Oh how much darker the world would be without Bach!! Well played!
I can't even imagine a world without Bach.
@Anna Dayton And with the wretched pop "music" of today, we HAVE gone "Bach"! But with a good Liszt of the classics, we can get a much better Handel on great music, otherwise life, as I'm sure you know, would B-flat!
@@captebbtide Enjoyed your witty comment! My first love is baroque music but I do enjoy modern music in all it's form (if I can see some real creativity. But the again, who am I to judge).
@@concretejungle7513 You have every right to judge! I believe you have an excellent taste in fine music, thank goodness we have RUclips to help us refine our experiences with classical music.
Or handel,, I adore the baroque period, if I had to choose from a favourite I always styugge trying to choose by between Bach or Handel or even telemann, or actually Vivaldi,, he hs SO much more than 4 seasons, but yes a life without Bach would be unthinkable
Dear Kristine!
This recording made me crying, it makes me remembering to a music school competition concert when I was around 18, and I was playing Bach's BWV1033 on a treble recorder. When I was playing that sonata's 3rd movement, I saw a couple sitting in the last row. Then I was watching them, and played it for them. After the piece, I was crying a bit.
I could not learn this one [bwv1034 in this video] when I was a kid, I didn't have the score, and even I couldn't play the highest Fis note on my cheap alto recorder.
I had a CD, and this Bach e-minor was the favourite track on that disc. It was an album of a local trio, with a harpsichord, a viola da gamba and a recorder player.
My music teacher told me not to learn professional recorder music even I'm talented, because in my country (Hungary) musicians aren't well paid, and I was also talented in electronics, so I learned electrical engineering, and later, pipe organ building.
Now I can afford a better recorder, and sometimes I play in a local church orchestra, in some Bach church music containing a recorder part.
I've found an old recording when - as a teenager kid - I've played Vivaldi's sopranino recorder concerto in c-major.[edit: the video is on my RUclips channel.]
È molto bello quello che hai scritto..... Grazie per aver condiviso questa storia del tuo passato.....
Thank for your beautiful memory. I am a physics teacher in Viet Nam and hope to be like you, a pipe organ builder.

A bit!?
I bawled my eyes out!!!!
Dammit man!
I'm fifty times more sensitive than you!

I hope next year's better.

si.
Finally some recorder players with no identity crisis ... clean and very beautiful !!
what do you mean?

@@elishevatauber8914 people who play popular instruments often feel the need to overexpress themselves and it ends up making the piece sound worse.
@@yonatanbeer3475 Can't blame them. There are too many panists or violinsists out there, and there's a need to stand out. Assuming that's what you meant by "popular instruments".
@@user-dc1ud6px3s yeah, precisely.
There is something that feels so genuine about this recording, you can tell they really love and feel the music they are playing. Especially the harpsichordist haha
Every flutist admits that Bach's flute sonata in e-minor is very excellent.
Especially, regarding 4th movement Allegro, despite the fact
that it's so hard for modern flutists, she is playing it so brilliantly
and accurately. It's very astonishing .
Besides, her alto recorder performances are extremely artistic.
From Tokyo
I needed to listen to this today - it lifted my spirits and reminded me that there is great beauty in life.
Yet again, Michajeru, I totally with your comment about the beauty of the music and playing.
6:07 my favorite part. She sounds like a lovely bird. I come back and listen to this vid all the time.
me too
An excellent group of very musical and skillful musicians. They have a great Baroque sensibility.
West's recorder playing in the andante is brilliant( the whole composition is masterpiece but for me it's all about the andante) but I think credit also needs to be given to the continuo players and the sound engineers as well. The harpsichord accompaniment is fluid and alive- it can sound very square and clunky in other recordings. West is superb at unspooling an exquisitely connected thread of sound, her tone and control are amazing. Wrenchingly beautiful. Bravo all!
The harpsichord player is having a great time! Great performance!
If you played harpsichord you’d be making those faces too
his smile at -5:09 though, this is how music should be played, sholuld be felt
BACH BACH BACH! And three musicians who know how He must be played. Thanks for me and Unser Vater JS BACH!
5:07 - and for just a few seconds everything in the world seemed right and perfect...
Your colleague on the harpsichord is absolutely loving it!! 😂 Beautiful music thank you again
3:28 the harpsichord harmonising with the recorder! Fabulous.
Loved it! I makes me want to go practice my recorder. And it makes me want to buy a harpsichord and learn to play cello.
I'm still trying to figure out who in the world would push thumbs down for such a beautiful thing like this!
Idiots!
people who're aware of 18th century tempi and 18th century continuo sources, just to name a few
Hateful people who are stupid
it seems that with every 2k visitors there are 25 morons
Well, they can't be any good... they aren't flopping around like fish on the bank... everyone *knows* that's how you make early music good;-)
I do love all musicians here...their emotional way of playing. The Allegro must be very difficult to play...especially for the recorder. I do like the soft and fluent way of playing. Professionally!
Bravo!! 💥✨👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Heavenly music from JS Bach performed beautifully by the original instruments trio, bravo. The original is in e minor for baroque flute transposed into g minor for playability on the alto recorder. This used to be one of my own favorite "show-off" recorder sonatas at many concerts for its technical virtuosity and beauty. Pure fun to play!
What kind of recorder is she playing? Sounds so unique and awesome.
Masterful playing by all three musicians! Yes, the alto recorder is a serious instrument! Bravi! (And what a visually and acoustically fabulous setting!)
The recorder is a serious instrument period.
Bach lives !
I never knew how amazing the recorder could be, great play, Bravo!
Bravo !!! Y que hermoso lugar para hacer música del Gran J. S. Bach
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful performance by all three musicians. Love the recorder tone.
Love all the parts but, especially the Recorder. Wow. Fantastic.
this is so beautiful, i didn't expect to cry but i couldn't stop
I keep coming back to this. The harpsichordist during the allegro is contagious and the articulation is wonderful.
Their performance Ís something Incredible, and Incredible feelings , and Incredible comfort, and Incredible beauty
pure goodness ..lovely tones …Bach at his best and these players are a joy
treble recorder, played excellently in an excellent trio.
but is it the same tune in e minor?
@@andreainzaghi7373It was transposed up a third to g minor to suit the treble recorder register.
I preferred this ensemble unit and recording place I’m listening long time. Thanks ladies and gentlemen.❤
