I got a 460 saw kit to build and saw you were recommending the HLIC carburetor for the best aftermarket option. I appreciate you taking the time to bless us with that knowledge before I forked out the money for OEM. Trying to build the best quality saw at the lowest possible amount that information is priceless.
I have a theory on the Anacaba carbs. It’s the diaphragms! It’s a $15 fix to put a Walbro diaphragm in em but so far it works. Same thing with the HiLic 372 carbs. I’ll keep up with em and let you know.
@@shawnbillingsley1688 hey Shawn.. I thought that you had said, and maybe you didn't but somehow I attributed it to you that on the 372 hlics it was the blow off pressure. Maybe the spring for the metering lever. Not the diaphragm cuz I'm almost certain I've swapped those on them before. And I can't recall, but I think I've used both the tan and the black diaphragm, grasping at straws. Those anacdba, the anaconda carb. I'm not even putting any more time into any of them. If I had a dollar for time that I putting in the junk carbs, well I'd have beer money. I'd have a lot of beer money. I mean a lot. A lot of beer money
@@bulletproofsaws Yessir. I have repaired a few of those by clipping a few coils off spring or replacing with spare Walbro springs. I do still think it’s the diagrams and I think they stretch if that makes sense. I get that from the ones I pull out are very distorted vs the OE ones. I also have a few each running with Walbro diagrams and aren’t having issues. I’m gonna put a new Hylic 372 carb with Walbro on on my 2172 and see how it acts from the get go. I’ll let you know.
So, what's the mechanical/operational difference between the Blue and the Orange G466's? Are the blue G466's still coming with that crappy carb on Amazon today?
@@Condor1970 Blue and orange are the same. The I'm not sure about as some of that should be older stock and potentially has a better carb on it. I've been getting a lot of calls for help on eBay and Amazon saws that seem like they're seconds. I don't have the whole story yet and I'm trying to put it together. I think you'd be safer with a blue 466, but I surely not guarantee that. And ffs you should be buying them from bluesaws anyway. LOL this is literally turning into the g372 crap carb all over again on a model that was fine
