Dude, I wish you the best with this. I followed you through the 2023 list and your journey there. I made my own take on Branded DM and did well with it. I'm now moving towards Yubel because GX nostalgia. But DM always holds a place in my heart. I hope you do manage to top, if anyone can top with DM, it's you.

After your first video I did make some alterations, the big one was the addition of super poly and I found it to be a great board breaker
Super poly is fantastic right now. I have it in the side deck… I need to find a way to main it… it’s great into the current format

Your wrong.. I play pure dark magician I beat all profiles.

@@julifer9211 within reason, any deck can beat any deck once in a while. The question is: how consistently are you winning BO3 against the best decks in the format? Are you consistently winning sets against Snake-Eyes? Branded Chimera? Labyrinth? Runick? Rescue-ACE? Mannadium?
@@julifer9211He is not wrong.I can guarantee you at best you can take 1 out of 10 games with pure DM against any Snake-eye deck.
Yeah at this point he isnt playing a dark magician deck, hes playing a runick branded deck with dragoon turbo

Obviously the going second is mostly board breakers.
FYI I play a budget version with no strong cards.
To make sure I don't win any games but as you can see I still win.
To be exact it's a 70-80% rate ..
I feel you dude. The way I have my DM deck built, there is hardly any spots for hand traps even though I want to run some.. some sacrifices have to be made I suppose.
It’s brutal! I think that’s the biggest reason why it’s very hard for the deck to make any noise in the meta game

How are you dealing with the current near/at tier one meta is the runic enough to get trough the snake eyes /fire king snake eyes board’s?
Have you tried a invoked engine? Its rather small compared to thr branded engine
what do we think about the new DM “support” with gold sarc and ebon?

Matchie, you have been making great advances in this DM deck profile project (I started following you ever since you uploaded your third video or so). I wanted to ask: have you considered creating any place in which other players can share insight about other engines you might have not tested yet ?
Also, have you thought of maybe trying small engines this year, such as Horus, Adventure or Red Eyes?

Adventure I cooked a list, but it never made it to RUclips. I think it has potential, but not in the current format
Is playing 1x aluber + 1x branded lost + 1 branded opening any good in the branded dark magician deck? It sounds good to me, but im not exactly an experienced player 👀
Aluber no, zero need for it IMO, just clogs the deck with more normal summons.
Opening is alright if you’re playing quem, but at that point making quem your only NS (with a 3 Quem 1 Cartesia) would be more optimal IMO.
Branded lost. Without bystial lubellion and no way to search it, it’s not worth as a 1 of (I know Aluber can search it)

i think duality would push this deck further. getting rid of hugin, summoning dragoon with granguignol, drawing an extra card for more runick spells, recycling your extra deck monsters...
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t test it. Once Cartesia was added to the theory, duality came with it… only issue with duality, is that there just isn’t any room as things stand. I will be revisiting it though :)
So, ... You essentially want to make and endboard that is Dragoon pass in a deck without any hand traps and you want to draw many cards (with the Runick engine) in a world where everyone plays Droll & Lock Bird?
Yes and no…
at it’s worst the deck ends on dragoon and fountain with names in hand (which is still very strong)
with the way the branded engine, Cartesia, and the Dm engine generates fodder, you’re typically ending on double dragoon, or Dragoon, TDM’s to chain block fountain, and or drago staplellia, with follow up, and Runick cards in hand.
If you’re in specific matchups, mirrorjade and dragoon is also an option…
Yes, droll kills the deck. Droll kills every version of DM.. however the Runick cards play around droll very well, as you can set up fountain, and Runick names in grave in the Draw phase. You can get drolled after resolution of the draw 3, but at that point you’re already so far ahead, you don’t care about droll.
what are your thoughts on the sinful spoil engine with dm, would be very keen to see a list

Since you don’t play a lot of DM spells, maybe cut rod down to 1
Why not just cut souls, BF, and deployed to 2 each and add super poly?

Right now, I’m thinking maybe Rod, DMG, and a Runick name (but more testing needs to be done)

The dm engine with rod, souls, ioc ect, no. The engines have zero synergy with eachother. But people have topped regionals playing 1 DM in the deck along with branded fusion just to make dragoon.

Would Eye of Timaeus work as a substitute for Timaeus the United? It essentially does the same thing and is searchable by Illusion, or am I missing something?
Eye of Timaues isn’t searchable by any dark magician card unfortunately

The casual community hating on people trying to actually play rogue decks will never cease to amaze me.
I liked your inclusion of the Runick package, but as you're saying, deck space is tight and you absolutely need a critical mass of Runick cards to make it work reliably.

It’s sad that there’s really only two ways to build DM. Use other engines to buff it up but they take up so much space you can’t play any hand traps

Play DM stun with flood gates, hand traps, board breakers

Great decklist and ideas behind it. It just gets my attention that each time the decklist gets "upgraded" it means DM cards get more and more cut out and other engines (Visas, Runick, Bystials, Branded, etc.) get included. Is a demonstration of the failed mechanics DM has in the current meta. Sadly, the deck has become a Runick/Branded deck with a Dragoon turbo. I honestly wish you the best in the upcoming tournaments but its hard to consider this a DM deck.
I appreciate the comment, in fairness, it’s only 1 less DM card than in my branded profiles a few months back… but I do agree. That’s just the state of the deck if you want to play it at the highest level.
I don’t love it, but it’s the hand we were delt and it’s about making the most out of what we have.

The fact that you're catching so much hate in the comments all of a sudden means you're onto something good. Keep pushing!
That said, an inability to run hand traps in a fire format is, as you pointed out, a serious liability. Stopping Snake-Eyes from getting set up in the first place is much more impactful than board breaking after the fact. You will quickly get out resourced once you try going down that route with DM, even a DM list supplemented with stronger engines.
I was interested to hear your thought that Runick doesn't play well against Snake-Eyes Fire King. Runick Stun just won a WCQ in Germany where 5/8 of top cut was Snake-Eyes. Have you looked into that and considered whether a stun version of DM might be viable? Not that the comments would be kind to you lol.

As for stun, I don’t think DM can be sufficient in a stun deck that’s not just dragoon + fountain and floodgates. Iam however interested in the idea of playing a more control play-style with the Runick engine rather than forcing gas into this list.

It sucks that the entire strategy here is just to minimize the dark magician cards in the list to maximize other available archetypes to make it more usable. It starts to become less of a "making dark magician meta" and more just "I made a branded runick deck that happens to also turbo dragoon l0l"
Like no offense Matchie, but this isnt a dark magician deck anymore, dark magician is doing the least in this list, it's only purpose is to get you a dragoon...
If I had it my way, I would love to play 40 DM cards, unfortunately I’m doing my very best to make its viable competitively. So no offence taken :)

The best way to run DM is Branded Chimera with one DM in the deck 😂
The new gold sarc cards are so mid..If that new DM was DM in grave then we would actually have a decent splashable engine but nope..We can't have nice things.

Its basically a ruinik deck!!
Cut 1 Albaz, 1 Branded Fusion, the 2 Illusion of chaos, or 1 Illusion and 1 Souls. I 'd also argue, 1 Tip (to circumvent droll), 1 or even 2 Slumber. you got 6-7 spots. 3 droll, 2 Ash, 1 called by, 1 ghost belle. You got Fusion Deployment as an alternative to summon DM, Cartesia or Albaz, IF needed. Also, the Cartesia engine adds more value than the Branded - Albaz one. 2 Albion in the extra is too much. and Dragostapelia is too situational. Keep them as siding options along with the third Branded Fusion and second Albaz. Maybe a second DM on the side against bystial pressure. One good main option is Goddess with the third eye. You can go Branded Fusion to Albion (goddess as material), Goddess as DM (fusion substitute) + Albaz or Albion itself, for Dragoon. In that case, you are left with 6 spots.
Never cut on branded fusion lmao cmon bro
@@LOZA-DM Why? It is searchable. It is not crucial to the core. Not a win condition. You are most probably summoning your second Dragoon with it, or a Dragoon out. And you still got it in the side, if you absolutely need it on the second and third game. I 'd rather see a Droll and a Runick going second, than BF and no Droll. Or any handtrap for that matter. Because you are not guaranteed to go first on your first match.
