It feels magically fitting to see you play in a train station... I regularly travel between Sweden and Switzerland by train, and your duo CD has for me become a companion piece for these long trips. Many stressful, sleepless nights have been enlightened by your inspiring music. Thank you!
The pretty lady is playing an alto Flauto Ricordare. The gentleman is playing the Nyckelharpa. The music is Praeludium (opening piece) from Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonata for Solo Violin #6 in E. This video is brilliantly executed, both onsite and also in post-production!
Beeie - the recorder Kristine West is playing is a Mollenhauer Modern with E foot extension (so it plays the E below the usual lowest F for an alto). This one is in Grenadilla and costs an arm and a leg (around £1,300). They are harmonic recorders too, which is why they can play the low notes so strongly. However, if you check out some other of her recordings she plays a Moeck Rottenburgh which also sounds beautiful.
BRAVO! Are people around you deaf? This is BACH! It could easily be a Musician's Anthem! Stand to (rapt) Attention! Kudos to the performers. I'd gladly miss my train to listen to this version. Harry, India
What a charming girl this Kristine ! Lucky who will marry this angel. Erik has a lot of luck playing with this pretty girl and take a coffee with her. He looks like a cool guy
Hello Kristine! We would like to use this video on www.classicfm.com and also associated social media channels with a credit back to you. Can you let me know if this is okay? You can also contact lucy.quaggin@global.com. Thanks
You guys look like you're having a whole lot of fun. And that's the most important thing.

Oh my God ... if I had this subway station I would be drooling and watching these geniuses playing ...
I've missed this until now, love it! For some reason nyckelharpa seems so fit baroque music so well! And the recorder playing is outstanding as usual!

Magnifico!
What I'm witnessing is the Joshua Bell effect where he played beautiful music in the NYC subway and everybody ignored him as they walked by.
My heart is delighted. God bless you !!
Meravigliosamente stupenda esecuzione.
Bravissimi 🙏🌹💯

This performance should have drawn an audience. It was a high standard performance.
Most people are stupid en like football playing only.
Drew lots of us on line!
So joyful. Thank you for the performance and the sweet film that captures the event.
Great work, people that above all enjoy the music they play - and we enjoy their performance.
Those recorders with such a sweet tone are simply heavenly. Amazing performance! I wonder what it would've sounded like live.

"Rushing to the subway - no time to lose" - The Hep Stars (With Benny Andersson, later of ABBA fame)

Hi, congrats ! Kristine, please could you give us some details on this 'strange' keyed recorder ?
The key is used to reach the low E and third register without using the knee
@@ogechterLooks like a Mollenhauer Modern Recorder with E-foot in Grenadilla to me
Vielen Dank so schön ❣️
Espectacular!!!
When people are just walking past such great musicians, Wow, what hope does the average busker have ?
Bravo bravisimi
Nicely done!
MUITO LINDO 👏👏👏😍
Brillantissime!
Fantastico, complimenti!
what's the name of the string instrument? an enchanted mix of a violin, a mandolin and an accordion?
The instrument is called : Nyckelharpa
hronir Looks like some autoharp action going on
Toppen. Verkligen fint.

What's the 'violin'?
WoooooW

Modell?
111bonus Stämmer! Mollenhauer modern alt
what kind of a “fiddle” is that?

It looks like violin+hurdy gurdy
Right! The main difference is that the Nyckelharpa is played with a bow instead of a wheel!
I can grok it.
Acoustics do not match the video. Sound was recorded elsewhere. I wonder why acoustics of the scene are always neglected
Name Make and model of the recorder please
I wonder if he'll get $37 in tips like Joshua Bell did in the Washington DC subway station.
