Why does Jesus say in the Bible essentially that when the end comes, people will be marrying and partying and carrying on with life just like in the days of Noah? (Matthew 24: 37-39) It came as a surprise out of nowhere. How could this account match up the belief of a coming 7 year worldwide tribulation/persecution?

@jaysonb.6669 Yes. The unexpected return of Jesus is pretty much negated by the theological story of the Church being raptured which commences the 7-year tribulation to the 2nd Coming. “But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
30 “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.

I'm reading God's Truth, and trying to do so without any prejudices at all. I do not embrace any of the "isms", and I certainly don't care when people say that, to believe one "ism", you need to believe that a certain event will take place, but to believe another, you need to believe it will not. Rapture and Israel are examples. These ways of seeing seem to create checkmate situations ; mutual exclusiveness. We have a bloke like Chuck Missler - an excellent Bible scholar - telling us that the Bible should be taken literally, and that therefore prophecies concerning "Israel" refer to the country of the same name founded in 1948, and sometimes it's hard to disagree. We have certain preterists telling us the Bible should be taken literally, and that means everything was fulfilled at AD 70. We have people who believe both. We have people who believe Israel is now ONLY spiritual, not a place on the map.
Anyway, what I do find, however, is that "preterists" like Jeff Durbin and Hank seem to depress me and vex the spirit. Whenever they claim that much of the prophecy has been fulfilled, there seems something wrong; a kind of disingenuous, deceptive, shrugging optimism, sort of like whistling in the dark and expecting everyone else to do the same. For example, Jeff despairs because people wouldn't want to have kids during this time in history. He thinks they're misguided. What if there was a Jeff Durbin in the Soviet Union in 1917, Germany in 1933, Cambodia in 1976? Or a Hank Hanegraaf? If people had listened to that undertone of "don't worry, Jesus wins, the kingdom is here. Just marry and give in marriage. have children" logic, they'd have seen their children murdered before their eyes. It's understandable that people would want to avoid that situation. Today, we seem to be on the verge of a situation that is much worse. This time, for the first time, these troubles will be worldwide, and that seems to fit some of the descriptions of Revelation. It is what many believers in end-time prophecy might call an apocalyptic time. It certainly seems that we're back at Babel. It certainly seems that history is culminating in something. The "calm the farm" approach of people like Hank and Jeff SEEMS utterly misplaced. But I might be wrong. Maybe I don't know enough yet. However, I'll proceed...
People with this view do seem to politicise events and claim some political act is a manifestation of God's will being carried out in His kingdom, which is here, now. Well, since abortion, free sex, transgenderism, same-sex marriage, all manner of social chaos and (coming to a town near you) paedophilia, etc., have practically been legislated INTO existence, or made possible via pharmaceuticals and media, I find it hard to subscribe to that view. There's just something huge missing in this logic. But I might be wrong. I need to keep reading the Scriptures until God emerges for me.
I know one thing: Many Christian churches have actively facilitated these societal sins, or at best ignored them, which is why our job is so hard today. Maybe that's why Hank sees some solace in the Eastern Orthodox church he's now joined. I don't know.
Anyway, what I do seem to see in Scriptures so far are dualities all over the place. A sentence can begin by talking to the people of the time, and by the time it has ended, it's clearly talking "through" that subject to another time. God doesn't live in the space-time continuum (though he can, obviously) because he created it. He doesn't present time in a linear fashion the way we might. So in Scripture, sometimes He makes connections that we find incomprehensible.
Not only that, but a sentence can begin by speaking of a physical event, but it turns out it was talking about a spiritual one all along. This was one of Jesus' most-used methods. There are many, many examples of this in Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and in Jesus' utterances. Given the amazing complexity of the Bible for those who want to keep digging (salvation doesn't depend on it though), I'd suggest that the events of AD 70 were both relevant to those at the time, but also a "type" of the world as it will become. If Hank believes Jesus is alluding back to Judah Maccabeus and also looking forward to the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, then it's perfectly consistent he might also be speaking to US, today, about a third event. If we look at a phrase like "abomination of desolation", for instance, we can see it seems to apply at least twice in ancient times, to Antiochus Epiphanes and Titus the Roman general, and to a third, who has not yet come. I'm already discovering that this would be entirely in keeping with the way Scripture is written.
I respect Hank's scholarship and faithfulness, as I do Missler's, McArthur's and those great apologists like John Lennox and Ravi Zacharias. I disagree with most of them one one point or another, based on what God's Word is revealing to me, but I realise I might be wrong. With people who hold Hank's and Jeff's views, though, I can't get over this spiritual disquiet. For now, anyway.
    Love and blessings to everyone.

His first comment was to deflect from a formal "Tribulation" to just common tribulation that all Christians will face because of their faith in Christ. He didn't even recognize the caller's true question about the "time of Jacob's trouble." Did you notice the total denial right off the bat. That is your first clue.
So to help the caller out, yes you can see that the time of Jacob's trouble begins when the abomination of desolation occurs in Daniel 9:27. The reason we know that this event has not occurred is due to the clue buried in verse 26. It says "the people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary." Okay we recognize that the city and the sanctuary were destroyed in 70AD. Most of the false teachers out there use this to deny anything related to a future temple or end times specifically as it pertains to the Jewish people.
But who are the people of the ruler to come? Now we get down to some real Bible study. But we also have to take a history lesson. Officially Rome gets credit for the destruction of the city and temple. Unofficially, the Romans were not actually the people who destroyed the city. Go dig up and discover what the majority of Roman legions were built from that were in the region at the time. You will discover they weren't Roman. They were conscripts from the surrounding peoples. Who were the surrounding peoples? Go trace the discovery of the land of Canaan from the time of Abraham. Who has Israel primarily fought in that land from ancient days? Yes there you go. Assyrians. And who did that people turn into after the 7th century? Yes that is correct. It's the ancient war between Allah and God. And if you are not sure of what I am saying, go to Daniel 11:37. This ruler is detailed a little more:
The Muslim Anti-Christ does not honor the god of his fathers. Who was the god of his fathers? Yahweh. Did you know that Ishmael worshipped the same God that Abraham did? It took a number of generations for the lineage to fall away from the true God. And what religion did they turn to? That's right, a god of fortresses (violence) as it says next in verse 37. Who projects a religion of violence in the world today? Especially toward the Jewish people? You got it, Islam.
So caller, to answer your question properly, you need to dig a little deeper into Daniel to discover that while Rome is officially recognized for destroying the city and sanctuary in 70AD, they are not the people that the future leader will come from. In fact however, the Anti-Christ will strike an unholy alliance with Rome, as evidenced by the woman riding the beast in Revelation. So stay tuned to your television (or the Bible if you read it correctly) to see how the alliance between Rome and Islam play together in the next few years to set up the 7 year Tribulation that is still to come.

@nyeahgarner2420 this isn't about the Jesus you know, there's nothing to do with what I'm saying, it has to do with the fact that they are lying. Lucifer has created a deception. The end times and the millennial Reign already happened. Jesus said many times in the Bible that it would happen in his generation and the disciples would still be alive when he came in the clouds. And you're right, I don't know what Jesus you know, because the Jesus I'm speaking of is the Jesus from the bible. Straight up and I can refute anything anyone says because I've done it so many times. I'm telling you bro it's already happened, and they want to convince you it hasn't happened. This way if they use Project Blue beam or whatever they decide to use to fake a Rapture and nobody goes up, then everybody will hate Jesus because they'll think that he left them. Then the entire world can be gathered together from Gog and Magog and they will encircle the encampment of the Saints and then all about Will Rain fire down from heaven and kill all of them.
You need to look at this from a different perspective, look at it in a perspective in which Lucifer has been deceiving everybody. Don't look at it as if your church didn't teach it then it's not true, you need to go to the Bible and accept the fact that most of the churches these days are teaching a false doctrine. Most of the churches these days are 5013 churches which means they are tax-exempt, and if you look at what the statutes are for tax-exempt, they aren't allowed to say certain things. They have to be all inclusive as well. That's why so many churches now are going trans and lgbtq+.
I encourage you to pray about what we are saying and ask the Lord to reveal it to you and I promise you he will. But you have to be ready for it and you have to be willing to learn.
It's been 13 years of me being involved in the truth movement and researching The Bible and what's going on these days and I've asked him for more and more knowledge over and over and over and then the last thing I got was this. I'm telling you my friend I am not lying to you.

Jerusalem has already been in ruins and was only rebuilt partly, as you can see was also Rome and other big cities which were just rebuild and renovated in a much smaller amount than it was originally. And just to answer the other critical commentator @Knowledge of God: Satan already sits in the holy place as god because the holy place is the temple of GOD and this temple is the body and heart of man. To think that satan would want to live in a building made by hands is just ridiculous. The Anti-Christ does, which is the pope and the catholic church which resides in stone temples but Satan himself wants to be GOD of mankind so he wants to live inside US, our hearts. Just walk outside and look at the world the people live in today. It is purely satanic and they LOVE it. They worship Satan. If you can't see it you won't see it. The world already ended a few centuries ago and the FREEMASONS were the builders who REBUILD and CECONSTRUCTED the old world that has already been destroyed. But it took some time until now. If you wait for Satan to arrive in a space ship to come down and live in a church you must be blinded by GOD for your ignorance. Satan is a SYSTEM that was thrown into prison when babylon and the whole world was destroyed and is now rising back from the prison with the help of those who hate CHRIST.

Thus, the Great Tribulation instigated by Nero is the antitype for every type and tribulation that follows before we experience the reality of our own resurrection at the Second coming of Christ” (Hank Hanegraaff and Signund Brouwer, The Last Disciple [Wheaton, IL: Tyndale, 2004], 395). It is the struggle of the fledgling Christian Church under the persecution of Nero that made that great tribulation like none other.

If you cannot come to truly believe and trust that the words of Jesus are true and fulfilled in the first century in these three verses; MT 10:22-23, MT 16:27-28, & MT 24:34; Then you cannot truly believe and trust in Jesus either. But you can think that you trust Him. And that's the irony of it.

Absolutely! You would be denying Christ’s words. He said this generation to them would not escape the damnation in Matthew 23:36 to the Scribes & Pharisees that all theses things would come upon this generation, speaking in reference to them.
In Matthew 24:3 the disciples asked him what would be the sign of his coming & the end of the age. Some Bibles say world which is translated from the Greek aion -ahem-ohn which means age. He was to return at the end of the age. The end of the law & the end of the law of Moses would be fulfilled. Jesus came to fulfill the law. Matthew 5:17-18 he also said that the gospel of the kingdom would be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, then the end would come. The word world is translated oikoumene - which means the terrene area of the globe specifically the Roman Empire-earth world. Not our world today. The Roman armies were the desolation that Jesus mentioned in Matthew 24:15. Luke 21:20 Jesus said when you see Jerusalem surround by armies they would know that the desolation was near! This all occurred in A.D.70 This is just some information covering it all. In Revelation 1:3 Jesus told John the time was at hand! Revelation 22:10 John was told not to seal the sayings of the prophecy, for the time was at hand. This was because the book of Daniel was being opened & revealed & not to be sealed as Daniel was told to do until the tie of trouble for God’s people! 70 A.D.! The book of Daniel was the fulfillment of the book of Revelation in the time of the end. The end of an age for the Jews, the end of the covenant & the beginning of the new covenant God had promised. This is also why the vail in the temple was torn in two not with human hands.
Look up at hand in a concordance.the Greek at hand means near or ready.John the Baptist said repent to the Jews, for kingdom of heaven was at hand. Matthew 3:2 Matthew 4:17 Jesus said repent, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. John 2:13 the Jews Passover was at hand and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. There are many other scriptures that attest to Christ’s return in A.D.70 too much to cover here. Many are making Christ a liar & will not admit the truth.

At some point in Revelation does it suddenly flash forward to the actual return of Christ? Jesus says, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God." See also Matthew 16:28 and Mark 9:1 for the parallel quotes. How plain can it get? For those who say He was referring to the transfiguration, does not make any sense. Which one(s) of the disciples was going to die before the next event? The answer is zero and Jesus knew it. He wasn’t going to tell them which ones of them would be dead by 67 AD. Just that some standing there would be living by that time.

Often wondered after reading Mathew 24 if Jesus had actually returned in that generation... 🤔If he did, imo tribulation started back then and is still going on, only a matter of time until we hit the great tribulation if we're not in it already we're definitely close to it. I see not reason to believe tribulation was only gonna last 7 years like many claim, there's really no timeline on it accept what people put on it. I think the time we put on it is the problem and that's were many get confused. There's tribulation, then there's great tribulation... and right now I'm convinced we're in that transition or just right past it considering upcoming events. Where people go wrong is in the dates and times of events, but there's zero scriptures explaining those timelines... timeline is made up by so-called theologians. For all we really know, tribulation can last for centuries, and I've believed it that way for years now. Tribulation is a time when Satan rules, and our very long history proves he has since Jesus death and resurrection.

He used the same language when he said, Cast this mountain into the sea... Which mountain was he standing beside when he said these words... Jerusalem. Well the picture of the GREAT tribulation was a picture of suffering that would not be surpassed either in the years gone as well as years to come. Hence the tribulation of AD 70 comes no where near to the tribulations of today, especially in regards to the Jews. Have the Jews ever suffered greater tribulation as what happened under Hitler? I think not and yet there is worse to come for the Jews. The amount of Christians who suffered tribulation around 70 AD is nowhere close to what Christians have and are still suffering today. More Christians have died for their faith in Christ in the last 100 years than all persecutions and tribulations that happened since Christ.

    • @BibleAnswerMan
      @BibleAnswerMan  5 месяцев назад

@masterkay6383 The unparalleled tribulation in Matthew 24 concerned the persecution of Christians in the days of Nero prior to the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in AD 70. What is true about that great tribulation is simply untrue of any other tribulation before or after.
Hank says, “The Last Disciple series places the Great Tribulation precisely where it belongs, in a first-century milieu in which ‘the last disciple’ comforts believers in the throes of the mother of all persecutions.” His reasoning here is that “the horror of the Great Tribulation included not only the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple but the persecution of the apostles and prophets who penned the Scriptures and formed the foundation of the Christian church of which Christ himself was the chief cornerstone. Thus, the Great Tribulation instigated by Nero is the antitype for every type and tribulation that follows before we experience the reality of our own resurrection at the Second Coming of Christ” (Hank Hanegraaff and Sigmund Brouwer, The Last Disciple [Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., 2004], 395.) Hank argues, furthermore, that the Lord Jesus himself established the first-century time parameter when he prophesied concerning the Great Tribulation, “I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened” (Matt. 24:34, NIV). Keep in mind, however, that in Hank’s view the first-century fulfillment demonstrates that Christians of all times and places face tribulations and persecutions, for we, too, bear the mark of the Lamb as did first-century Christians (Ibid.).

1000 is never a literal Biblical number. Old Testament imagery was riddled with symbolic language as was most literature, then and now. Seven means completion and infinity, since it has no beginning and no ending. Forty is a generation. Twelve means perfect symmetry. Scripture is inspired by the Holy Spirit, but written by men under that inspiration. They use the language they know. Jeremiah uses poetry throughout his writing. John uses juxtaposition, etc. God owns the cattle on 1000 hills in Psalm 50. Does he not own the cattle on the 1001st? Of course he does. In Deuteronomy, it says He is faithful to the 1000th generation. New Testament language has to be read in light of old testament language as Jews would understand it, not as moderns would. In the ancient world ... actually much of the modern world too until the last century or so of the West, 1000 meant "multitude." It doesn't mean the Bible is in error, but that it means what it's intended to mean. Myself, I do believe we're in the millennium (and I didn't even bump my head!). @@jwinfrey6298

Jesus was the two witnesses. He represents the two wittinesses.
The two witnesses are called the two olive trees that stand before the Lord of the earth..According to Zechariah 4:11-14 the two olive trees that stand before the Lord are the king & high priest. Also in the original manuscripts the Bible uses the singular tense when describing the deaths of the two witnesses in Revelation 11:9. Jesus is the true witness & is called a witness twice in the book of Revelation. This is a subtle hint that Jesus is the two witnesses of Revelation 11
Interestingly in Isaiah 55:3-4 the Messiah, the son of David is addressed as a witness. In Revelation 10:1.
Jesus two legs are mentioned as pillars of fire. Pillars are used throughout the Bible to represent witnesses.
Jesus stated that he spoke the words of the father. The words of his testimony were of two. -John 12:49-50
The Pharisees challenged him John 8:13-18

FIRST , WHO IS JESUS TALKING TO ?
JESUS IS TALKING TO HIS DISCIPLES , WHO ARE ISRAELITES .
WHEN WAS THE TEMPLE , JERUSALEM AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL MADE DESOLATE ?
THE TEMPLE , JERUSALEM AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WERE MADE DESOLATE IN 70 A.D. .
WHO MADE THE TEMPLE , JERUSALEM AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL DESOLATE ?
THE GOD OF ISRAEL , THROUGH THE ROMAN ARMIES .
DID JESUS GIVE THE FAITHFUL A WARNING OF THIS DESOLATION ?
MATTHEW 24:15-20 , " 15.When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
THE ROMAN ARMIES FIRST SURROUNDED JUDAEA SEVERAL YEARS EARLIER , BUT WITHDREW .
JESUS IS TELLING THEM TO FLEE AFTER THIS HAPPEN , BY READING DANIEL THE PROPHET .
DANIEL 9:26 , " 26.And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

AS THE ONE'S WHO READ AND BELIEVED CHRIST WARNING , FLED AFTER THE ARMIES WITHDREW .
IN MATTHEW 24:17-20 , CHIRST IS SHOWING THEM THE IMPORTANT OF WHILE THEY MUST FLEE JUDAEA .
MATTHEW 24:21 , " 21.For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
WHEN JESUS SAID : " SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD " , HE WAS REFERRING TO ISRAEL , THE ONLY NATION UNDER THE LAW OF THE FATHER ; THE ONLY NATION THAT HE HAST MADE A COVENANT TO KEEP HIS LAWS .
EZEKIEL 5:5-17 , " 5.Thus saith the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her.
6And she hath changed my judgments into wickedness more than the nations, and my statutes more than the countries that are round about her: for they have refused my judgments and my statutes, they have not walked in them.
      7Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye multiplied more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my judgments, neither have done according to the judgments of the nations that are round about you;
8Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.
9And I will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations.
10Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter into all the winds.
11Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity.
12A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.
13Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.
14Moreover I will make thee waste, and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.
15So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments in thee in anger and in fury and in furious rebukes. I the LORD have spoken it.
16When I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, which shall be for their destruction, and which I will send to destroy you: and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread:
17So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.

MATTHEW 24:29-31 , " 29.Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

There are a whole lot of words here and he didn't actually answer the man's question. It's very simple. The great tribulation, the time of Jacob's trouble, as outlined in the book of Revelation has not happened yet. It is that simple.

@David Sheperd also, I'm not Pentecostal or any other denomination. I believe the bible as it is written......nothing more.....nothing less. I don't know exactly what they told you about the end times, but if you are a christian, you don't have to worry about the antichrist and the beheadings and God's wrath. If you are truly saved you will be taken out of the world in the rapture before any of God's wrath is poured out.

    • @archek521
      @archek521 2 года назад

@Ophiuchus13 I don't see a problem with the tribulation being yet future. When you take passages out of their context you miss a lot. Seeing as how Jesus is the first fruit of the resurrection. Second, when did all of the fish in the sea die like revelations says will happen in the tribulation? When did the grass burn up? When did 2/3 of the world's population die? When did the islands sink into the ocean or the mountains fall flat like revelations says they will? When did the demonic stinging creatures sting the people until they wished they could die? And when was death taken from the earth for a time so that those who wished they could die could not die? When you take passages of the Bible out of their context then you can make the Bible say anything you want. When you do that all you do is deceive yourself and others around you.

    • @archek521
      @archek521 2 года назад +1

@Ophiuchus13 I understand what first fruits are as a sacrifice to God. Try doing a study of the fact that Jesus is the first fruit of the resurrection.

    • @archek521
      @archek521 2 года назад

@Ophiuchus13 Your first problem is in saying that Christ was "a" first fruit. No. He is THE first fruit. The Bible says that the 144,000 we're "purchased as first fruits" in the tribulation. Different people are described in different ways in the Bible. The 144,000 will be 12,000 each from the 12 tribes of Israel in the tribulation period. Context has a purpose. I'm not denying the 144,000 are first fruits of the tribulation.
Why are you ignoring all of the passages that clearing show that the tribulation is still yet future seeing as how the event in the tribulation have never been seen on the scale that they are described in Revelation?
You have missed the fact that the 144,000 are not martyred for their faith, they are kept through the tribulation period. Again, context is important.

In Revelation 5 9-10, Before John is shown anything regarding the "tribulation", we see in heaven people of all nations and who have been saved by God's blood.
Are you willing to say that before 70 AD the gospel spread to all nations, all tongues, all kindreds, and all peoples?
If yes, then provide evidence that every nation before 70ad knew about Christ.
If no, then you must reject preterism. Preterism would be against scriptures, and against history.

English please!!! Not everyone tries to insert big words into their vocabulary in order to persuade others they are intelligent just to influence the populace that they must be right because they sound smart and have a jesuit education. Jesus warned against people like that who use great swelling words to capture others. Those with God's spirit are humble and meek and use simplicity and clarity to bring others to the truth. They arent puffed up with pride from knowledge,, nor do they try to cram as many large words as they can into a simple answer that ends up making the truth that much more difficult to understand. They bring clarity. Hank easily reveals the spirit of pride through his behavior and speech. He acts as though he's smarter then everyone and ends up just making things more confusing in his attempt to appear as though he's intelligent therefor he must be right rather then bringing edification to others. His pride decieves him about many things surrounding Gods word. God only gives his truth to the simple and humble in heart who can reveal his mysteries in a way that others can easily understand and not be afraid to ask questions.

There is no PRE-trib rapture. Although there are 2 raptures at Jesus coming. That is to say that at the second coming of Jesus, the dead in Christ will rise first to meet Jesus in the air, and 2nd the living will be gathered to meet christ in the air also.
Notice Jesus tells us in the book of Mark when he is coming for the elect and it's after the tribulation, though not before the sun and moon are darkened
Tribulation saints are those whom die in Jesus name during the time of the tribulation.
Though the tribulation is not to be mistaken for the Wrath of God that will be poured out after the rapture, that is appointed for the unbelievers and those who took the Mark of the beast.
    - Mark 13:23-27
23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
Jesus and most all the apostles were killed as exapmles as how we should also be obedient unto death
    -- 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Do you believe this happened in the first century? Matthew 24:30-31: “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then ALL the peoples of the earth (NOT just Jerusalem) will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, (NOT just Jerusalem) from one end of the heavens to the other."
IF this happened in the first century and ALL the peoples of the earth saw the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, I think it would be the most spectacular event in all of history and historical records around the entire world would be rife with reports of dumbfounded people in total shock at the most amazing sight ever! Notice it says ALL the people of the earth and not just those around Jerusalem. Or are you saying All the peoples of the earth is a metaphor for people around Jerusalem.
Also, Peter says, "The Day of the Lord comes as a thief, the heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will melt in fervent heat, and the earth and all its works will be laid bare. Sorry, this did NOT happen in the first century Jerusalem.
Also, Strong's Concordance says about "genea" the Greek word translated as generation: Definition: RACE, family, generation Usage: a generation; if repeated twice or with another time word, practically indicates infinity of time. By the way, it's where we get the word genealogy. So, it does NOT by necessity mean one generation or present generation.
Plus Matthew says, this Gospel would be preached to the WHOLE world and then the end shall come. Surely you don't think the Gospel was preached to the whole world in the first century. AND remember Matthew says, "If those days aren't shortened, ALL flesh would be destroyed..." The tribulation in Israel in the first century did not come close to that kind of world-wide destruction. Matthew also says, "Immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened and the moon not give it's light." That did NOT happen in the 1st century.

Jesus said in this world you will have tribulation. That' s not what jesus is talking about at Mat 24:21 Jesus is talking about the Great Tribulation, a unique FUTURE event:
Did Jesus already come? Preterists say yes in 70 AD. But just ask yourself, was 70 AD the worst time in human history? The answer has to be yes for Jesus to have come then.
Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, NO, NOR EVER SHALL BE. Let's look at the facts: From 66 AD to 70 AD, one million Jews killed. From 1941 AD to 1945 AD, SIX million Jews killed. In addition, 2 world wars where over 65 million were killed. And the worst is yet to come: Rev 9:15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. A third part of mankind would be in the billions!
Mat 24:29 IMMEDIATELY after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man COMING in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. So Hank trying to shoehorn the future into the past doesn't pass the test of Scripture. Don't believe him or me or anyone without first consulting with the Scriptures, Be a Berean: Act 17:11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

The Great Tribulation that Jesus speaks about in Matthew 24: 21 CANNOT have happened in 70 AD. Here is why:
    1) Jesus says this happens IMMEDIATELY after and it did not.: "29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
    a) Josephus records nothing like a great sign in the heavens in 70 AD even if you think the exact description is poetic license.
    b) All the Gentile tribes did not mourn in 70 AD - only the Jews. The Romans threw a party.
    c) Jesus did NOT return in 70 AD, not even in the heavens. Josephus and the Romans could NOT have missed this.
    d) There was NO trumpet blowing and gathering the elect from everywhere. Just one million Jews dying and more taken slaves.
    2) 70 AD was NOT the "great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." This is just historical fact. WWI was way worse. WWII was far worse than that, even for the Jews. Either Jesus was a liar OR he did NOT mean 70 AD.
    3) By 70 AD verse 14, "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." had NOT happened yet. That did not happen in any meaningful way until the 19th Century AD.
    4) As we saw with verses 29-31 this tribulation immediately precedes the return of Jesus. But you will say he came in the heavens in 70 AD, HOWEVER, verses 24-27 rules that out. "24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Jesus is clearly talking about his BODILY return to earth on the Mount of Olives. (See Acts 1:11-12 and Zach 14:4)

@johnbreitmeier3268 Your response looks for the Second Coming in all the wrong places. Even Paul thought the gospel was proclaimed in all creation (Col. 1:23).

@@BibleAnswerMan So you think looking in the very words of Jesus is the wrong place? Sad and ignorant.
Ask yourself this genius: If Paul actually meant that the gospel had been preached to every creature by 60 AD, why did he still want to go to Spain??
Who genius evangelized Germany by 60 AD?
Who made it to sub-Saharan Africa outside of Ethiopia?
Who made it to Ireland by 60 AD?
Who made it to the Americas by 60 or 70 AD?
I gave you scripture after scripture proving my case. You said go read my website that no one reads. that is NOT gonna happen. IF you actually HAD a real argument you would have at least givemn a summary. You can't.

I like Hank, but he gets it wrong here. The temple being destroyed was in 70 A.D., John didn't write the book of Revelation until around 95 A.D. He also said the temple shall be rebuilt then destroyed (future tense). The temple didn't need rebuilt in 70 A.D., it had been around for centuries at that point. Plus, it says we will be like Jesus in our glorified bodies...anyone here have your glorified body? I sure don't. Is Jesus ruling the world right now, absolutely not. Things are terrible at this point. The thousand years were up in 1070 if it was destroyed in 70 A.D. Where are the 144,000 Jews teaching the word? Where in recorded history does it say the Euphrates dried up and a 200,000,000 man army invaded Israel? Where is the Angel in the sky preaching the word? Who were the two witnesses that the bible foretold the world would see all at once killed and resurrected by Christ 3 days later? If the whole world saw it, it would have surely been recorded at some point, that's the purpose of everyone seeing it. So much biblical evidence to refute this teaching.

Preterists would claim all the stuff you mentioned in the bible
was never to be taken literally but was only figurative language.
[[ Plus, it says we will be like Jesus in our glorified bodies...
anyone here have your glorified body? ]]
They would say there are no real glorified bodies and
      it was only figurative language
[[ Where are the 144,000 Jews teaching the word? ]]
they would say there are no 144,000 it was only figurative
[[ Where in recorded history does it say the Euphrates dried up and
      a 200,000,000 man army invaded Israel? ]]
They would say it was figurative language and the Euphrates
river never dries up and the 200,000,000 mentioned in revelation
      doesn't exist because it's figurative.
Did you know Don K Present a leading preterist doesn't even
believe Jesus rose from the deadly bodily? He believes
Jesus rose from the dead as a spirit and all believers rise
from the dead the same as him as a spirit. Preston is on record
scoffing at people who believe Jesus is in a body saying do you
really believe Jesus is now a 5 foot 5 Jewish man?

*How come enjoy during Tribulation period*
google dictionary definition on the word of " Tribulation " says the following :👇
" a cause of great trouble or suffering."
If so, when we think of what Jesus Christ said in Mathew 24:
Why Post Tribulation belivers or ones who says Tribulation took place 70AD can not understand (using at least their common sense) how come people can enjoy and be in jubiliant mood by eating, drinking, partying, tamashas when that period called " Tribulation " ??
Jesus said clearly the period after the destruction Tample and events after before His Rapture & Second Coming.
If they continue to belive that Tribulation has occured or Bride of Chriet has to face Tribulation period, isn't it really funny or insane? 🤣
" No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
" As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark. And they were oblivious, until the flood came and swept them all away. So will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left "

@ricklamb772 No. All Scripture will have manifold application for the believers. Even fulfilled prophecy of Matthew 24 is applicable.
