    I’m at 7:50 and wondering, if colouring without selection tools is a problem, or tedious, why not do all that part in Procreate 1st, and import each rig segment after?

    • @davidpikedesigns
      @davidpikedesigns  8 месяцев назад +1

      I really wanted to see if I could do everything at least somewhat competently in Dreams. Coloring ended up not being too bad. I did outline some of the shapes with the paint brush and filled them with the color swatch. It was either that or drag each layer individually into Dreams, so either option would be time-consuming. The bigger issue is the shape tools. To get the joint circles nice and smooth when they rotate, you really need a perfect circle. I might consider cleaning up those parts of the body in Procreate and dragging them into Dreams. Now I'm wondering if I can just drag one circle into Dreams and use it as a template by duplicating it. I might do a video about that. Thanks for the comment!

    This was such a great workflow breakdown! Thank you for going over hierarchy and grouping with this context and also for this app; it was really really helpful! I am SUPER excited for that next video. That sounds like it's going to be extremely useful. Especially for illustrators who have a massive library in Procreate that we didn't necessarily draw for rigging purposes and now want to try and make use for them in Dreams.

      You're welcome! I haven't seen a lot of rigging overviews for Dreams, but many of the workflows from other programs can be used, which is nice. Thanks for watching!

    David Pike can you use masking per each color layer, then do a color drag and drop? I think that masking is available as a selection in the track, not up on stage.

    • @davidpikedesigns
      @davidpikedesigns  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, you could use masking; however, sometimes you may need to adjust the color layer separately from the line layer, such as if you need to add to the color layer to cover up something in another part of the animation. If the line layer is creating the mask for the color layer, but the color layer needs to extend beyond the area of the line layer, you could run into some issues. Hope that helps! Thank you David for the great instructions. I’m still at the point of disliking any drawing in Procreate Dreams. Your circle looked pretty dang good. If I could get a circle to look that good I would give myself a standing ovation. By the way, you would look great with a goatee. My husband has one and I love it.

      FYI you can adjust the stabilisation of your brushes that you import into Dreams which would go a long way to helping your shapes in Dreams. I'm with you though, I prefer to draw in the regular Procreate app and then move into Dreams. Procreate is just a better UX for my style of illustration.

    • @doodlingdebbie1
      @doodlingdebbie1 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@Goforbrookie I have adjusted the stability but, my circles are still wonky. Procreate has done gone and spoiled me….lol.Like you, I draw in Procreate then bring it into Dreams. It would also be nice to have the selection tool. I’ve turned into a drawing brat….lol.

      @@doodlingdebbie1 Yeah I hear you for sure! It's actually more than just the stabilisation settings in the interface but also any brushes you may import over. That has helped me keep an even smoother hand. I also keep a png shapes library in my phone full that I can just add as an image and distort as needed. I'm going to keep sticking to drawing primarily in procreate like you and don't envision that changing until the Dreams app can fully mimic Procreate but figured I'd let you know in case it's helpful! I often get into an animation and may get a tiny lazy and want to just give up and make the minor tweak in dreams. Happy drawing fellow creator!

    Ideally, I would want Savage to add the Dreams sizes as templates in Procreate. It would also help if those templates were designed to honor the space for stage and backstage.

    How can you rig walking , where the leg will move along with the thigh exampe ejen youre jogging

    • @davidpikedesigns
      @davidpikedesigns  2 месяца назад

      You can parent the layer with the lower part of the leg to the layer with the upper part of the leg so that it follows along when the upper leg is moved. Hope that helps!
