Cassie, you should seek out some of the Behind the Scenes stuff. Those kids had an absolute blast while making this, even Georgie. Bill Skarsgard had a cool relationship with all of them. It makes me feel better if I watch something really scary to see what it was like behind the scenes.
Good on Cassie for making it through this. This movie seems like it's Cassie's worst nightmare since it focuses so much on horrible things happening to kids.
One of the reasons I haven’t been suggesting Doctor Sleep. Maybe not as scary as The Shining, but if you’ve seen it, you know the part I’m thinking of.
I think you're partly right at 44:06. In the book it's explained that children's fears are easier for IT to conjure up as they tend to be fairly solid, like a fear of monsters. When it comes to adults, fears tend to be more complicated, such as the fear of losing a job, fear of one's health declining, etc. But adults (at least in the book) can and do see IT, it's just that IT"S reality is so disturbing that they basically choose to ignore IT's existence.
I’m so proud of you for going WAY outside of your comfort zone with this one. After reading the book way back when, and watching the tv miniseries back in the 90s, I was very pleased with this adaptation. “He beat his fists against the post and still insists he sees the ghost”.
you should watch the series Castle Rock! its another Stephen King/Skarsgard mashup. a bit confusing at times, but well worth it for bill's performance.
Stephen King is a master of writing characters and psychological horror. This adaptation is fantastic. The kids are 10/10 and chapter 2 is a must-watch. Can’t wait for next Halloween(?). I hope, we don’t have to wait 27 years for IT to return to the channel. Thanks for watching and sharing this movie with us, Cassie.
I actually think Cassie should do Haunting of Hill House (the series) next spooky season. While somewhat scary, it has that This Is Us kind of emotional drama that she would probably enjoy. In any event, still looking forward to whatever she does. This was great!
Haunting of Hill house was so much more tame compared to IT and still faaaaar scarier. I absolutely loved that show and it would be perfect for this channel.
I want to congratulate you Cassie on making it through the movie but I especially want to thank whoever edits these videos who clearly takes a perverse pleasure in watching you jump and make it slo-mo for us. The best to you, Carly, the family and the folks in the comments.
It was initially going to be a trilogy because the book is so long, but the production company shredded it down to only 2 installments, leaving out a lot of the story, including the explanation of just what the heck IT is and how it got there.
Very, very brave of you to watch this. Even though you had to call Ben in for support. Loved how you set parameters about him not scaring you. Hope the nightmares were light. It's just a movie, it's just a movie! Thank you!
After surviving "The Thing" Cassie my hero takes down "IT" too?😮 thank you for the channel and inviting us with you on your cinematic journey. So much growth and evolution!🎉 Putting my early vote in for next year for "A Quiet Place" and it's sequel please!👏🏾

So October has become official "torture yourself until you go numb" month? What will she watch next year to keep "impressing" people? I don't get the point of forcing this stuff, most people (according to a study done on Americans) don't like horror and I thought Cassie is one of them. This is a proper horror movie. At least people should stop calling her "innocent and sensitive" she has seen more horror movies than me, and I'm FAR from innocent and sensitive. I'm a big ugly tattooed body builder with history of alcoholism, been into street fights, been in trouble with police many times when I was young, seen a lot of bad stuff, was in the military, was in jail, was in mental institution for violent behavior, hanged out with drug addicts (not anymore), seen a lot done a lot, and not proud of everything I did.... Now my life is better (I'm 10 years sober) but I'm FAR from "innocent and sweet". I've seen horror movies, I dislike the genre, but by now Cassie has seen MORE than me. Can we honestly stop with the "innocent and sweet" BS she is acting by now... All her "getting shocked" by regular non-horror movies is just an act by now! It used to be charm of this channel but it's GONE.
Can't believe you made it through this one. It is a legit scary movie. I actually think part 2 is less scary, overall - but it's necessary to complete the story.
"Why don't they just tell an adult?" Adore this young lady. For the most part, they didn't care or didn't have the time. There's a reason we Gen Xer's are called 'latchkey kids' and parents needed a reminder on the TV at 10PM 'Do you know where your children are?'
I'm shocked you're watching this. This one is way beyond your usual Halloween fare. I'm actually proud of you for nutting up like this. It's a bold move, and I like it.
We moved around when I was young. I was in six different schools. As "The New Kid", I had to fight six different bullies. I am 4 and 2 with them. However; because I fought, and did some damage to them, even in the two fights I lost, they didn't bother me again.
Wow! You did it! Congrats. Since you've come this far, you should finish it by watching Chapter 2. It's not a sequel. It's the continuation of this story. I know you can do it. Thanks for being brave, Cassie. Happy Halloween! 🎃
God bless you Cassie for watching this. This is a real horror movie. Also yes there really are bullies like that. EDIT: Oh god please do Chapter 2. It really ties it off well.
Yeah, and the story can never be completed without this another half. After all, the original book is about our heroes facing evil in two different eras.
You, my dear, sweet sister have earned my highest level of respect! Good on ya..... mad respect for you! Such a great movie and a great one to end the moth on! Congrats to you and how far you've come in a short period of time! You, my popcorn queen have now passed to the next level. Well Done! 👏👏👏👏👏 EDIT - I am praying that part II is included in this reaction. I think it works so much better with a follow-up of Chapter 2, but I'll understand if Cass didn't want to opt for that way of splitting it (personal fingers crossed that she didn't though). Here we go, buckle up! Let me say that I am so proud of Our little Popcorn In Bed Team. They have all done great!!!
Now you GOTTA watch the sequel. I’m very proud of you for making it through this film. It’s a FANTASTIC movie, but it is pretty brutal. The sequel isn’t as gory, and it’s an EXCELLENT wrap-up of the story.
@@Ryan-vc3dv .. Again, it's all one single story. The difference is it's more interesting to watch kids fight Pennywise than adults. It was the same thing with the 1990 miniseries. The book actually told both stories at the same time! It would bounce back and forth between 1958 and 1985!
This was probably the best reaction to this film I've seen 😂I was both laughing and feeling bad for you at the same time. I still really hope you eventually also watch the second film because it's more like a second part of one story instead of just being a sequel.
I really don't think there's anything to apologize for with regards to getting terrified at movies like these. They are made to be scary after all. The fact that you got so scared would probably bring great joy to the people who made it :) Really impressive that you gave this a shot, let alone made it through the movie. Well done, Cassie :)
When I watch a scary movie I try to reframe it in my mind as "wow, that actor/actress is doing a great job of being scary" or "they did a great job with the cgi"... it helps me get through the scary parts and enjoy the movies more, hope it helps you too!
Very impressed and proud that you watched this one! Hope you check out Chapter 2 since it's kind of a package deal, but either way, this was a great reaction. You crack me up! Happy Halloween 👻
Yes, this. It will bring closure, and really, it is one story. The book is stuff from this movie and the next interspersed. I know you know, but want her to know.
Even though I loved Tim Curry's performance of Pennywise in the original IT series, I personally love the remake much more than the original! The original part 1 wasn't too bad but part 2 was painful to get through!
Spoiler for Cassie. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I thought part 2 had a lot to make it enjoyable. The only really bad part was, regrettably, the end (ironic considering Bill).
I think we all know the saddest part wasn't even Georgie's death, it was the fact that his last word was "Billy". I'm betting Bill was his hero. This is why I love my little brother as much as I do. 😭
So proud of you! And as terrifying as this may have been for you, I swear on all things good that the sequel is worth finishing! You'll actually be glad you finished it, truly.
You made it through Cassie! After following your channel for sometime you have definitely gotten much better with these “scary but not too scary films” unfortunately there is a part 2 so I hope you check that one out as well
I watched this movie with my wife a couple years ago, and she's also not particularly into horror movies (I have a great pic of her hiding under a blanket with just her eyes out watching this film during the middle of the day). She was also a brave soul like you, Cassie - and was also suitably (mildly) traumatized by the experience.
Bless you. Its crazy to me as I'm obsessed with horror but watching how much you cared makes the videos well worth watching. I hope you can watch chapter 2 soon ❤️
Second movie is essential. Also the book is still the best. In fact, the characters are so well written that if I don't reread it every couple of years I start to really miss them. And the scariest parts are often the funniest too. In the 1990 mini series the casting was truer to the book. Having Seth Green and Harry Anderson ( Night Court ) play young and adult Richie was perfect. In these movies Richie is portrayed as a wise cracking motor mouth. As a kid and an adult. In the book Richie's real problems come from how fast his brain runs compared to everyone else around him, coupled with an impulse control button that's a bit faulty. Stephen King understands it well. Not only is he gifted, his brother is a gifted academic. Both Seth and Harry have the kind of intelligence that let them play the role flawlessly. It's all sub rosa. Don't get me wrong Bill Hadder is a great actor and so is the kid who plays young Richie. But Richie, Ben and Eddie have special altitudes in different kinds of knowledge, as do the other Losers. Bill is a natural leader and knows to trust the other kids. But Ritchie often pulls their bacon out of the fire. 🤡🎃🧠😎
Having read the book (twice) and watched the made for TV two part special at least five or more times, I really hated this adaptation. The whole point of the Derry disease, and each of their personalities is lost in favor of jump scares and gross effects. Also, Georgie is dead, and that's a huge motivation for Bill. Having the TV say kill him to Henry Bowers was so lame compared to the book and TV version. This felt like any generic horror movie. Loud freaky music, jump scares and CGI, the whole heart of the story was out of it.
Never thought Cassie would watch something like this! I only wish Carly was here to see it too; their slo-mo rewinds after they get jump-scared crack me up!
If I had not been familiar with this story prior to this version, I would've had a very similar reaction. Cassie did very well, all things considered. Next year, pt.2.

I'm 39 years old. I've been watching horror movies since I was 12 years old (behind my parents back that was). I started with Nightmare on Elm Street, Poltergeist, Halloween, Exorcist. By my early 20s I was completely desensitised. There have been only 3 movies that managed to scare the poop out of me ever since then. The Ring, Insidious and IT (2017 & 2019). How you as a non-horror fan, managed to watched IT all by yourself? No idea...
It'd be neat to hear your opinion on Hereditary. A lot of people who I've heard say they were desensitized cited Hereditary as one of the movies in recent memory to make them scared
Iv watched The Ring every year since it came out and still to this day I have to watch it during the day cannot watch it at night it's the only film that scares the hell out of me every time even though I know exactly what is gonna happen but I still love it
@@Etherwinter Hereditary didn't scare me as much as I hoped. I enjoyed the movie though, especially the ending plot twist was great. It had an overall great story scary story. When a movie manages that I get constant sweaty hands and heart racing throughout the movie, as well as after the movie ends, having an uneasy feeling on your mind, and possibly thinking about it while falling asleep, that is when I realize a movie had successfully scared me. I also noticed that the state of mind I am in, prior to watching a movie plays a big roll. If I am more relaxed and able to pay attention and watch a horror movie with an appropriate ambient surrounding (dark, quiet, no one else talking), so that I can immerse myself, a horror movie gets to me much more. If am I hyped and my brain is on fire, thinking about a million things and keeps wandering during a movie, I know I am not in the right mood and it can kill the experience for me. That is why I sometimes turn off a horror movie if during the first 15min I realize my brain is wandering. Also, if I watch a horror movie where people keep talking about unrelated things or check their phones every 2min... that's a big no no for me.
I was a kid in the seventies and eighties. We didn't tell adults anything. In the suburbs it was a free-for-all. Sometimes scary but a great time to be alive.
I can tell u that when i read this book when it came out, it felt terrifying in parts & when i saw this remake, i had the same feelings at these scenes brought to life. Great reaction
Did you notice that ever time Pennywise is about to attack, it's eyes turn from blue to yellow? 24:13 "It's like she's been forgotten." That's exactly what's happening. I read the book about 25 years ago and if I remember correctly, when Pennywise is awake, it casts some kind of spell on the adults so they can't see, hear, or comprehend what's truly happening.
I really hope you manage to watch Chapter 2. I will say it helps to remember that the story is effectively that if you face your fears, then you can overcome them, and they'll have no power any more. There's also the way that Pennywise effectively infects the entire town, that's why so many of the adults were terrible people as well. If you ever rewatch this, which i doubt you'll do, but if you do, try looking at the background as there's lots of creepy stuff happening when you're supposed to be looking somewhere else.
Cassie, seriously, you were so brave to watch this one!!! Congrats! Although I could literally feel your terror, I am soooooo proud of you! Frankly, watching your defense mechanisms kick in was pretty inspiring and awesome.
I wanted to watch this film in cinema, and in preparation for it I watch the 1990 version, but still watched my knees half of the film (but then I went 2 more times), so you're really brave! Also, in 2017 I read the book, and besides almost throwing it in a wall one time (the scene in a tower), it was the most heart breaking thing I ever read, I had to go on a 4 hours walk while crying on the inside the whole time, and I don't have it in me to reread, because the book is just pure grief.
Cassie! Awesome idea! Introduce Ben to the channel and have him watch all the scary movies with you! You've come a long way in your movie journey. Excited to see you keep progressing and moving into uncharted territory.

I was bullied at primary school in the 90s. I was shy and more intellectual than most people of my age which made me an easy target. I was also about a year younger than my collegues. They weren't as physically cruel, but I was constantly psychologically harrassed. It broke my self-confidence to the point I only started rebuilding it slowly in my twenties and it still leaves a lot to be desired. Neither the teachers or the direction cared about me despite my parents stuborn attempts to force them into acting against the bullies. Fortunately, I became friend with the "cool guys" at secondary school and they crushed any attempt at bullying me, so that was the end of it. I relate very strongly with what those kids suffer in that movie. The thing with bullies is that for all their attitude, they're cowards. They only prey on those who don't defend themselves. If you fight back, they flee and they only understand violence. That's something that I learned the hard way. Unfortunately, the adults in charge will punish those who defend themselves and protect the agressors. Because somehow, psychological violence doesn't matter because it leaves no trace, but if you defend yourself physically, you're the bad one. School autorities don't seem to care about it and it will continue that way until they start caring.
14:25 - "Why don't they just tell an adult?" In the King's story, adults seem to be affected by Pennywise's miasmic power in part by becoming selectively 'blind' to the danger. This was already hinted at in the belly cutting scene where the two adults in the car drove past the teen thugs and both adults saw the scene, but did nothing. Also in the library when the balloon floats by in the research room as well as the faint music, only Ben seems to notice, though there are clearly several adults in the background who should be able to see and hear everything he can.

When it comes to adults, fears tend to be more complicated, such as the fear of losing a job, fear of one's health declining, etc. But adults (at least in the book) can and do see IT, it's just that IT"S reality is so disturbing that they basically choose to ignore IT's existence.
Wowzas! 😱 This was a FULL ON reaction! It's why we all keep coming back, the complete commitment! 🤩
I’m so proud of you for going WAY outside of your comfort zone with this one. After reading the book way back when, and watching the tv miniseries back in the 90s, I was very pleased with this adaptation.

Bill Skarsgaard did such a good job as Pennywise. With this, his performance in John Wick 4 and others shows he is such a versatile performer.
you should watch the series Castle Rock! its another Stephen King/Skarsgard mashup. a bit confusing at times, but well worth it for bill's performance.
Skarsgård
You Should See Bill Skarsgard On Atomic Blonde Too From Charlize Theron And James McAvoy Too
Stephen King is a master of writing characters and psychological horror. This adaptation is fantastic. The kids are 10/10 and chapter 2 is a must-watch. Can’t wait for next Halloween(?). I hope, we don’t have to wait 27 years for IT to return to the channel. Thanks for watching and sharing this movie with us, Cassie.
No..Stephen King is a mediocre writer
I actually think Cassie should do Haunting of Hill House (the series) next spooky season. While somewhat scary, it has that This Is Us kind of emotional drama that she would probably enjoy. In any event, still looking forward to whatever she does. This was great!
And Bly Manor
Haunting of Hill house was so much more tame compared to IT and still faaaaar scarier. I absolutely loved that show and it would be perfect for this channel.
She should do Hereditary
Honestly she should do all 3 of Mike Flanagan's big Netflix series.
And midnight mass
I want to congratulate you Cassie on making it through the movie but I especially want to thank whoever edits these videos who clearly takes a perverse pleasure in watching you jump and make it slo-mo for us. The best to you, Carly, the family and the folks in the comments.
Pretty sure it's her husband lol.
@@bdkj3e Really? ohhh that's perfect! I like him already.
Thank you!
Love how her husband still decides to joke with her.
After surviving "The Thing" Cassie my hero takes down "IT" too?😮 thank you for the channel and inviting us with you on your cinematic journey. So much growth and evolution!🎉 Putting my early vote in for next year for "A Quiet Place" and it's sequel please!👏🏾

I’m super super impressed that you watched this. This movie is so far beyond your comfort zone! Kudos to you! Well done, girl!❤❤❤
Agreed. Well said. Good job pulling through Cassie!
Can't believe you made it through this one. It is a legit scary movie. I actually think part 2 is less scary, overall - but it's necessary to complete the story.
I remember this in theaters on opening night crazy
Also the werewolf claws is a reference to the books where it appears as a werewolf to Eddie.
"Why don't they just tell an adult?" Adore this young lady.
For the most part, they didn't care or didn't have the time. There's a reason we Gen Xer's are called 'latchkey kids' and parents needed a reminder on the TV at 10PM 'Do you know where your children are?'
I saw this movie at a mostly black movie theatre in Atlanta. The reactions to the opening scene of the clown in the gutter were HYSTERICAL 😂
I'm shocked you're watching this. This one is way beyond your usual Halloween fare. I'm actually proud of you for nutting up like this. It's a bold move, and I like it.
Happy Halloween, Cassie! Child actors can be hit or miss, but all of these actors were fantastic, and really held their own.
Sophia Lillis has been great in everything I've seen her in, but Jack Grazer (Eddie) is just fantastic. "They're gazebos!" 🤣🤣🤣
It's more explained in the book. Derry is cursed. IT is a cosmic entity that takes the form of things that cause fear because IT feeds on it.
That is literally probably a horror to her by itself. Knowing it’s not over
"...Chapter 2. It's not a sequel. It's the continuation of this story" ??? 🤣
I know I saw 2, and it's 27 years, etc. But for the life of me I can't remember part 2 in full. I need to see the 2nd again.
Why would anyone want to subject her to the boring pile of crap that was IT Chapter 2?
so… a sequel? lmao
God bless you Cassie for watching this. This is a real horror movie. Also yes there really are bullies like that. EDIT: Oh god please do Chapter 2. It really ties it off well.
agreed - Chapter 2 really brings it home.
lmfao this is not a real horror movie. Shit is cheese af. Stephen King makes shit horror
Without the turtle.
Yeah, and the story can never be completed without this another half. After all, the original book is about our heroes facing evil in two different eras.
I feel like she might even have a better time watching it, since it focuses more on adults.
26:19 Literally waited years for Cassie's reaction. Was not disappointed 😂😂😂

EDIT - I am praying that part II is included in this reaction.
The librarian off in the blurred background watching Ben read the book is one of the most effective creepy shots I've seen.
I'm proud of you Cassie, way to hang tough on a really good horror movie... but there is a part 2. The story is not over. IT must be finished
She’s lucky part to isn’t as scary as part one
Now you GOTTA watch the sequel. I’m very proud of you for making it through this film. It’s a FANTASTIC movie, but it is pretty brutal. The sequel isn’t as gory, and it’s an EXCELLENT wrap-up of the story.
It's not a sequel. It's a continuation of this movie. Both parts together are one single film
Cassie do not watch IT chapter 2! It is a boring pile of uninspired crap. Chapter 1 is a horror masterpiece though
@@Ryan-vc3dv .. Again, it's all one single story. The difference is it's more interesting to watch kids fight Pennywise than adults. It was the same thing with the 1990 miniseries. The book actually told both stories at the same time! It would bounce back and forth between 1958 and 1985!
@@Ryan-vc3dv Here's a tip, why don't you let people decide for themselves?
"He looks like Kylo Ren." 😂 That cracked me up
This was probably the best reaction to this film I've seen 😂I was both laughing and feeling bad for you at the same time. I still really hope you eventually also watch the second film because it's more like a second part of one story instead of just being a sequel.
I really don't think there's anything to apologize for with regards to getting terrified at movies like these. They are made to be scary after all. The fact that you got so scared would probably bring great joy to the people who made it :)
Really impressive that you gave this a shot, let alone made it through the movie.

I wanna see Cassie in a haunted house so bad😂😂😂
Yes, this. It will bring closure, and really, it is one story. The book is stuff from this movie and the next interspersed. I know you know, but want her to know.
I'm going to disagree, just skip chapter 2 because it is such a weak movie that it kind of ruins the first one.
@ener11454 agree. This one is so good and chapter 2 just doesn't have it
Even though I loved Tim Curry's performance of Pennywise in the original IT series, I personally love the remake much more than the original! The original part 1 wasn't too bad but part 2 was painful to get through!

I love that Ben always takes it a step further and scares you even more!! 😂
He honored the 'pinky swear', but she still grabbed his hand to make sure, lol
Cassie: You cannot scare me.
TV: Make it a wonderful day, Ben. Scare her. Scare her. Scare her! Scare her! Scare her! Scare her! SCARE HER! SCARE HER!!!! SCARE THEM ALL!!! SCARE THEM ALL!!! SCARE THEM ALL!!!

Im the same, I smile and laugh...only way I can get scared now is in VR! lol
IMHO, the Ring wasn't as scary, felt the original Japanese movie was scarier.
I love the Cassie's husband's hand cameo for emotional support hahah

I can tell u that when i read this book when it came out, it felt terrifying in parts & when i saw this remake, i had the same feelings at these scenes brought to life. Great reaction
Did you notice that ever time Pennywise is about to attack, it's eyes turn from blue to yellow?
24:13 "It's like she's been forgotten." That's exactly what's happening. I read the book about 25 years ago and if I remember correctly, when Pennywise is awake, it casts some kind of spell on the adults so they can't see, hear, or comprehend what's truly happening.
Okay Cassie you can’t cheat! You have to watch chapter 2 where it’s 27 years later and they’re all adults on their late 30s and early 40s! 🙄😉

How about watching _Star Trek: First Contact_ in 2063?
Great season of Horror. Thanks for making this very difficult October tolerable for me. I truly appreciate it. I lost my Grandma this month and it has been so hard. So thank you for making things better with your reactions. Happy Halloween.
