For the quail hoop coop, could you put hinges on the wood panels that are on either side of the door? That way it would be easy to just open them on nice days (and during summer) and close them during bad weather.
I really feel like it is a complete blessing that the Lord lead me to your channel a couple of years back now. With all of the craziness in the world you bring a much needed sanity break. Thank you so much.
“THANK YOU!!!”, for speaking so kindly to your animals. It shows that you appreciate that the animals are giving of themselves, to assist in your survival.
You know, I don't have a farm I actually live in an apartment in the city but I love to watch you build these things for your animals. I'm 62 and disabled so I don't think I'll ever have a farm of my own now but I so enjoy watching you both build these structures for your animals and how well you take care of them all. Keep up the good work.❤
Good job! My expression around my place is something my Dad said to me once when we were building a hen house. Namely, "Can't see it from the highway". But in the end, close enough is perfect.
Great video... I just love seeing you guys with all the animals during your morning routine. The chickens running after Kevin and the ducks running/flying to their trough, squawking for Kevin to hurry up with their breakfast was hilarious. Babe is an absolutely beautiful creature. ❤
I sit here watching and see how God is so good to us, so good. He’s provided everything for us, only 99% of people don’t see it that way. I’m so sad….I’m sorry, but I am. Amos has been raided again and I just hurt for him. Take care dear LTH. God Bless you ♥️✝️
Thanks for educating the masses about milk letdown. As a dairy farm kid, i was always amazed at what my suburban neighbors did not know, because we grew up learning about it during vet visits or reading industry magazines and newspapers.
Good morning all. Up in St. Charles County we received a blanket of snow but the streets are clear. Have a great day and may Jesus Christ be with all and keep you safe. ❤ 🙏❤
Better safe than sorry. The forecasters can only predict what machines provide and Mother Nature can change her mind at any time. Thanks for sharing with us and taking us along on the morning chores and just in case things you do to prepare for a storm and cold weather. Stay safe and keep having fun. Fred.
We ended up getting snow yesterday after all. Not alot and it has pretty much all melted already. Now it’s just a big muddy mess! The ducks love it though.
Tim in video : 6 : 55 Sorry but the cream is in ALL the milk , not just the last part as you stated . Have hand milked Jersey cows for some time and cream comes out .
Enjoyed how you both work together and plan everything out. Nature is definitely unpredictable but you're ready for whatever comes your way. Thank you for sharing. God's blessings
Just a thought..... why not try giving each poultry house an 'address'! And with a marker, you could number the address 'parts' for each one, so four instance...Coop 1..and the parts to that coup's winter coverings..Coop 1 R for right & L for left Front or back! 😀....Coup 1-Coup 1-R or Coop 1-L ....
Hello, how fun was it to watch all of your flocks come running, i love watching them, even the little straggler running so fast to catch! What a wonderful way to wake up in the morning. Thank you
HAPPY to see you guys got this all done. Ever notice how the Lord gets us ready for what's to come? I'm a last minute type person and sometimes it takes me a- "here ya go, " to get me moving. I'm learning, to be prepared, no matter what the outcome is. Watching Mark Sudduth ( HurricaneTrack) talking about heading out to your neck of the woods, yesterday, perked up my ears. Thinking about you guys, and Grandpa Doss Farms. If you watch Mark, he is planning on being there for an extended amount of time, because it looks like 4 storms, back to back heading you way. Stay safe!
Calf is looking great! They say meat /beef from a calf raised on Jersey milk is some of the best you can have! That's what a butcher/processor told us.
Great video guys. Love the way you have things set up. You know how the weather guessers are...wrong about 70% of the time, but now your one step ahead. Take care ya'll.
We got 1.5 inches today going to get a bunch of snow throughout the week here in Northern Illinois. Blessings. I like to put heads of cabbage for our 2 flocks of chickens in the winter months- they enjoy eating them. Blessings to everyone.
Yes, as a young boy my granddad and I hand milked our two before I went to school. We would turn the calf in on the other side and he would "get her going". Quite a memory...
Good morning Kevin and Sarah!! I find myself saying “that’s a good job done” like Sarah says a lot. I need to add “it’s not perfect, but it’s good enough” like Kevin says. 😉 Ralphie’s so cute 🥰. I have a 3 week old Jersey/Dexter bull calf “Hosanna” that is so stinking cute too!! Love our Jersey milk 🥛 🧡 Lorie 😊 P.S. I hope you’re getting turkey chicks in the spring, I’m planning on getting some too 😊
I love how well you care for your flock! ❤ Mine are in “lock down” after several eagles/hawks decided our yard was a good hang out to hunt by the bird feeder. Now we have snow coming and I’m planning to heat up some oatmeal for them before going to bed. Yes, they love warm oatmeal with chopped apples. 😊
Love Saturday mornings with you and your animals. Always a treat to see your planning and clever solutions! The Lord has certainly blessed you and I see how thankful you are. So refreshing and encouraging!!
Dont worry we got your snow in Illinos. Im 30 minutes south of Chicago and it snowed an inch or so last night and we are getting more now. I have seen possibility of 2 blizzards for us this week coming up. Thank you Kevin and Sarah for all your awesome cooking videos. This Christmas I found a Nessco for $50 cant wait to do my tomatoes for juice and sauce in it instead of my crockpot. Have a blessed 2024.
I have been loving including Keto food prep in your videos. I have lots of food allergies + inflammation, so I took the carnivore route last year. Dropped 30 lbs. + then added my garden veggies back in. So I am KetoVore - still focused on meat the most. But boy what a difference. When I eat grains, I can sure 'feel' the joint pain returning. Keeps me honest. So keep up the great work. Love you guys ! Retired in Wisconsin (snow storm today)
I dont have animals, know nothing about Farming, as a child my Grandfather and Granduncle did have a very large Garden growing Vegetables, this is the closest I came, I have been watching your channel for quite some time, I watch how the two of you work together! And your relationship, your ethics, your attitudes are to be commended. And an inspiration to all married couples. GOD Bless and I will continue to follow, as long as you Post.
I’ve had hubs watch your hoop coop building videos trying to convince him we need those!! Thanks for all you share. My garden last year was so easy because of you two. Woven weave fabric and drip tape system! Now I want raised beds……lol
Neat idea for keeping the top, hinged section of the quail coop closed. Maybe a quicker-to-make alternative would be to shave the lower portion of the 2x4 into a wedge so it would slide into the top metal brace and through the lower metal brace (the lower one would therefore just be a guide to keep 2x4 vertical 9so no welding required on bottom brace. Also you could make the braces yourself (different sizes) if you have some spare strips of metal. If the braces you bought only fit a 4x2, then gluing and/or nailing .a small wedge on either side of the top of the 4x2 would allow the wood to slide through the brace until it hit the wedged section. Love your videos!!
Thanks for the thorough explanation of once a day milking. And GOOD ENOUGH.. is my middle name. Someone once said ( probably all the time).. being a Perfectionist is an annoyance to YOURSELF and Others.
The three stages of life. When your younger you want it done prefectly. When your middle aged you want it done well. When you get older you embrace, good enough.😊
I'm glad you got the birds ready for colder weather! We are still waiting for winter in MN. Usually by this time we have a brief warmup. We can still get a whole lot of snow before it's suddenly summer 😊
I love your glasses! Lookin' good! This AZ Nurse Judi has been watching since day one! I LOVE your channel. I've got a great New years resolution for you, Mommy. Start your vids in 2024 with a look at your T-shirts. Sometimes, it takes me all vid to read your beautiful shirts. Thank you! 💙 prayers for you all daily 🙏🏻 ❤️ 💛 Nurse Judi 🙏🏻 in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister 🙏🏻 ❤️ Are you going to be grandparents 🙏🏻 yet? I bet you are. Lol. Any wedding pics? ❤
I appreciate how clean and tidy you keep you whole homestead! The extra care and attention is noticed! It is a joy to watch you work together.
For the quail hoop coop, could you put hinges on the wood panels that are on either side of the door? That way it would be easy to just open them on nice days (and during summer) and close them during bad weather.
Totally agree. They are a real team 💪
I really feel like it is a complete blessing that the Lord lead me to your channel a couple of years back now. With all of the craziness in the world you bring a much needed sanity break. Thank you so much.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, PEACE AND PEACE WITH BLESSINGS 🙏 ❤
💚A dream homestead. Hope to see mine become at least a third of that!💚
“THANK YOU!!!”, for speaking so kindly to your animals. It shows that you appreciate that the animals are giving of themselves, to assist in your survival.
The running of the ducks! My favorite!
"Good enough is perfect". That saves a lot of money and a lot of stress on the natural world. We need to take that attitude much more.
You know, I don't have a farm I actually live in an apartment in the city but I love to watch you build these things for your animals. I smile and laugh every time Kevin lets out the ducks. I love to watch them drink too. It just makes my whole day. Hugs Sarah and Kevin ❤
My dear Dad would tell me, your time is valuable, don’t waste it reinventing the wheel. Well done.
Very true!
Thank you for getting us out of the kitchen and out to the farm……. Love to see all the animals ❤
Babe is such a pretty cow.❤
Good job! My expression around my place is something my Dad said to me once when we were building a hen house. Namely, "Can't see it from the highway". But in the end, close enough is perfect.

Life away from stress 💪
Your animals are lucky to have such good caregivers.
Babe has really taken to milking. She is so calm waiting for you to get to her. Ralphie is adorable.
The new milking equipment has made a huge difference with Babe!! She is doing almost as well as Hope did!!
It’s so nice to see you two working together, it helps us forget the wars and suffering going on in Europe and elsewhere. I am a retired farmer.
I sit here watching and see how God is so good to us, so good. He’s provided everything for us, only 99% of people don’t see it that way. I’m so sad….I’m sorry, but I am. Amos has been raided again and I just hurt for him. Take care dear LTH. God Bless you ♥️✝️
Who's Amos ?
Thanks for educating the masses about milk letdown. As a dairy farm kid, i was always amazed at what my suburban neighbors did not know, because we grew up learning about it during vet visits or reading industry magazines and newspapers.
Good morning. I love watching the silkies run out of the coop! They are sooo cute.
I was going to say the same! Adorable.
Love watching you interact with your animals when you do chores. ❤
Good morning all. Up in St. Charles County we received a blanket of snow but the streets are clear. Have a great day and may Jesus Christ be with all and keep you safe. ❤ 🙏❤

my dad used to say "it's great weather for ducks " when it was wet and dreary 👍😊🇦🇺🇺🇸
Wow Ralphie is growing fast. Have a great day, be blessed.
Yep, that Jersey milk will do that!
"I keep calling it the duck house; but, it's the duck, AND goose house"
Maybe you can call it the,
'Duck, Duck, Goose house'
Good enough = reuse or repurpose. Love to see this.
Good morning 🙏😊
Watching your videos on Saturday morning is always a great way to start my weekend!🥰
Have a wonderful weekend
Tim in video : 6 : 55 Sorry but the cream is in ALL the milk , not just the last part as you stated . Have hand milked Jersey cows for some time and cream comes out .
I always thought the waddle of the duck and geese from behind was cute but those fluffy fuzzy butted Silky a running tops everything.
Thanks for the video. It must take you 2-3 more time to film everything than if you just got on with it. Thanks for taking the time.
Good Morning guys. Your animals are all so beautiful. Stay warm😊❤️
Sarah
Dont forget to give your little ones a pine branch to play with…. Lol
Hopefully storm goes away from you
God bless you all
Linda from Ct
Those tin snips sure are nifty, I`m sure the birds appreciate the added windbreak.
Enjoyed how you both work together and plan everything out. Nature is definitely unpredictable but you're ready for whatever comes your way. Thank you for sharing. God's blessings
You two look so healthy. It's like you've turned back time
Love how you always have such a simple solution for everything that anyone can do.
Babe is a good mom. So sweet to see. Thank you.❤
I just love starting my Saturday mornings with your videos. Thank you

That is a great looking jersey, her conformation is near perfect.

A+ Hoop Coop Winterizing The coop design is a Home-Run
❤ thankful your still moving on to still doing this. God bless I'm going to miss you both if you two stop doing this online 🌹
Great video guys. Love the way you have things set up. You know how the weather guessers are...wrong about 70% of the time, but now your one step ahead. Take care ya'll.
Love your coops ! You guys did a great job securing them ! ❤
Watching the ducks come out gives new meaning to “a mighty rush of wings”!
Love your videos especially on Saturday mornings ❤
Such a good feeling to have it done and can sleep well knowing the birds will sleep well. Thank you. God Bless and stay safe.
I love how much joy Waddlesville brings!
Woah! You two are aging in reverse! You are both looking GREAT!!
Well, that was a good job done! There is always a project waiting when you live on a homestead. Stay warm! It’s been chilly here in northern Florida.
We got 1.5 inches today going to get a bunch of snow throughout the week here in Northern Illinois.
Blessings. I like to put heads of cabbage for our 2 flocks of chickens in the winter months- they enjoy eating them. Blessings to everyone.
Learn something new every day.. Didn’t know that about cows four different compartments
Y'all stay warm😊❤

Love those silkies. They look like they’ve got on their furry snow suits! Those tin cutters are a game changer.
Wonderful progress & beautiful animals! Thanks for sharing 🤗🇨🇦
Thanks for my favorite. I loved when you always let the ducks out at the old home stead.
Love the back side of the quail pen with your wielded piece preventing the 2x4 from slipping through! Nice video.
If you don't have a welder, just run a screw part way through the 2x4 so it won't fall through 👍😊🇦🇺🇺🇸

The weather in MO will surprise us every time! Thanks for another great vid.❤
Time to button up the place!
Good morning! Thank you for showing us how to make the coops. I love your videos.
The Hoop Coops are really good ideas. You have put a lot of imagination into making them as comfortable as possible.
Sarah, I love your chore coat! What brand is it? The longer length would be great.
Thanks for posting! Love this channel

Thanks for all you share. My garden last year was so easy because of you two. Woven weave fabric and drip tape system! Now I want raised beds……lol
Another informative video. Thanks Kevin & Sarah!
For me, the tin snip drill attachment was the best tip out of this whole video!!😁 Definitely going to be looking for one.😍

Great job on all!
