is it worth considering upgrading the PI system to modern fully electronic engine management using systems such as Megasquirt or Omex as this will give much greater adjustability and reliability as well as getting rid of the notorious Lucas system. Authenticity does not seem to be a primary goal as you are changing the cam for an aftermarket one and lightening the flywheel and recalibrating the Lucas mechanical system will be a fraught mission. Just changing the timing chain and sprockets will pep up the power on its own. I have never seen a duplex chain stretch so much as here! Possibly poor previous maintenance?
Hi and many thanks. Is it possible to install a UK sorced 150hp fuel injected engine into a US TR6? If yes, what mods would be necessairy? Kind greetings, Andreas
Yes it is. It’s a straight fit. Just remember you need all the supporting fuel system and tank . The power actually comes from the head, cam and compression so you could achieve the power on a carbs setup
As usual a fantastic series of videos. Thank you for sharing. I too have… Replaced the cam (fastcam88) Bore out the cylinders Was fortunate to have Mr. Malcolm Jones of Prestige before retiring to build me a complete set of metering unit, throttle bodies, linkages, and injectors. My car here in California does run rich and I didn’t know how to adjust the mixture. A few days ago I saw a gentleman on RUclips (pink TR6) adjusting the mixture by turning the nuts on top of the metering unit counter clockwise to adjust the mixture, have no idea which way to lean and which way to rich, how much to turn it. Do you know how to adjust the mixture? Should a I even attempt it? Much thanks. Sam
Great work. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
thanks for watching

EFI would be nice and is the ultimate solution for the TR6. Might go there in the future. Thanks for watching
