the 3 BIGGEST specials are released.
Sadly the band has disbanded and some crazy things about Alex have been brought up
@@jude_dadude
Oh damnit
Alright, so as someone who sorta lost interest in DW during the current Moffat-era, this video/song made me feel super emotional and brought out that lil whovian in me that won't die, great job!
What really fucked me up was the previous doctors. Especially fourth. Because these doctors were so distiguishable and unique and seeing them as skeletons, only shadows of what they used to be, THAT IS REALLY MESSED UP.
Isabel Garcia ikr //sobbing//
Isabel Garcia I COULD DO SO MUCH MORE!
Isabel Garcia ikr
Isabel Garcia Its a video! GET OVER IT!
Doctor
I have cried over fictional characters and shipped their broken relationships. There is no longer a "Getting over".
I CAME HERE TO WATCH A VIDEO NOT TO DIE OF SADNESS
wat if dacreapi rn is not kill?
TheCreepy Rin Omg same
TheCreepy Rin tottaly
TheCreepy Rin I know right.. I'm literally this close to crying
SO TRUE!
Who else remembers this from their childhood?
;-; this makes me want to rewatch the series...
im gonna go do that now
I watched the finale of series four again
1:12 Tom get down! you had enough time as the doctor for now!
Longest running doc, and he's the one who yells "I CAN DO SO MUCH MORE!"
I DONT WANT TO GO. (Ik that's 10's line)
+Syd Russell Nederlands
this is like my favourite song now

I miss you David Tennant!
Fandyboy 33 he has some story's On big finsh
Same man, same.
Everytime I see another doctor I think they should be you
*Ten* nant
Same 😭😭😭
song: your going to regenerate
Me: THE FEELS
Allons-y (the tenth doctor phase) means lets go and the tenth doctors last words are I don't want to go.
That's what the fucker gets for running in without thinking up a plan...
Royce Ligtvoet If you actually paid attention to the show instead of foaming at the mouth over a reasonable point, you would notice he generally didn't make plans.
The Clockwork Intelligence
ITS A MUSIC VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK YOUUUUUUUUUU
Royce Ligtvoet Based on characters from a TV show, part of Ten's personality was forming plans at the last minute, now stop making yourself look like an idiot.
The Clockwork Intelligence
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
I must say, the hands down freakiest point was the skeleton doctors. Seeing that he was once them, but now they were gone, and they were not truly real. The "I could do so much more!" From 4 just showed how they all felt they needed more time to be truly there, and now they were just gone.... And knowing he would soon join them..... That would be terrible.....
;-;
******** I like the song it's cool like a bowtie : ) ;3 # matt smith said that
+liam stasinowsky technically 1, war, and 11 did. they died of age.
Honestly? 9 should have been the one to say the ''I could do so much more'' part, if you get what i'm saying.
the actor didn't like the role of 9th doctor.
I just rewatched this after 7 years and it's till really good. The animation is still better than most current animated tv programmes. Well done!
the line about wilfred is so much sadder in 2024
Why is that so? I’ve been outta the loop awhile, Wilfreds actor is still around right?
Yeah
I like to imagine Wilfred and the doctor star gaze a lot
This is probably my favourite Chameleon Circuit song- definitely my favourite off the second CD.
I've been watching since the reboot, but I didn't really "fall in love" with the show until Tennant arrived on the scene.
Don't get me wrong, I love the other two new doctors too, but Tennant will always be MY doctor.
The way 10 regenerates in this video is kind of how I wanted 11 to regenerate
Im realizing now, after years of not listening to this song, i can still hear it in the back of my mind. Fourth grade me was the first one to hear it, but now, 20 year old me, has this stuck forever in their head. My own sound of drums.
this still gets me every time :,(
This made a huge impact on me when I watched it for the first time 10 years ago, I still love Doctor Who. 💙
"One thing before you go, you'll be getting your reward."

Wilfred pushed him in... remember that... Wilfred did it... He killed the Doctor... blame him
10th: I don't want to go
12th: Doctor, I let you go.
I’ve came back to this video to relive my child hood, i’m now re watching every doctor who episode. Thank you doctor who for making my child hood amazing. - love mark
i’ll be back in 7 years (2027)
2 years down.
@@cogtheprotogen6671 Yup
I love how this video focused on what could have been the inner thoughts of ten while facing the prospect of regeneration: The skeletons of his past, his ultimate inability to run from his fate and the pain that having lived so many lives has left him with. Great video for an amazing song!
Had to come back to this masterpiece of a video. Excellent exploration of how regeneration might take a toll on the Doctor’s mind over time.
Just reminded me how much I love David Tennant as doctor... but how I was pleasantly surprised by Matt Smith when he started... though I'm pretty sure David will always be my fave, so thanks for this song xxx
Same here. Matt is amazing but i will always prefer David. There's just something about him that can't be replaced
his good looks?! x
Oh, Tennant. I miss him so much as the Doctor.
i came back 7 years later and i remember the panic and fear this song struck into me but it’s the most amazing thing i remember now
This is why it makes me mad when people call Ten a wuss and say, "Oh he's such a weak crybaby."
He already had to face not only death, but the fact that his whole personality would change. That's like someone walking around after you die, calling themselves you. But Ten had to face that alone. He had no hand to hold, no one to say "Goodbye." to, and no one to tell him, "It'll be okay, Doctor."
This video shows how afraid the Doctor is during the regeneration process. Ten was alone. He wasn't able to act brave.
That. Is. Not. Okay
Rogue and Team Yeah. Poor Ten, he had fabulous companions and not even one of them was there to comfort him when he regenerated. I am so glad the cast Matt Smith as the 11th doctor. His comedic entry was needed to cheer up us whovians after David Tennant left.
Also in the meta crisis. He says there's no need to regenerate. He liked that form.
2:45
DID HE JUST PUSH HIM OFF A CLIFF
thug
It's probably a reference to the moment that the doctor resqued wilfred and started dying of radiation
+TitanSdb yeah that makes sense
What i think it is that the person who throws him is the watcher (I hope that's his name or im a idiot) disguised at Wilfred. The watcher in the 4th doctor regeneration became one with the doctor with the explanation that he was the doctor the whole time so what i think is that the same thing happened the watcher made the doctor regenerate. But that's just what i think
I think it was just a reference to how he died because y'know 'when disaster comes the devil will knock four times' and when the doctor thought all was well and he survived. He hears Wilfred knock four times.
Eight Years ago I came across this video. I have never forgotten the "I could do so much more" part.
That is the best Doctor Who song Ever! I Love It.
that's what I said its awesome and the best song ever
So muck nostalgia. I miss when this was on Netflix, I would watch for hours. It literally took 5 shows to fill the empty void inside when it left Netflix.
Pugnado will it ever come back?
wow isnt it an amazingly amazing thing No...
I miss David so much and I wish he could come back for one more time apart from day of the doctor
It was sad when I saw him regerated
Who would like if the David was the 14th Doctor I think that would be fantastic but until then allons-y
+Eleanor Rivera David was the worst doctor. He is a lovely guy but his doctor was an ass. I hope big finish can fix his character.
+ravingmonkey216 fuck u bitch David was the best doctor if u don't see that u can ur chicken ass out of here
Eleanor Rivera He was the best doctor was he? The guy who cried all the time? The guy who was so vain that he regenerated into himself? The guy who claimed to be about no second chances but gave chances to everyone? He was the only doctor to cry during a regeneration and he broke the promise of never showing cowardice. So yes he was the worst doctor.
Been 10 years since this masterpice was made.
Damn we cried to this like we do watching Dr. Who! Excellent stuff!!
Fourth Doctor:I could do so much more
Me:YOU HAD SEVEN SEASONS
True lol
Holy fucking shit i remember having listened to this as a kid, this scared me to my core and made me think about reality and death itself. Nowadays this still slaps, it's been so long
