travel recap vlog || bali - seminyak & ubud || may 2024

this #solotrip to #bali was a gift to myself for getting past a job layoff...before i started my new full-time job! ramping up in said job is also why it took me forever to get this vlog up. i was also having a bout of "perfectionism paralysis." anyway, note that i planned the trip to be more on the side of relaxing than adventuring, so if you're looking for tips on doing ATV and kayaking excursions, snorkeling footage, etc -- this is not the video for you. with that said, i did include some general tips for Bali travel that i gathered from across google, blogs, reddit, and of course, the travel health clinic nurse i saw beforehand. :)
something i forgot to say in the video!! taking probiotic supplements before and during your trip to bali will help a lot at preventing severe upset stomach; i also took activated charcoal pills for the few meals i knew i felt bad about. i definitely think it would've been worse without them.
allllsooooo....yes, you'll have to negotiate when shopping for souvenirs, tours, excursions, etc. approach it with respect for yourself and the other party, but at some point, a good strategy is just to walk away. i made the mistake of not negotiating harder when i was at my water sports place and felt a bit ripped off; i paid about 1 mil Indonesian rupiah (~$62 USD) for just jet ski and parasailing :( but as i said in the video, i brushed it off and enjoyed my experience in the air while parasailing. people want to earn a buck.
