This was so helpful, I'm 20 trying to go through the process of buying my grandma's car (who has dimentia and can obviously not use it). Gave me some good clarity and direction! Especially about the Bill of Sales and notification of transfer
@@weldingandstuff hello, I bought a vehicle with a duplicate title! I don’t know that until I went to the MDV, now I called the previous owner he don’t know where is the second title! What I can do. Need help please.
At part 2:30. Another term for “curbstoning” is “title jumping”. It is illegal in Texas, but isn’t really enforced (not justifying the action). I would avoid title jumping as it can open the door to future problems; none good for you, the seller.
How did you handle the eztag situation when you don't know who the buyer is? We sold a car to someone, a few years ago and are just now receiving emails saying that we owe eztag but we lost the info of the seller
Any way I could get into contact with you? In the processing of buying a used car from a private party and have a question about the title Car is absolutely fine, but the title is not in the name of the person attempting to sell to me. He showed me a title with the last owners name 2/3 Which claimed that the title was transferred on 11/14/22 (it is 8/13/23). I don't believe he is trying to do it in malice I think he is trying 3/3 skip out on the sales tax fee. But I'm wondering how this would fly at my local DMV and if the title transfer process would be smooth. 4/4 Form 130-U and the signed vehicle title is required. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Nice video. I have to sell my car on Monday here at Austin, TX. I have lost the title, will I be able to get another on Monday going to a DMV building?
I have a question, if im selling my truck and the dealer gave me the title just like yours with them as the owner do i sign right under in the front where there name is or is tht the dealers signature? Cause mine is empty there?
My dad gifted me an older car from Indiana, I live in Texas. I haven’t gotten the vehicle registered in TX and it still has Indiana plates. I have purchased a new car as the older car doesn’t work for me, and have a buyer wanting to take the car off my hands. Can I transfer the title to the new buyer even though I haven’t completed the title transfer/registered the vehicle?
I couldn’t register it due to it needing expensive repairs to pass the emissions test. The interested buyer is more knowledgeable about fixing cars and will be able to get it fixed to then pass the test and be registered inTX. I am unsure though if I have to first register the car and then sell it? Or would it just be another title transfer and then the new owner is responsible for registering the vehicle?

Very easy to follow along and helpful.
Thank you, we moved from Illinois, which has an easy process through any corner currency exchange. We want to make sure we don’t have any issues.
Thank you so much for this breakdown. It has helped a lot! Great work!
Thank you so much for sharing. A lot of legal stuff that I was unsure about but you made it clear

Thank you for making this video for us 👍🏼
Do any of these forms need to be notarized, or is just signed by both private parties?
I’m in Texas and it’s really common to see a lot of people selling cars with titles that are not registered to them! I’m like no thanks

If it’s a certified copy can you still change ownership of title .?
Super helpful. Thank you thank you!! I’m making a sale tomorrow and didn’t want to leave anything out.
This video was very informative & helpful. Well done, sir. Thank you.
If I’m buying a car from a private seller.. would I be able to go to the DPS/ DMV with the private seller and have them transfer the title?
Very informative. Thanks.
Thank you!! I sooo appreciate this information!
You are so welcome!

I think you can do the transfer and the new owner will take care of the registration
can i sell my texas registered car in Maryland?
Yes; in Maryland you may need a notary. I just sold my Texas car to someone in Louisiana and they had to get it notarized
