In 1997 I saw Diana perform in Connecticut. I was in the front row. I became overwhelmed when she began to perform Good Morning Heartache and I rose my hand out to her. Diana was half way across the stage from where I was seated but when she saw me she immediately walked towards me. With the microphone in one hand,Diana so graciously rubbed her heart with her other hand, then kissed her hand before extending it out to hold my hand. She then held my hand half way through the song. I will never forget this cherished moment with this beautiful woman.

That's a really special moment, and a unique way for her to show her love and appreciation to you.
I got to work with her on an all-day photo shoot.
At the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles, Donna Summer was walking across the stage singing She Works Hard for the Money, and sang this: She Works Hard for the Money - Hi Scotty - So Hard for it Honey....
I got to work with Donna on a few projects and we were friends for many years.
Diana teased me, I teased her, and I liked her very much... and as soon as I got home I called Donna Summer to tell her about the shoot. I told her the song I FEEL LOVE came on the radio and I turned it up, but Diana came over with hands on her hips and said, "Scott! Could you play something that I like?" lol. I laughed, and said of course, as Diana pointed to tapes and CDs on the floor with the toe of her red sequined shoe. I have feathers from her feather boa and some of her fake nails in my scrapbook from that shoot.
Diana was a pro, very glamorous and moves well and can seduce any camera. I liked her very much.
Years later, Donna and Diana met at an airport and Donna approached her and introduced herself. They became great friends after that, and Donna was the very first person Diana wanted at the DIVAS tribute to Diana Ross, which Donna was delighted to do. swsfraser @ gmail

She went straight to the top in Lady Sings. Only one way to go after that. Her movie career suffered but Lady still stands as Motown's most greatest achievements. The guy behind Empire is making another movie about Miss Billie Holiday but there's only one first and Miss Diane Ernestine Ross Silberstein Naess did it.

Do you mean Audra? Yes in the play Audra was stunning but thankfully we ( well I have at least) the capability of enjoying the many interpretations of Lady Day's work without having to think one is better than the other... its a bit like forgiving people for not being able to spell....
