In reality it would take $0 to solve world hunger, it would take many things, involving redistribution of food across the planet, and mostly that the rich countries waste good food (at least 60% good food waste in Canada). I work in a grocery store and we throw out $1000's of dollars of good food every day. A Best Before date is a manufacturers confidence, it is not an EXPIRY date of said food
@@Vobefrod So you think by the time someone pays for it, then figures out its going to go bad before its sold, it then gets gathered, distributed, shipped around the world before it goes bad and kills people where its given to people that can't afford any of it and all this will cost $0. Economic genius here. No wonder you work in a grocery store.
@@Vobefrod the same thing happens with pharmaceuticals too. My nurse sister in law told me how they use to have to go in the multi stall bathroom on Fridays in the nursing home. They would dump all the "expired" medicine down the toilets. Opened boxes and boxes of fentanyl patches and flushed them down the toilets. Right into the water supply. And each one of those boxes of patches costed five hundred bucks, back in the day. For generic. God only knows what the name brand Duragesics cost. I would not have been able to resist palming some of those. And could they not have been donated to Doctors Without Borders, or something?
The lord of the rings is a very racially inclusive literature. It depicts hobbits, humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, and just about every other race of middle earth lore. Asking why there are no indigenous black people in Middle Earth is like asking why there are no indigenous white people in Africa.
i mean, there is the darker skinned nations even in the books.... they just aren't where the story happens. and Dark ELves are generally a different species in newer fictions, Tolkien pretty much said in stone that his elves were fair skinned living golems meant to do their gods bidding. after the major wars they just been chilling, so even without the racial component of the casting, these elves just feel off. they dont feel like the books elves nor the peter jackson elves
White humanoid and species diverse, not racially diverse. And your Africa analogy makes no sense, one wouldn't expect a bunch of badass Whites to suddenly be the heroes from villages of Wakanda in a Black Panther reboot would you?
It’s not even medieval Europe, it’s Anglo Saxon England before the Norman invasion. Tolkien despised the Normans . This was all inspired by pre 1100 AD. As well as the Celt’s and Scott’s.
Tolkien had said when he wrote The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings that he wanted to wrote a very British story. He lamented how much Great Britain was inundated with stories and myths from mainland Europe.

20:54 interesting how the story seems to paint Galadriel as justified in attempting to beat the hell out of someone because they threw a rock at her paper swan boat as a teasing prank. Sure, the boys were a-holes but her response was way over the top. I can’t imagine that we’d see the gender reverse of that scene presented in the same way. Can we imagine a group of little girls sinking a boy’s paper boat and him proceeding to chase down and physically attack one of the girls as anything other than a disturbing over-reaction at best or an indication of absolute evil at worst? But I shouldn’t be surprised by hypocritical double standards when it comes to men and women/boys and girls. They are pervasive in our culture, practically endemic, so much so that I barely notice them any more.
It's like Elon Musk said, " ...almost every male character in this show is either a coward or a jerk, or both." I don't know why they had to go and ruin the Lord of the Rings by trying to turn Galadriel into stereotypical "strong female character." She was already the most powerful female in Middle Earth as it was. I mean she single handedly destroyed Dul Godor and made Sauron flee to Mordor.
But did she humiliate any straight white males in so doing? Only Sauron, but everyone already hated him for good reason. Not good enough for them. Hollywood is🤮
I think you have to look for things like that for it to be noticeable. The show isn't that bad. I didn't like how there were black people in a certain Disney movie a few years because it was distracting and historically accurate but I didn't think it was a fault that made the movie garbage either. And the original Lotr had and still has a large female fanbase so I understand where they were going for profitability. But you folks are a community with a particular mindset that doesn't have much flexibility.
@@Ash-nh6li You just made an overarching assumption about an entire group of people, and yet are calling others inflexible in mindset. If you can't see the blatant (and hilarious) hypocrisy there, then frankly I'm at a loss. Do you read your own comments as you write them? Or afterwards? Your opinions and tastes aside, this product is objectively poorly written. The casting makes no sense for the lore or world, and the interference of intersectional feminist ideals ruins a character who was already a strong female to begin with. It's inarguably, integrally flawed.
When they do these remakes/adaptations etc. they are not trying to make the fans happy, make money or a even make a good product. They are saying to the fans “we know you love this franchise, but it isn’t yours anymore”
“Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.” ― Theodore Dalrymple
woke-ism started as a psy-op by the FBI to divide people - but then was adapted by companies since it discourages critical thinking. Without critical thinking you'll rate terrible plot and characters with great sound and CGI as 10/10
I personally kind of prefer the joke name "Rings of Diversity", I knew it was going to be bad when I heard Amazon was ignoring Peter Jackson and literally every actual fan of LOTR
One more annoying little detail they got wrong: where in fantasy medieval Europe did Galadriel manage to find modern paper for a toy boat that unfolds into a Japanese origami swan? The first paper boat appears in the West in 1490, well into the Renaissance. The Sistine Chapel had already been built. The first paper mill in France was established just before 1200; other papers mills were built later across Europe. Paper was so valuable at first that its manufacture was a closely guarded secret. It wouldn't have wound up in the hands of children to fold into toys. Okay, so this detail may not be as grating as the salon haircuts and the Mary Sue leads, but it illustrates the ignorance and laziness of the writers.
The Morgan freeman casting was at least written to make sense. Robin came from the crusades. It’s not crazy that he’d run into a moor there. Also, they portrayed their reaction to it much more realistically. The “did god paint you” line comes to mind. If it was like rings of power, then Morgan freeman would be robins fellow Englishman that he grew up with and no one would consider him an outsider or wonder how he got there but at the same time they’d be racist to him.
Moors were generally more Arab looking than black which is why there were a few raised eyebrows at Morgan Freeman being cast in the role. Of course, he's a great actor and has tremendous screen presence so I don't think most people minded when they got to see the film.
When I think of a strong woman who is a hero I always think of Ripley. She was afraid of it at first then she kick the aliens butt. She was a character that I could relate too.
@@AbeusMaximus well, on the feminine front, she actually had a strong maternal drive to protect a child, which both humanized her and made her act bravely in the face of fear. If there was no one to protect and care for, she'd have been a much weaker character. The fact that she essentially adopts the little girl raised the stakes dramatically, gave her a more complete characterization, and helped motivate her to seek righteous justice against the aliens, seeing life, love, and humanity as things worth saving. In addition, she's not overpowered, she's not a fighter, she's actually charming and clever, she actually had to be taught (by a *gasp* male soldier, no less) how to use a gun before she could wield one, and she shows natural, believable fear, anxiety, and self-doubt throughout the show. She's a very relatable character, and does things people both think they would do, as well as what they hope they could bring themselves to do in a similar situation. Very good character in my opinion.
@@nickhollerauer4295 Well while your response was very well worded and had valid points just about all of which I agree with it has nothing to do with my question, as I never said she was a bad character. I asked if her having a vagina is the only reason the OP was able to relate to her.
@@AbeusMaximus I do appreciate the compliment, and I apologize for going on a tangeant. My point was that many women relate to her being a woman because she shows strong maternal instincts and realistic strengths that real women have, as well as holding her own in a male dominated group without resorting to belittling them. The two sexes complimented one another, which was my initial point before writing my little essay. Perhaps that's why OP chose her as a good example of a female character. Sorry that wasn't very clear.
3:08 "The black actors." Yes, Amazon is fan baiting to generate more publicity, but it's also a carefully calculated move to deflect any criticism of the show (however accurate) as "racist".
Casting really depends. You can totally have other races in fantasy settings but you need actual lore/background for it. Such as "the swordsman from the east" (samurai) Black Dwarves on the other hand don't make sense because Dwarves live in mountains and caves.
@@MrReaganUSA - Absolutely! I thought of them instantly. Didn’t Peter Jackson show some of those groups in the large war scenes? Riding elephants, I think. All the peoples of Middle Earth came to fight Sauron in the end. (By the way, it’s pronounced “Sow-ron,” where “sow” rhymes with “now.” Or “ow!” 😆 )
EXACTLY. Context and explanation as to why in the hell there is this or that. But just dumping in 'black characters, asian characters and no beards for female dwarves!'.... it just makes me zone out and just not care.
Well if you want the skin color of the races to be unimportant than you need to cast a lot more actors of color. It would be an obvious anachronistic choice as long as it was consistent across the fictional races. It would be easy to tell by the viewers that skin color isn’t a definitive characteristic and they would have to look a bit closer at other character traits.

I loved the part where Galadriel said, "We have the mightiest armies in all of middle earth! What do you have that could defeat us?" Sauron just cracked his neck and said, "Magic, Mutherf*cker." Then Frodo said, "Crap. we're gonna need a bigger ring." so Gandalf told the Ents "run forrest run!" Then Don Lemonlas said, "We Haz RANGS!" while wearing a BLM shirt. Then Ursula said “Ahh, so you think darkness is your ally? But you merely adopted the dark; I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see the light until I was already an octopus, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!” Then She-Hulk said, "You either die a Hero or live long enough to see yourself become the Crustacean." But Then Ursula Replied, "I am INEVITABLE!!!" only for Ariel to impale her with the boat while saying, "And I am all the Jedi! ... On a Boat." Much Stunning. Much Bravery.
You can’t argue with this. It’s unnecessary. It doesn’t make sense. There were black people in GOT so it makes sense that there are black people in HOD. Black people in vikings. There were no complaints there. There were no black people in LOTR and the hobbit. So where would all the black people in ROP have gone after this time period. It just doesn’t make sense and it’s forced.
Mr Regan, please stop using their terminology. It’s not “woke” or “diverse” or whatever, it’s antiwhitism, pure and simple. We can argue from the moral high ground if we say “I will not accept antiwhitism” instead of “we’re not racist!”

I was laying a concrete base beside my house using a mixer and big heaps of ballast and bags of cement when a female neighbour approached me asking for some of the concrete mix for a project that she had on the go beside her own house. A note of explanation is in order, she was a 30 something woman, a really big sporty girl with big powerful arms and legs and a lovely 'thick' figure with a flat belly, wide hips, dream boobs, long blond hair and a pretty face and I thought she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen and as neighbours we got along real well, so when she asked for the mix I was more than happy to give her whatever she wanted. She came over in her pickup with a quite large strongly made plastic container and I put it under the mixer and dumped around 300 lbs of concrete into it, I went to lift the container into the back of her pick up but she said 'no, I'll lift it in myself' , I said 'you won't be able to lift that my dear, it's miles too heavy' to which she replied 'I'm as strong as any man here, I'll do it' so I stood back to watch. She absolutely could not move the container, not up, sideways or any movement whatsoever, she gathered herself and tried several more times bless her but to no avail then stood back looking shocked at her failure to even move the thing at all and I said 'can I do it'? and she nodded yes. Of course I was full of adrenaline by this point as well as being a working man in his prime and when I lifted the container onto her pickup I hardly even felt it's weight, it was very easy for me. She looked at me hard for some seconds and I acted like nothing had happened, then she thanked me nicely, pecked me on the cheek and left. I often remember this little trinket which sort of shows a general lack of understanding by females of what male strength is all about and how a man can reach inside for reserves of strength that most women don't even know exist and cannot even imagine..

Let’s say that Galadriel is literally 100 times better than the rest of the group combined. That would be like sending a group of Navy SEALS to hunt Al-Quaeda but one is a SEAL and the rest of the team are kindergarteners. Wouldn’t it be better for Galadriel to go by herself? She would search faster, hide better, not worry about protecting the weaker members and not endanger the rest of the team and keep them away from their families. It makes no sense.
I suppose though that if she had an inexperienced team *because* of Gilgalad, that would totally then justify her disdain for him -- build actual tension where the audience understands _why_ she's not cool with him, lol

its soooo bad. do not ever waste your time on this first season. I am hoping, praying, that maybe season 3 -4 -5 may fire ALL the writers and actors and start fresh.
It's NOT woke. The series couldn't have been made without at least a bow to diversity. That's the extent of the wokeness. That's just the reality of the entertainment industry. Perhaps you should withhold judgment on a series until you've actually watched the series. As a lifelong Tolkien fan, I'm enthralled. I've watched the first two episodes three times.
The first episode really had the best of me, the she elf dude prove her battalion of useless male elf's useless then she decides to go home afterwards because they were too useless to go further with her in the journey which makes no sense as they proved to be utterly worthless with the snow monster. It begged the question does she need any support at all? Wouldn't it be better to journey alone and no be dragged by worthless men complaining about how difficult it is and dragging her down making her worry about them being killed along the way because they too sensitive to survive. The moment they forsake her would be the moment she would be finally free to be the female warrior she was always meant to be. Shitty shit
I watched about 10 minutes until macho chick slayed the evil troll while the poor stupid dudes whined....just exactly the opposite of the real world !! ... I picked a Clint E movie instead.
It's a comon cliche that "the hero is stronger than an entire battalion" in video games. That being said, it is terribly cheesy to make the hero alone stronger than an ELITE battalion of warriors.
I have a real problem with Hollywood and the UK Film Council trying to rewrite cultural history. The worst I’ve seen was a black Anne Boleyn. This is bullshit to force directors to hire actors that do not fit the history of the character they’re to play. You can’t rectify perceived slights by hammering round pegs into square holes.
I’d be fine with a black Ariel. Unlike Middle-Earth (Early Europe), there is no good reason Ariel wouldn’t be black. Of course, they could give the black Little Mermaid her own name and story. There’s room for more than one mermaid in the sea.
@@ajalvarez3111 nope. Little mermaid is a European tale. Why grab a story, whose traditional characters are white and replace them with characters of colour? That’s just plain insecurity. Why try to grab someone’s identity when you can embrace yours and be proud of it by sticking to it? I mean there are so many beautiful African fairy tales, why not make a movie about them if you want a black woman in a fairy tale based movie? why try to steal someone’s character when you have your own? It doesn’t make sense unless you’re trying to push a woke agenda. What can you say if pablo escobar is played by a Chinese dude in screen because we want to please the Chinese and so we want Chinese representative in a movie? Wouldn’t that be cringy?
Almost every female character on TV and in movies is smug, overconfident, and cocky. It's almost like someone wants real women to act that way in real life.
I don't think they spent that money on this show. Everything they've done (costumes, artwork, CGI, actors, showrunners) has been the cheapest option possible. So that money has to have gone somewhere else. Even the marketing was really really low (a lot of people didn't even know this show was coming out). If I didn't know better I'd say this was all an elaborate money laundering scheme.
All of us die hard LOTR fans are beyond disgusted. Yeah the point about the black actors actually becomes quite distracting on screen. We all know that just having black actors in a medieval European setting just looks and feel odd and off. It is just not believable. The same would be true for a story about zulu tribes or ancient African or Asian empires. Hiring a bunch of Nordic Scandinavian actors playing those roles even would be wrong. We all know deep down it just feels off because it's a lie. LOTR is European mythology. The races within that universe are distinct. The need for human diversity ridiculous. The human race is based on northern European/Celtic/Nordic and indigenous Brits race. There are ancient Asian and African and middle eastern mythology that could be beautifully represented on film. Why won't they do it? It could potentially be an amazing adaption. Why take another creators work and dismantle and destroy it? The elves were based.on the Nordics. That is why they are tall, very pale with blue eyes. Usually they have golden hair. They walk in light and have almost a halo of light around them. Timeless. God they ruined the elves.

As far as the black actors in middle earth thing goes, I'd be just as turned off to see a diversity hire white actor in a film about the Congolese or some Nubian warriors. It's definitely not coming from a distaste for black actors. Some of my favorite actors of all time are black. It reminds me of the British accents in Troy and other Greek/Roman films where the British accent sounds out of place. Now imagine if they made Achilles an Inuit or a Japanese man. Lmao that's what's going on here. It's just backwards and awkward.
A whole continent got destroyed when the Valar (=Angels) intervened to stop Morgoth, the elves pretty clearly experienced that. Humans may have some scepticism as they have short lives, but that was part of Tolkiens message, the descent of man as they became further distanced from the elves who'd directly experienced the powers that guided creation.
@@thebanneredmare9190 I'm an atheist, but Tolkien was fairly overt that he was Catholic. It flowed into his story in a lot of ways. Eg a creator God. The religion of Tolkienism hasn't been born, yet :-P
100% of elves were preternaturally pale, thin, tall and clear skinned. Those were the morphological choices Tolkein made, based on the legends of the Sidhe. An Irish native myth. Zero elves would even tan in the Sun, let alone be dark skinned. Put in the Southrons if you want that! Dwarves weren't any particular color...although they were based on Nordic myth. Hobbits could be all over the place, as could humans. But no. They had to destroy the mythology symbolically.
We know. They existed when there was only starlight, before the moon and sun were created. They also are immune to disease and would never tan in light.
And I never had a single urge or inspiration to even check how this is. I knew it would be modern contrived social issues and woke trash, ruining LOTR the way they ruined Star Wars and Star Trek. It'd only work if there were barely any customerbase to begin with, like with those restaurants from Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.
I feel like modern screen writers are writing movies and tv series with normal parts and then changing every male lead part to female lead to prove that “women can do anything that a man can”
Funny how they call everyone racist and bigots for not liking this show when at the same time those same people really like house of the dragon with an interracial couple and a main character who may be gay.
I only made it 20 minutes in. It's Lord of the Rings in name only. It's almost like they took all the names for characters and places in Tolkien's works, used them and then threw out all the lore that made them recognizable as Tolkien's creations. This is just another case of someone wanting to tell their own story but not having the guts to actually full on create their own IP. I wouldn't be surprised if this started off as an original project and then some idiot Hollywood producer was like "You know what, with a little tweaking we could slap "Lord of the Rings" on this and make a mint." It's a poorly done cash grab. As for the diversity stuff I have a couple bones to pick here. One is that Hollywood has become so concerned with checking boxes that I don't think we always get the best actor/actresses for roles anymore. The meritocracy of being legitimately good at your craft has been trumped by how much melanin you have. My second issue is that Tolkien described in great detail what every character and race in Middle-Earth looked like. The man was a linguist, everything he wrote was exactly what he meant. If there were black/brown people present he would have said so. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings were written to be a shared surrogate mythology for Europeans. It makes sense that the characters would reflect the racial makeup of Europe. What Amazon has done by "Diversifying" Middle-Earth would be the same as me deciding to make a series based on African folklore but making sure half the cast is White, Asian and Latino. It wouldn't make sense and you can bet your ass the term "White Washing" would be applied. I love how it's only racist when non-white characters get race swapped.

Tolkein was a close friend of C.S. Lewis. Tolkein was a Catholic, and Lewis an ex-atheist Anglican, and they had many friendly discussions about their theological differences at a very high level. 17:30 you address the visual aesthetic. Yes, it is bright and clean but it looks much better than The Hobbit. I wish we could have seen Guillermo del Toro's version of The Hobbit.

@@GoBuddieGo Read the books, I beg you. I read them first when I was younger, then watched the movies when they came out and while the movies stray from the lore a little bit, it is easy to forgive and inconsequential. So it was not anticlimactic for me in any way, no, quite the opposite - they did a fantastic job translating the books into video format. I'd bow down to the director of the movies if I see him irl. If you read the books after you've been blown away by the movies, you'd be thoroughly amazed, I imagine. There is so much more in there that was omitted in the movies, understandably unless you want 10h+ films each, but that is what makes this fictional world magical - Tolkien is very thorough with depictions and tiny details all the time - it is annoying at times, but it is what makes that world come alive in your imagination, vivid and focused. I was wondering if I should watch this series, knowing it is probably another woke shovelware but hope never dies right. Now I am outta luck (until/if this War Of The Rohirrim pans out) but you still have the whole world of Middle Earth to explore! Skip this trash and read the books, you lucky bas*ard.

I definitely respect the fact that Galadriel is extremely wise and powerful in the LOTR trilogy and Hobbit trilogy, but if you consider elf lore, you assume Galadriel gained her power over her many centuries of life… but no apparently shes a bad ass from childhood which kinda ruins the archetype of gained wisdom. O and I hate the fact they portray teenage Elrond as lesser than Galadriel
But that is the point exactly, they don’t understand the archetype or why sticking to it is important. Mythological writing is important in our understanding of how the world should work, and when it isn’t based in reality people will naturally be uncomfortable with it and walk away.
Wait, but in the books, they mentioned multiple times that she was by far, one of the most powerful. Definitely more powerful than Elrond. I think it is your wishful thinking that Tolkien didn't write her that way. The wisdom she would gain over time would likely stop her from being a frontline, hot headed warrior.
12:00 I think here you've really started to hit upon something. The issue of smugness and smug feminist girl power characters is disgusting and boring. South Park had a great episode years ago about leftist smugness. It travelled around like a fart cloud of smog and leftists were shown to love sniffing their own smug.
The issue I have with the black cast is not just that they are colonising an Anglo-Saxon mythology, it's also that the producers said the series would "represent the world" but has only 2 continents' peoples (and an Iranian woman) on screen.
Since this is fiction (right?), I was willing to suspend disbelief where the black hobbits and elves were concerned. It. Is. Fiction. Artistic license. Right? Can you imagine what would have happened if they'd failed to include black cast?
@@bkf8166 neither the hobbits nor elves make much, if any sense. The elves originally didn’t live in sunlight , only starlight (think nighttime as shown in movies), in the first age, which is when the vast majority of them would have been born or created. So there’s no real reason for them to be dark-skinned at all, even if you ignore that they’re invariably described as fair-skinned in the books. They only work if you’re ignoring the source material. The hobbits make no sense not because there are black hobbits, but because only some of them are black (again if we’re going to ignore lore descriptions). Such a group as shown would not be able to retain such a diversity of skin tones for more than a couple of generations at most unless there was deliberate self-segregation going on, and that would only slow down the process since you’d run out of non-close relatives pretty quickly if you broke such a small group into even smaller groups based on skin color. They’d eventually either split or become mixed, either of which would end in a group with only one skin prevailing skin tone among them.
@@John-fk2ky Yes. Much does not adhere to canon OR logic. I'm not ignoring the source material, but I'm certainly NOT going to let that stop me from enjoying what's turning out to be some incredible filmmaking and storytelling about a world that I dearly love.

Thanks for the refreshing honesty! It's so sad (but not surprising) that ROP has reduced Gil-galad's character to stupidly incompetent at best and duplicitous at worst. The real Gil-galad is noble and brave, but also wise, generous, and kind. He warned the king of Numenor that a servant of Morgoth was still at work in the world - 300 years before Sauron reappeared in disguise.

So true.
I was going to comment something of that nature, too.

Well said.
So is her being a female the only reason you can relate to her?
@@AbeusMaximus I do appreciate the compliment, and I apologize for going on a tangeant. Casting really depends. You can totally have other races in fantasy settings but you need actual lore/background for it. Such as "the swordsman from the east" (samurai) Black Dwarves on the other hand don't make sense because Dwarves live in mountains and caves.

Just wait for the new Disney black Little Mermaid
Timeless.

This fiasco began with Jeff Bezos saying he wanted a Game of Thrones for Amazon, so your guess is pretty much accurate.

@@anthonyyoutubefan7567 Oh wow, that's enough to make a grown man cry. Yes I had no idea, I absolutely adored the movies but never read the books but know enough surface level lore to know that Rings of Power is pure trash. Also being a fan of anime I'm excited to see more! Thank you
@@GoBuddieGo Read the books, I beg you.
Cant wait to see a white person in Wakanda sometime. And not an albino black person then i mean xD
The Winter Soldier lived in Wakanda for some time in the MCU movies. White Tiger Kaspar Cole lived in Wakanda in the comics. You must be new to comics and MCU movies. 🙂
@@THEREALZENFORCE Ment from hahaha xD
Nobody ever accepts a self-serving hero, without a strict code of honor as "good", because only those differenciate him/her from a rogue.
Read the Silmarillion cause you're point is pretty stupid...
12:00 I think here you've really started to hit upon something. The issue of smugness and smug feminist girl power characters is disgusting and boring. South Park had a great episode years ago about leftist smugness. It travelled around like a fart cloud of smog and leftists were shown to love sniffing their own smug.
In regards to Galadriel, always remember, the C is always right.
@@bkf8166 next black panther movie better have white villigers then
@@bkf8166 neither the hobbits nor elves make much, if any sense.
And totally ignore Rhun, Harad, etc. etc. cuz those places dun exist in their minds and why set a story there of all places, right?
I found the Harad-DLC thingy for Shadow of War to be quite interesting and a nice visual change of pace.
"When you go woke you go broke" I love the quote!!! 😄👍❤️🇺🇸
The rings of power is to Tolkien what discovery is to Star Trek
Thanks for the refreshing honesty! It's so sad (but not surprising) that ROP has reduced Gil-galad's character to stupidly incompetent at best and duplicitous at worst. The real Gil-galad is noble and brave, but also wise, generous, and kind. He warned the king of Numenor that a servant of Morgoth was still at work in the world - 300 years before Sauron reappeared in disguise.
U’re right .
He’s the one notice about the presence of Sauron in SA.
Even before Eregion establishment.
What do you use to record from your Electro Voice RE20?
It goes through a Cloulifter activator & then a Focusrite Scarlet amplifier.
I record using Adobe Audition.
Mr. Reagan; you know I will never be able to watch this show the same way after you pointed out all these artistic faux pas. 😉
Autistic*
I can't wait till they make a movie like shaft and have a white man play shaft or how about the next Black panther movie star be a white man...
Thank you for watching this and giving a review. I wasn’t planning to watch it and grateful I didn’t waste any time. The review was totally well worth my time!
You just brought to my attention that Mr Reagan had my complete interest for 44 minutes and I absorbed waaay more in less than an hour's time from him than I've gotten out of all of the episodes that have "aired" so far, lol
38:00, I'm not sure this is not canon. Dwarf women are repeatedly referred to as tough by Gimli, also they are rumored to sometimes be bearded and this female dwarf has facial hair. You may want to rethink this critique.
So they were bragging about "writing the story that Tolkien never thought about"... Indeed, Tolkien wouldn't write this shit!
The first time I saw the previews for this remake of something that was already near perfect...
I knew, it was going to be an abomination of the original movies. Middle Earth was never meant for this woke, or filled with out of place, unlikable characters. Batgirl?
How would one know if it’s a flop? Everyone I know already has Amazon prime and I doubt they release any real numbers of how many people watch
By the fact that they're blocking any review 5 stars or less.
I watched first LOTR in 2001 as a teenager in India, it did not even come to my mind about "racial diversity" of characters it being based in Europe (which was by default) and not even demand it 😅 While it did not even bother me when Morgan Freeman becoming God in Bruce Almighty because his personality was enough to be called as God. Nor it did matter various racial characters in POTC series, especially Johnny depp looks racially ambiguous. This push is just unecessary and is also only considered for American (western) audience it is really nonsensical factor and infact ruins the setup/plot of the movie.
Jack Sparrow is based on a crypto jew pirate in real life
How about Robert Downey Jr. Playing a black man in tropic thunder
@@jasonroberts6080 That was a comedy film and some background of the character.
Funfact God is actually Morgan Freeman in the real world trolling us with that fact in the Bruce Almighty movie. A joke on us by God of divine proportions.
That is so funny you bring that up -- as a white person of faith it never once bothered me that Morgan Freeman played God, LOL
Galadriel as a character is horrible. I read that Morfydd is a Tolkien fan and her best friends are huge fans so she would talk to them about the character to make sure to get her right. I think Morfydd needs new friends.
