Plus he’s fasting He wasn’t even giving 100% He needs to work more on his head movements but burns is literally the one who should’ve been better since he has more experience…
He lost rounds 2/3 and got Outlanded in strikes 141 to 124 and got hurt multiple times it was a hell of a fight unbelievable fight to be real but I think Gilbert Burns won that for them to say UD is just bs a draw would have been great
Rewatch that third round. I was also of the opinion that Burns won 2 and 3. But if you rewatch Hamzat clearly won the 3rd. He landed so many jabs only towards the end Burns landed a few in that round
Exactly he got his takedowns ground n pounded burns and was in control most of the fight while burns didn't land not one takedown and was on the defense most of the fight khamzat won that but it was a good fight.
He got carried away at the end of the 2nd cuz he thought he had burns hurt again and left himself wide open which led to him getting cracked, this fight was a much needed learning experience because now we're probably gonna see a smart khamzat next fight which will be terrifying. Also shows just how underrated burns is and how dumb the odd makers are.
Chimaev got too excited and threw the gameplan they had for Burns out to then brawl with him in the second round. We saw in the 1st and 3rd when he stopped trying to brawl he had more success. He was also very successful when he just used his jab against Burns and the front kick down the middle to the chest. Most young fighters, especially in Chimaev's stage, would've given up and coasted the last round or even just fold in that second, he did not and continued to go out there to fight till the last sound of the bell. He showed that he deserves to be top 5 and can hang up there for a long time. Yes, Usman TKO'd Burns in the second but he also almost knocked out Usman in that first and won the first round there. Chimaev was tired in that 3rd round but so so was Burns both guys were exhausted yet Chimaev had more energy to go and stuck behind his jab using that range hence why he won that last round. Such a good fight though Chimaev will have to go back and improve on the holes that Burns revealed within his stand up which will be a monster if he patches those few things up. Chimaev's issues he needs to improve on are the mentality of sticking with the game plan and not getting too excited (like Justin Gaethje recently learned to do which is to stay disciplined), a little more headmovement, and I think that's pretty much it from what I saw. He had good faints, good jabs in both stances, good power in both, durable, good chin, and so forth. Burns is one of the top punchers in that division and the fact he was able to take so much of it proves the realness. A lot of people who keep comparing him to Khabib need to stop with that because we learned from all of his fights and this one that he isn't. I'm super interested if not more interested in seeing how his future in the fight game goes. Many of those that turned into the hype being real had one of these fights where they had to really dig deep and showed a lot of holes to where they came back even stronger and some even became Champions.
@@martymaiden8499 I think chimaev has the ability to beat him but he can’t fight emotional at all, if he’s dead set on knocking Colby out colbys pace will be too much for him in the later rounds.
Khamzats worst night because he fought a legit title contender lol. Their is a big difference between fighting people that nobody knows and fighting a legit title contender.
This fight was almost as good as Justin and chandler fight. I wanted burns to win but khamzat earned my respect. I still think he’s overrated I don’t think he can beat usman yet. Idk if he can deal with Colby’s stamina. He is a future champion tho
Fax. I was so confident in khamzat winning cause I thought it was a 5 rounder I only realized in the 2nd round that it’s a 3 rounder. Burns couldn’t go another round.
Yeah, after seeing Chimaev adjust in that last round to where he was starting to turn the tide back to him think he could've finished Burns in the 4th round if it did. Burns looked a lot more tired and was starting to go yet was willing to keep going while Chimaev had more to give.
They boo'd him bcus they thought he lost, ignore them florida crowd usually sucks. Tbh I did too watching live bcus I thought burns heavily outstruck him but it was only 1 sig strike more.
Na they wanted burns to win because burns lives and trains in Florida but the crowd was wrong for that it was so embarrassing like he just beat the #2 guy in the world people are so cruel. Smh
@@colostrum590 I would have thought that too, if it wasnt for the fact that when they both entered the crowd was chanting khamzats' name and was cheering him on while they were booing burns which was crazy. They realized in the 2nd round where burns was from lmao.
I watched the fight 2 times and still stand firm on saying Gilbert burns won rounds 2 and 3 and he Outlanded Him 141-124 total strikes and had more body shots as well and he hurt Khamzat like 5-6 times And it was 3 round fight it was a Draw At worse But Khamzat did not win by UD and I think it was an incredible fight
Khamzat won. Gilbert only knocked him down 1 time. Gilbert rocked Khamzat a 2nd time in round 2, but Khamzat kept swinging, Gilbert try to hit hil with an overhand, missed, but sorta pushed him so he fell down and from there grabbed Gilbert and got the takedown. Look carefully. Khamzat had control of the cage and applied forward pressure most of the fight.
Great fight. A lot of khamzat fanboys thought that he'd just run through burns. I've been saying that I did not see that happening. Khamzat may have overpowered lesser opponents but he wouldn't do that against burns. Khamzat is legit no doubt. But his weakness is his cardio. This khamzat cannot beat Colby because Colby will put a pressure on khamzat that will break him. Khamzat was gassing out in this fight and burns cannot put a pace on someone like Colby. Colby will wear him out. If khamzat fights like this against Usman then Usman will knock him out or destroy him on the feet. Usman is a better striker then burns and has as much power or more then burns.
Casuals kept saying Yan would murder aljo as if they never saw aljo fight prior to the first fight with Yan. Smh. All those haters are somewhere licking their wounds. Lol

Hamzat fought very recklessly and still won. The potential of this guy is huge.

Amazing fight I watched this at the movie threatre ...it was packed..the crowd hyped it upp🔥👌
Wow really thats incredible!!!
I can't believe I watched this fight in person
In 2021 we had Gaethje vs Chandler, this year 2022 we had Burns vs Chimaev ❤
Honestly, I think this fight was far better than the Gaethje vs Chandler fight.

no cuz he fought reackless and left the gameplan he's 27 that's his 5th fight burns has been fighting for years and he got 5 rounds before
Corrections : burns didnt push him down, it was a shot at behind the ears where it can easily knockdown any fighter and 2nd round was easily burns
