At this point you can just go with Jira or Trello and you won't exclude not Apple product users. Trello is simple enough while Jira gives much more customization.

the point of the video was to create a personal kanban that could be effective but without all the (great but) distracting features of apps like the ones you mentioned. 😄 Jira for example is an enterprise-level tool - overkill for this.

And people could use Windows Sticky Notes, Obsidian, etc., with largely the same features.

Please add TOC/Chapters to your videos. That makes it easier to find topics. Thanks

I enjoy your videos. thank you. For stickies, I don't see how you got to your first view with the colums etc. I click stickies and just get stickies floating over my screen. Is it because I have an older operating system? I'm on Monterey.

Thanks! You’re right I didn’t mention it. The column headers are just normal stickies, placed where the column headers would be. Same for the swim lanes.

Question: Your video plays of against a clean blue background. Maybe I missed it, but I could not determine on what "backboard" you were working. For instance: Your Column Headers and Row headers - what is that written on? Since Sticky's are just little floating papers - what dit you use to create the rest of your layout? And can you close everything with one click and open everything again, with one click as one would open & close an app?

The entire layout is made out of stickies, including the headers for both swimlanes and columns.I've just reshaped them to the right size. As it's all done in a single app, you can quit it as you normally do (CMD-Q) but probably the most useful thing is to keep it running in the background, maybe in a specific desktop.

@Patrick-NP I think what @SasduPlessis is asking about is the background itself and I have the same question I understand the lanes, columns and task notes are all stickies. But what are they stuck to? What is the blue background? Is it a dedicated desktop on the Mac?

I see - the stickies were placed on a specific desktop on my Mac, which had a blue wallpaper.

It’s “Stickies”. It’s included by default in every Mac.

I think it would be more useful use the color coding for "lanes", not for columns.

Feel free to customise it the way you prefer - I just wanted to show the principles behind it 👍🏻
