    Duane and my dad, Mike McGuire of Valley Arts Guitar, became great friends years and years ago. Duane gifted my dad one of his blonde Gretsch beauties. Such an honor to have this in my family! I'm not able to share a picture, these comments won't let me add one.

    The song is called Rebel Rouser. Really easy song to learn, classic Duane Eddy.

    I've got a 1997 model , love it .

      Does it have trestle-bracing ? I seem to be a minority in preferring minimal “indoors” stuff. I ask you if yours has a single sound-post connecting the top and back because of the year you stated (1997, yah ?) The Eddie Cochran signature model is totally empty inside (at least, according to my research). Perhaps I’ll email Joe Carducci to ask what choices I have. 🤔

    Duane Eddy died 30 April 2024, sadly. A real nice player with those beautiful Gretchs. He did use other makes, but the Gretch has the sound.

    Longer pins are a good idea for restringing Duane, but a StringRay Tool makes it even better! Guaranteed!

    @pedrogoldfinger Fender does the development and distribution for Gretsch anyway, so they won't be losing customers over that... (technically, Fred Gretsch III still owns Gretsch)

    The tweed amp(champ?) is there for looks but it's a terrible choice for a Gretch hollow as the massive bass just rattles that little box. He's plugged into something bigger down below there. Mine sounds good through a Blues Jr.

    Changing strings on a Bigsby isn't hard, all you need is a capo to hold the strings in place as you insert the string to wind it... 'though his story was cool...

    Lovelu guitar... but I would prefere it with a Tune-o-matic bridge.

    • @Babillonia
      @Babillonia 7 лет назад +1

      Marco Zucchi - tunamatic bridge don’t sustain as much as this truArc bridge. I believe the reason is that the contact area bet. The strings & the bridge is bigger on the truArc bridge. I have both bridges and I’ve tried them.
