No nonsense, clearly explained teaching, Insightful, and effective. The Holy grail of fight mechanics
Been following Lee for years , even when he's stood talking and relaxed he looks like he's about to take someone's head off their shoulders 😂😂👊🏽
Best combat channel out there. From Ireland 🇮🇪
"It's *all* bad."
Not enough combat trainers out there teaching people that fighting *is to be avoided* even (and especially) when you know how to handle yourself. Good stuff.
There's not enough trainers showing how to properly beat the shit out of someone who seriously needs it .
@@QuantumPyrite_88.9 beat them and leave before the cops show.
@@ironwolfgaming9632 I have more than once .
@@QuantumPyrite_88.9 same - taught someone brass knuckles only work if they get to punch you :)
@@QuantumPyrite_88.9 If someone's a grown man and can't already do that, there's no point in looking for someone to teach them now. They should just keep quiet and call the cops when things go bad. Not even kidding.
Not sure if it has been mentioned already but another benefit of grabbing them after the first shot is that if u have sparked them, they won’t smash their head off the pavement and get their revenge on u from the afterlife. So many idiots have started fights, got knocked out and killed from secondary impact with the floor leading to innocent people being portrayed as monsters and jailed for defending themselves.
That's exactly what I was thinking.
I'm sure you can give 1 example (That wasn't Agatha Christie) If so many people have been killed, and innocently imprisoned for their murder (Despite Forensics being able to make that determination) I'm sure you can provide 1 example.

For that reason body shots are very good. No risk from brain damage, no serious injuries, just the pain you need to escape
"Hit him when he twitches" ... combat in one statement!! Pure class ... other two would be difficult to achieve but #3 definitely is ..
100% real. Lee is a true legend. He’s been such a fantastic help during lockdown. Can’t thank him enough.
Agreed 💥💯
@Democrats Are The Modern Day Nazi Party No fighting experience ... really ?
@Democrats Are The Modern Day Nazi Party Expand on your reply ... Cupcake wannabe .
I used to read the book of five rings over and over as a young guy trying to make sense of Musashis teachings. Its not the most straightforward book but there's a lot of visdom passed on from a man who dedicated his life to understanding the art of winning the fight. Now I just have to dust it off and reread it. Subscribed.
Thats awesome truth. I've seen it hundreds of times as a Sheriff's deputy, fight or flight gets worked up and bam they explode unless you are preemptive. Keep up the great work, thanks and God bless
I've been on such a mad journey with martial arts/Krav and Miyamoto Musashi. It's just too much to really write. But the fact it's being covered on here is another crazy thing. I read the 21 rules of life every day to remind me to stay on my path and believe in the process!
Lee is great. I love the quote, “A one sided beating is what works. That’s why we’re using it.”
First trained with Lee in Coventry in about 2004. Learnt a lot then and am still learning
Finally a guy that knows what he's talking about. Well done to you Sir.
Much the same as the Japanese principle of Sen = Before. The 3 preemptive attack initiatives.
Sen, Sen no Sen ( Before the before) Act as soon as you sense a threat,
Sen no sen (Before) Act if the opponent motions to attach
Go no sen (After the before) Avoid oncoming attack & counter. Body movement & striking is as one.
I’ve been a Krav Maga practitioner for 18 years, can’t Thankyou and your team enough Lee, great stuff.
is sparring common in krav maga training?
@@pabskingofswing7540 depends on the school. We do a lot of fight drills.
I was given a lesson very similar to this about combat, street fighting and pre-emptive striking when I was ten years old by my uncle who fought in Vietnam and was part of MACV-SOG operations. He would continue to live in southeast Asia for many years studying fighting styles to be used and adapted to combat applications. I could rarely see his hands or attacks coming. This video was very informative regarding the realities of this topic.
The hands up is absolutely on point. It's universally known and would be a critical point should you get into trouble with the police over any incident. Quite the opposite to a traditional guarding stance which comes across as aggressive and confrontational even in defence. Good video
Great insights. It's uncommon to see modern practical interpretations of Mushashi's work, especially for empty hand fighting. I would also like to give props to the guy with the pads for being a good uke(training dummy) he'd make a good stuntman. His reactions to the strikes looked so real it made me think he studied at the Lebron James school of flopping😁
As i was taught...hit first, hit fast, hit hard!
This Gold! Articulate, and captivating competent instructor.
He is incredible!!! He knows his stuff!!! Thank you Lee!!!
This explanation is based on true experience in street fight, Lee is a real deal, he has tasted the ugly truth in street conflicts, we are lucky he shares it!
Born like a killing machine... talent has been given
If your blocking ,then ur losing , love this. great stuff as per usual, Lots of love from the Gary Spiers clan ,
Brilliant as usual from Lee
Simple man here.
I see Musashi, I click, I subscribe and I pay attention.
love watching your teachings......cheers from germany
"I'm going to beat him, then I'm going to leave." That's not only great self-defense advice, it's great legal advice. As an attorney I can tell you, you don't want to be around when the cops show up or linger long enough for someone to be able to give them a good description of you. Better to not get arrested than to have to pay me several thousand dollars to defend you in court.
Lee's a living legend. So much admiration for his efforts & methods of teaching. Much respect to Mr. Morrison.
Lee is always the real Deal.... He walked the Walk and when he talkes the Talk, you better open your Ears... ;-) Always great Content! Stay safe and Cheers!
Love his videos, realistic and effective.
Thank you for sharing Sifu.
Excellent teach and quick hands!
Maximum respect! This is so true!
An extremely well articulated demo and bang on the money!!
Fantastic video Lee! Thanks for the great insight into preemptive striking.
About legal consecuenses. I use my other hand straight in front and say dont touch me I feel unsafe. So, if one breaks that distance I have better changes with cops to stay out of prison.
Hello from Finland
Brilliant! Salute from NY, US. Just subscribed.
When I trained to plate breaking stage in Wing Chun many many years ago now, speed, accuracy and weight distribution were key. After watching this video, I have to say the speed and accuracy of your left in demonstration is... 'Extraordinary'...I take a step back, and bow to you in respect.
This instructor is genius! I love the psychological aspects he makes everyone aware of i mean ive been in so many bar fights street fights in my younger days and looking back on it noone grabs the other everyone seems to hit and wait like their in a mma ring or boxing match and hes right that is very dumb and could eventually get ya killed... this man is amazing his insight is amazing! Well done brother!
All you guys look good 👍 in fitness in this video and MUSASHI , I have all his books!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!
Worldclass! Really very very good video! Thank you.
This was excellent!
Palm strike to the face, chin all day. A straight projection is almost impossible to block.
One of my teachers just expressed the palm strike in our last class :) great video!
100% thats why distance is so important you should never get that close to an aggressor so he has to move forward to strike leaving him vulnerable.
@Sam Luckily only in training. I have been struck with it wearing a full redman suit many times and it shakes the brain, and as i said, I couldn't block it.
Knife hand to the carotid is a knock out . Throat punch is a fight ender and a potential kill shot . Eye strike is a definite fight ender .
@@Domn879If you're dismissing these techniques it's because you're thinking this video is about two people squaring off. It's not. It's a surprise attack that the other person isn't expecting.
You've never watched a UFC fight stopped for an eye-poke? Train to punch the throat and get the potential KO if the chin gets caught. ALL military combative programs teach a carotid strike because it works.
Brilliant explanation - very articulate and able to explain the logic behind the method. He's the man you want beside you when it's about to happen...
100% true! Great insights, and as always great effective strategies for the street! Love your videos Mr. Morrison!
One of the best explanations I've heard about when to strike first, legally.
Nice to see Musashi referenced.
Exceptional technique. Beautiful movements.
Boy this is true. I will always try n leave. But I will fight if need be & I will be the wild animal also. This is what they teach & it’ll work. These guys are better trained than me. ✌️
Brilliant real life instruction
Super helpful info. Especially for us ladies. Thank you, Lee!
Great video!👍👌👊
Thank's lee,regards from germany!
True no nosense no messing around.
Job done.
Very practical applications of handling yourself on the street. I trained under Jim Harrison's school of Bushidokan. My instructor Steve Mackey always preached being preemptive in those moments. Some folks may not think that is self-defense, but guess who is the one walking away.
Red-headed step-child here, had a dozen street fights, was jumped, cracked ribs, faced stitched up, etc. Then I started training at age of 25. By 29 I was fucking formidable. I am now in my 50s and can honestly say I have not yet had to use my skills outside of a Dojo, Gwoon, or Tournament. However, I have had several occasions where if I did not have those skills, I would have been a victim again. Mr. Morrison is very correct, listen to him, develop your Inner Reacher!
Palm strike on the face, yeah it's so true because bare knuckle punch on the head can bust your knuckle and you can no longer fight for a period of time. Palm strike is safer and you can still fight after that.
OSU AND THANK YOU,
FOR THE REAL REALITY OF HIT FIRST
AND KEEP ATTACKING UNTIL THE BAD GUY CAN'T GET UP.
EVER AGAIN.
THAT'S CALLED GIVING NO QUARTER.
real good advice im ex doorman 31 years in brum,, ive watched so many fakes on here, this is real deal
Brilliant content Lee. Thank you very much 🙏
Exactly on point! Amazing knowledge! Simple and effective! Respect!
Excellent 👌👌👌
All things I had learned and executed upon others long before I got to High School. But good stuff if you’ve never been a fighter.
Excellent information.
This is wing chun principles, very good stuff.
Would enjoy these classes.
Most attacks I've seen, either violent crimes they have weapons out already to intimidate victim.
Yup... if not and they're small , they gotta concealed shank
Not that usual with serious people, they know how to use blades and such. But might be cultural thing too and differences
Fantastic instruction.
Great video. I have always believed in hitting hard, hitting fast and getting away as fast as possible. The risks are too great in a street or bar brawl. Getting suckered or jumped, getting hit with an object or even worse, stabbed or shot to death.
Great video. Great advice. Would love to be able to attend Lee's classes.
Absolutely brilliant. Spot on. Thank you
Thanks for the tip on the open hands. I had a couple of individuals Try to provoke me into striking first because they knew there was cameras present These people were so not fighters. If the camera was not there they would not tried to provoke me. Like that Baby Huey got himself shot provoking that delivery guy. RUclips it. And as Musashi said " Do nothing that is not of use."
At last, someone talking sense about about self defense.
Layer upon layer of information
Well done video.Experience and knowledge expressed in edible tidbits. Great video.
Stay happy healthy and fluid
the art of real street fighter, defense personal
"If you could've left, you should've." I find that immensely helpful. These teachings are high-level in every way.
My goodness. Brilliant.
Incredibly real information
I live in a ridiculously violent town given how few people live here (roughly 150K) but the law is a complete arse when it comes to assault. There is some bizarre 1950s attitude that the better man always walks away. Even the cops seem to wait for an aggressive punter to lay into them before they all pile on - its weird after growing up in Sydney and seeing Police routinely lay into people for giving them attitude (granted, they weren't surrounded by people with cameras in hand back then). Thanks for the video.
this is also what Geoff Thompson stressed too - 3 preemptive strikes - Musashi FTW!!!
Spot on exactly what i have taught people.
Great video , thanks
Nice job. I didn’t know Andy Serkis was a fight trainer.
Solid advice
Spot on, however, i would say a lot of people in this environment.......you dont get to look a certain way by walking away ( the best option ) theres a great deal of people that always say you should always avoid confrontation but judging by their scars, ears and bent nose they clearly do not do that and are just a bomb waiting for someone to start on them, there's a huge difference between someone who knows how to handle themselves and someone who is just praying for a fight.
"If you could've left, you should've left."
Yep. No point in taking the unnecessary risk.
I have done boxing and mma for 25 years and i win most of my fights by about 100 metres, LOL. You are so right, i have no interest in fighting on the street even if the guy is a dweeb. I only had one fight where running was not an option as there was two of them and they blocked my car in and attacked me so now i have 2 assault charges ( 1 more and i will go to jail ) for defending my self. It's always a lose lose situation
It's a male ego thing. Once you get over that you realise the master of any combative situation is the person that percieves it and avoids it without having to take any offensive action. Far too many keyboard warriors think that as long as they use techneque A, B and C, everything will work out fine. It won't on many occasions.
@@jamesallen6309 Truth. Unless you ABSOLUTELY are required to fight, you don't. Doesn't make you a coward or less of a man. It makes you wise in a manner that even King Solomon would have approved of.
This was one of the best material art self defense/attack videos I’ve ever seen.
Loved the philosophy and the very very important thing he said about not lose your contact and not stop attacking until you are safe.
Excellent
So totally refreshing to see this on RUclips amidst the one touch knockouts and chi masters, Morrison is one who says the truth- HIT THE SON OF A BITCH!
Fighting is basically physics with rhythm. It involves force vectors, angles of attack, and so many other variables. He is not wasting time on pseudo-spiritual bs. No fancy uniforms or rituals passing as talent.
I like Geoff Thompson a lot also. I don't teach anymore but I developed the "6 to 10 hour training model." People have busy lives- wife, kids, job, school. How many can get to a gym even 20 hours a week? It is about impossible as an adult. But if you can train say 6 to 10 hours a week you can develop some decent street kills. And you have to keep it simple- some decent strikes, some groundwork and weapons. Better to be good at a few things than crappy at a lot. You will never be Conor McGregor or even close, but you may be more than good enough for a street thug or just be able to get away. Running is not discussed nearly enough in martial arts programs.
Be mean but be first. Excellent instruction as per usual.
I have followed this man ever since his first DVD came out - he is as legit as it gets. I highly recommend his work....it will be money actually well spent.
You've got some big hard boys training with you Sir! always a great sign of a hardcore capable teacher.
Also just for lols how is it that you resemble Mel Gibson more and more as you age hahaha! anyway ty for an excellent upload -may you be well always.
Brilliant tutorial.!
brilliant stuff thanks for making this!
good advice
Good stuff!
Still the best.
mick coup may disagree lol
Good musashi was right good lesson
I really like this although this will not work in some countries like Russia for example as there is no pre fight chat ,but in general this guy is brilliant 👍
O efeito surpresa é fundamental!
Thank you
Great stuff again!! Too many fake ass instructors out there, but this guy is the real deal.
Holy fk this Guy is a legit weapon!
He read the fucking book alright enough.Clearly he has applied it.
"Street Violence is Asymmetrical"!!! - Well said, not like the ring, it's one-sided, advantage placement.
