Maybe you could go to Speed Bump Garage who is the dad of Grow Jack Outdoors and have him look at fix up the Beast. I remember a previous video where they came down to see you and Houston. I would love to see that reunion and they just got a million subscribers so it could help both channels. Take care my friends and stay safe. 😊❤😊
That would be a great collaboration!
Great idea 💡!!!
I was thinking the same thing!
May have told you this before but i will say it again. When the Great depression hit my grandpa had just bought cattle he wasn't going to be able to pay the loan from the bank the cattle were worthless. He found a way and was running trap lines at night cause he had to work the farm during the day. This got the family through the depression and the dust bowl. The farm is still belongs to the family and has for well over 100 years. Have a good night and may your days be blessed stay safe
Daniel, the van is really cool. I would definitely get rid of the heater and the stove and go to a camping world dealer and get yourself a new stove, heater and AC unit. Never worry about going to sleep and not waking up. Be safe !!
I enjoy all your videos.. short, long, and in between!! Watching the Arms Family videos puts a smile on my face! Thank you for sharing your family with us. Good luck with the beast! She will be a work in progress!
I agree, I have had other video creators I have watched over the years and most all of them have gone by the wayside for me. Arms Family Homestead is the only one I still watch from my early days of watching videos. I look forward to seeing them every week. I can’t always stop what I am doing immediately but the first chance I get, I watch them. Love them all too no matter the circumstances or content. I have learned so many lessons right along with Houston. The best video creator in my opinion out of the 30 or so I have watched over the past years. Brings me joy and a smile to my face.
Totally agree!!! ❤️🙂
PLEASE KEEP SARAH IN YOUR PRAYERS, I HOPE EVERYTHING IS GOING GOOD FOR HER AND THE CHILDREN.
Daniel, what ever happened with the owl you brought to the bird clinic???
I've been an rv tech for 18 years. all you need is a stand alone converter for yor van. you plug it in to 110v AC and it produces around 13.5 v DC. this would get you what you are looking for. You will run 2 battery cables from the converter over to your fuse panel.
The hearer needs to be serviced, the carbon build up trips the high limit and kills it due to low exhaust flow.
Grandaddy showed this country gal how to dye and wax traps back in the early 80s. So glad he did.... I miss him.
Daniel I don’t mind your long videos, they are alway very informative and enjoyable.
Also check for dirt daubers in the heating system. They wreak havoc on RV heaters.
You might want to reconsider the spray foam for insulation in the door panels. That’s pretty permanent and you might find you need those places for storage. You could have a seamstress create inserts for those areas that could be removed if needed for storage. That would be the best of both worlds!
Or get upholstery foam that can be stuffed in & removed as needed. It will insulate & muffle sounds.
agree with that access to wiring etc in foam is not good. rock wool or roxul or sheeps haveelock wool would be alot better
You can buy the rubber matting that has adhesive on the back. It doesn't take up room and reduces noise and vibration.
Houston, feel better buddy! So sorry you are sick. Praying for ya all.
I like the long videos. I also like you ending them like Cameraman Ron did. What a great tribute to him, and a good reminder to people to do something nice for others every day. What a good man you are! 💜
I’m disabled and bedridden, so I love long videos that can help with my boredom. Loved this one 👍
Plug the inverter that came with the van into an AC outlet on Your Portable charge generator box and wire the inverter that came with the van DC output to buss bar. Hook the roof panels to the charge generator input to charger the unit.
What he said!
The heater is a big concern with no fuel gage as well .. if it runs from the fuel, you will go thru a lot that way as well
Should work exactly as shanty stated!!😅
I would still run one battery off of one of the solar panels to use for your dc system and use the other solar panels to run your ac system.
I agree with taking the inverter and plugging it into AC that came with the van and so forth and so on with the gentleman said I am an electrician and I believe that is the best way to do it
I am sorry Houston is down with the crud. I hope Houston, DJ, and all the family get better soon and can enjoy the spring-like weather.
Of course it has issues. That’s part of the fun of being a proud owner of an antique vehicle. Just purchased a 2003=Thunderbird, matter of fact I knew there was a problem under the hood. So took it to a mechanic friend, he said the same thing and just wait it out. So I did, my girl caught me off balance twice but not a third. Found someone to work on it and discovered that it was the radiator. She had a crack so got her fixed. This was almost a bucket item for me. Would have preferred a 1956 T-Bird, Teal blue but I am pleased with my little white 2003!!! Oh just for clarity I am a gal, 76 years old!
So sorry Houston is so sick…praying everyone gets well soon🙏🏻 Good luck on the trapping..hope you trap all the coyotes and predators ‼️ Great video..thanks😊
I'm glad you have another project to keep u occupied......❤ understood nothing but enjoyed....
Houston get better.....someday maybe a quilting vlog😂
Myself I like the longer video they could be a full hour, I wouldn't complain. So, thank you for all the great videos. I enjoy them all, and I watch all of It.
Please never worry about long video's I love all your video's and could watch all day long! I know how excited my husband and I were when we camperized our van. Then we took a trip from British Columbia to New York City on the american side and then we came back home on the Canadian side. Our road trip was 36 days in duration. You make me remember all out trips in the van. Thank you🤗🤗🤗💞💞💙💙😍
I’m so so happy that Houston’s trapping is starting to pay off❤
I know you want a camping rig you can trust with all the accessories for food and refrigerator and generator and such. I’ve been there. I’ve spent literally thousands on all the equipment in your van. But, to tell you the truth, it would be a lot cheaper if you just bought a rooftop tent, a fridge cooler, a Coleman stove and a generator. I guarantee you will have more fun camping with no headaches for you and Houston. Keep it simple. My 4x4 2011 Tacoma with the above will take me more places for less money. I’m not trying to be a know it all or impose on you. I enjoy your channel, van or not. Thanks for what you do.
Keep 'em coming Daniel... the longer the length of the video - the more enthralled we get !!!
Hi Daniel... Call your van "The Beast"!
Paint it blue if you call it the beast, please. I have a blue 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab stepside truck named "The Beast." I used to have a red 1986 Ford Econoline E350 van. Even though the center captain seats would spin around to share the table that was installed between them & the rear seat that also let down into a bed, it was not equipped for camping like yours. I called it "Clifford the Big Red Van."
I think he should call it the blue bomb
Daniel, when my husband was still alive he loved to rebuild trucks. You may already know of this company but we always used L & M truck parts. They were always able to fill the order. Good luck on your fixing up the Beast
I had a thought when you were camping to stay warmer, lower the tent roof back down in the flat position just while sleeping at night, would probably hold heat in better as smaller area, then raise back up in the morning. Love the new puppy.
For that heater, first make sure the unit is getting what it needs to run properly, like a full 12 volts and fuel flow, I assume there is a filter somewhere. There should be a thermocouple like on water heaters that uses a small metal tube that must get hot before it allows fuel flow. Old ovens and water heaters use them so if the pilot light is out, it won't allow gas to flow. Look for a tiny metal tube with a bulbous end. Heat it with a flame and see if it opens. Clean everything you see.
I still say you should call it the A Team Machine!
I Love your videos so much that I watch them more than I watch TV! I have a name suggestion for the van! Bella came to mind when I watched your first video with the van when you and Houston tried it out for the first time! She was a Great Dog and I Miss seeing her in the videos since she passed away! My favorite videos are the catch and cook, hunting, fishing, and all of the animals! Can’t wait to see the next video! God Bless from Caldwell Ohio!
Bella!!!
Bella!!!😂
I would think the buss bar you are trying to connect to is built into the Ecoflow unit. Ecoflow has a great rep for customer service. Give them a call. It may require a different Ecoflow unit or just one of their batteries. You'll still have the flexibility you want and stuff in the van will work. Also, you have a "proper" solar panel cord and I assume the panels are properly connected. Just replace the wire from the panels to the inside.
I had an old '75 Plymouth Grand Fury former Detroit police car that I bought with only 48,000 miles on it, for only $600.00. Confidence in Detroit steel was well on the wane. The front bumper was backed with a 2" square channel so they could attach the push bars. The car could plow though anything and I pushed a lot of college buddies home with that beast. It looks like the entire rear bumper assembly needs to go. The tire mount design was a test for metal fatigue, and barely made sense, but that's what was done. The body is in incredible shape, not something seen in Michigan. Good luck 🤞 39:50
The blower for your Webasto heater needs to have a 4 inch duct leading out of the enclosure where the heater is. If not, the unit will very quickly overheat and shut down.
Another great video Daniel. Thanks for sharing about your grandpa & a bit about your families history with trapping. Memories like that are important to share with the next generation. Hope Houston is better soon. Once you get the beast🚍 in good condition, looking forward to seeing you & Houston's adventures.👍🏻 God Bless.
Prayers Houston feels better 💙🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Beast Van name, Marge, because she's Large and in Charge🤠
Hey Daniel I really hope you get the BEAST in order because it’s a very nice van and Houston would enjoy that for a long time! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
How about “Dream Machine”? Or “Dream Chaser”? Or “Hunter”. Or, “Merc Machine” then you could use it as a advertisement machine for your merchandise and use it as a tax deduction!! That’s a win, win!! Love that van!!
You can also watch Chrome's Vancity Vanlife's videos which talked plenty of inverters, solar powers, heaters and lit batteries. For camping, I think the EcoFlow, Bluetti and Jackery batteries are just fine to use for weekend hunting camping as long you have those solar panels that came with them. By all means take them all out if you choose to do so. If you are planning on LIVING in the van, I would suggest to use those inverter, solar power but buy a better battery for longer life and get that Webasto heater checked out properly. Such a wealth of information on Chrome's channel. The foam, never the spray foam because if you do end up having mold, it will be hard to remove. I remember seeing those stiff pink foam insulation panels with a very good construction glue and gorilla glue was fabulous lol. Every time you use the van for the weekend or week long camping, be sure to open all doors as soon as you can when you get home to let it "air" out. If you do take out the Wabasto heater, you can use a camp heater like Mr Buddy but have to crack your front window for air and less moisture condensation. Good luck, Daniel!
Highly Recommended ✅️ Don't get much better than the Chromester.
Mr buddy heaters take oxygen from sealed areas so be very careful from them even though they say they can be used in an enclosed environment
I just love the beast!!! Yes it needs a little TLC but what a great land yacht!
When I was a kid my dad bought a pool blue dune buggy. One that has the whole fiber glass body. Sat in yard full of water most of the time lol. Didn’t work very much and he was an auto mechanic. But when it was working we’d go down the street and the front wheel would come off ground. Loved it as I’m sure you and Houston do this. Memories in the making. You guys working on this together would be a memorable thing.
Good evening from Syracuse NY brother and thank you for sharing your adventures and your farm
Hi Daniel. I remember dipping my traps when I was younger. Really helped and miss those days Love the beast and will be cool when you get all the bugs out God bless and love yall ❤❤
We had a 85 with sliding side door. 3 grandsons and 2 adult's had a heck of a good time in there. And it stayed pretty cool we took it mining in the summer in fall we used the buddy heater. The boys were sad when we sold it. Ours you could stand up in with a bed over the front and bunks in the back. You'll have fun
I love these video's where you share so much with us. Do more my friend.I wish I had moved to MIssouri 2 years ago I love being out in the country and you help this home bound old lady smile. God Bless My Arms Family.
Hi Daniel, The van just needs a little tlc.. get an ac to dc converter, will be versatile to work with all your power generators. You will be able to lose some weight getting rid of that battery. Mc4 connections from solar panels. I'd bet the exhaust is clogged on the heater.. Start with the rear bumper mounting, so you have a spare tire and the gas can on the other side is a good idea..
He has one by his batteries.
I watch your videos no matter how short or long. I watch the whole thing every time.❤😊
Thanks for sharing.
I hope your family feels better. I enjoy all your videos. Good luck with the Beast.
Could you guys do another shed hunting video like the one you did with Jimmy Houston or on your property? I would love to see that and I bet a lot of other people would too❤
It is a jump trap
@@jerryhuskey3119 ???
The "Beast" could work😂! I have known a few vehicles that earned it!
Really, your information about what you do , how you do it , mistakes you made, really help me make a more sound decision on like , your tractor. I just find it a real shame I can't communicate back and forth with you.
All the questions I have and stuff. I have listened to your channel for so long now I feel as if I know you and your family. Again this is only a one way conversation.
Thanks for ALL the info you put out.
It really does make a difference!
Love seeing a uploaded video me and my family sit down and watch every video
Praying for all of you down there !!! The crud is hanging on sometimes too long for people !!! I call it the CRUD !!! I had it and know of others that got it that I didn't come in contact with !!! So sleep eat a bit then sleep again !!! So am PRAYING FOR YOU ALL !!! That is a Mink trap I saw my Father's so that is what I remember Dan Daddy is gone now in 1999 he trapped for many years !!!
Thats a nifty old trap.
Was that the one you were teasing DJ with on her video?
😊😅😂
Its a handy van especially when you get it updated 😊
Name her Grace! God's grace is need as you use it😉
The struggle is real. Daniel it may benefit you to call the company to see what they offer.
I'd be proud to own and drive her around 😊❤
With the van, spray insulation works well, I placed panel siding over it and it helped with heating and cooling. And sound. I think it's wonderful they invented those solar generated power packs. You can do a whole lot with those and using the USB heater and cooling systems with those. Good luck with the beast, I know you'll get it tricked out beautifully. Also too, you might have to change just the fuse box, it can get corrosive after awhile. You can also wire directly into the fuse box the different items you use. On the spare tank, one is the main tank, the other is a reserve tank and it's a smaller tank that you can use for the heater if you want to keep that intact. I think the camper beast is a great idea for camptrips. Thanks for the updates.
Thanks for sharing your day Daniel. Hope Houston feels better soon.
It is a jump trap I have 30 of them I bought back in 1976 . I started trapping around 1970 . I have around 180 traps all different types and sizes . I used black walnut hulls to boil my traps in and logwood crystals also .
Hey that’s a great idea. Thanks. I’ll do the same. 😊
There's actually a use for black walnuts?? I wish someone would come collect all of mine! I have 3 trees and oh, what a mess!!
YOU CAN TRY AN INVERTER FROM AC TO DC ,plug into ac in the back and dc out of inverter to the van main
Converter, changes AC to DC.
Great video today! Thanks for sharing your farm life with us! 💕
Daniel as you work on the Beast l am sure that you can take out what you don't want and put in what you do and in the process you can learn all about it's quirky little bits and bobs. Good luck.
I setup a solar and battery system as a backup at my house and I understand how it all works. The system in the van looks like an ok system if it had good batteries. You could add a battery monitor with shunt to the system to keep track of your battery state of charge.
With the existing battery being suspect, that could easily be the problem with your heater as well. When those heaters are starting up, they use a glow plug to get the fire started and it draws a good amount of power. If the glow plug pulls the battery voltage too low, the heater will shut down. Of course it could also be a carbon buildup problem like you said but if you swap in a good battery you could test that out.
I know next to nothing about the solar "generators" but before you plug any solar panels into them you need to make sure of the voltage and amperage the panels are capable of putting out and make sure the unit can handle that amount of power. I'm surprised that they don't have a high amp dc output but I definitely didn't see what you'd need on that one.
Call it “The Money Pit”
Love watchin y'all's videos no matter how long or short they are. RUclips is my tv. I don't watch regular tv anymore.
I find out so much watchin y'all's videos and stuff I had no idea about. Most of the stuff I'll never use or do, but I like watchin it.
Thank you for all your videos. I'll be prayin for Houston. 🙏🏼❤️ God bless. 😊❤
Daniel if yo Utube Gas Webasto heaters there are piles of videos about how they work and why it is doing what its doing. I think it may need a cleanout. They do need servicing occasionally. But when you get it all working good you guys are going to have a great time! Lots of wonderful memories to be made!
The camper just has to be called 🐕 BELLA 🐕
I think you need to paint that thing lemon yellow, Daniel. 😂
I laughed so hard when you said the odometer doesn't work either. 😂😂😂
I’d paint it camouflage color so the enemy doesn’t see it when there looking for it. There already here and we better be ready. 😂
Its a lemon i say yellow color aswell
You don't want yellow attracts all kinds of bee's couldn't use with the windows open
@@mariekolb3098 I don't think you get the joke. Lol
🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋
Did you see the movie"The Money Pit?"😂❤
It's called a full wave rectifier, i worked for a Choctaw Trailer Mfg we used them in the living quater section of the custom horse trailers. Go from the three prong to to bar.
Hope you get everything repaired on the van😊
Start new with things in the van. Don't trust things that can put you to sleep forever.
Good point.
Anytime you have a fuel powered heating system a CO Detector is a must.
Beauty and the Beast😂 we have a week ahead of no snow!! Not even a foot of it on the ground and roads/driveways are bare. Btw, I watched all the video. I like a longer video now and then
I have Beauty & the Beast. My 2000 Ford Mustang convertible is the Ruby Beauty & my 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab stepside truck is the Blue Beast.
@@hotstangchic69 I had a gorgeous Ruby Ram 1500 once lol😍
Hey Daniel some of my favorite videos are camping I watch the truck house he has information on the things your talking about. I look forward to camping videos from the big beast!t ❤
Thank you for sharing your videos with all of us.
Van name.."the Armster"... Like monster. Love your videos.. TFS❤❤❤
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and the animals and the foul
Excellent video.
1986 anything is going to have issues. Hopefully you'll figure out the electrical connection.
How cool is that to have those traps that were your Grandpa's ❤
Had the same problem with my furnace , it was clogged with carbon build up from one end to the other , just took it apart and gave a thorough cleaning
Call that monster “HEADACHE”! He’s guaranteed to give you one😂😂
But it's content for him!!!
I’ll do a push up every like this gets
I enjoy all of y’all’s videos! I sure hope you can get that van up and going. What you say about using something like a jackery makes a lot of sense. Hope you can get some help with it! 😊❤
I enjoy your videos and the long ones are fine with me. I'm also so glad that you haven't started doing the caption stuff like others have.
What your looking for is at the loves truck stop, or pilot.. they have all kinds of components and wires cords and plug ins for truckers
I also have a 1985 ford van side fuel tank. No leaks, Not a rust bucket.
Also what you need is an AC to DC convertor box.. Available on Amazon and other sources... I have seen them up to 60 amps.
Thanks Daniel for sharing. A bunch of info for sure.
Look for whatever you need to provide "shore power" like you'd use in a camper or boat. You could then provide 120 v with your ecoflow or plug your system into any outdoor outlet
You can cut fiberglass insulation and put in the doors too but if you already have the spray foam setup that works too.
I do enjoy all your videos .
I dont know where your going with the van now . I see a lot of crazy things but take the van you a real shop to get it right but its your to do anything you wish too. Now
God bless y'all
I like the long videos and have learned several things from them. Getting ready to build on 26 acres and have a lot of work to do. Lots of cedars to take down, brush hogging and driveway building to were we are building. Going to be looking for a tractor and a new place opened that has TYM's not too far away.
Have a blessed Sunday. Thanks for the video Daniel. Take care and God Bless!!!❤😊
hey daniel, they make a converter like they use in campers, 120v to 12 v.. also check the fuel pump and filter on the heater, i have a used that i took out of a truck.. i enjoy watching
I hope your son feel better❤
you have sola in the camper , you can buy 12 or 24 volt heaters and airconditioners will mke camping any weather comfortable
Daniel, we have those type of traps. The newer traps you used I have never seen before lol Of course, I'm 59. One of my sons uses those traps of my daddy's now. I remember Daddy "boiling" his traps. You brought back some precious memories of my times trapping with daddy and helping him. Thank you!
I had the same issue with my heater.the filters were cloged up. SEMPER Fi
Daniel my grandfather use to soak his traps in the water after he boiled walnuts,it kept them from rusting, also for the time being until you get the cluster fixed you can download a speedometer on your phone and it will tell you how many miles you traveled.
Aww praying for Houston get better soon buddy 😊
Check is that heater has a flame sensor. If so, that may be causing it to cycle if it’s bad. I had a similar issue with my home heater.
Y’all are gonna have a great time with the van.
See if the heater in the Beast is grounded properly. My truck bunk heater occasionally had a problem with the ground wire coming loose. It would start up and throw some heat and then cut out. Just a thought. I enjoy your long videos. Many Blessings ❤❤
Evening Daniel. Double tonight yourself and Dejay. Great video I for one enjoy the longer videos can actually listen and understands things more. Love what you and Houston are going to do with the camper van. Hope Houston is feeling better now must be bad for Houston to be bad for so long. The traps will be waiting your dad is getting them all ready for you. Thanks for sharing your lives with us all have a great weekend take care and God bless 💕🙏
