- Hello my dragonfly friends,
Today I am giving resin blooms another go. I did check the temperature of the resin this time, I waited till it was at 38 degrees Celsius. I used Lets Resin alcohol inks. I think these inks work so much better. I used The Epoxy Resin Store 7000 resin, it’s a 1:1 ratio thick resin.
I am as thrilled to see how they turned out. I am definitely learning. I hope you enjoyed this video. Please tell me which one is your favorite.
Thank you for going on this journey with me.
The deadline for the drawing is MARCH 8, 2024.
So leave a comment before then if you would like to be entered, within the United State only please.

Love these❤. How do you check the temperature of the resin?
Thank you Kathy, I got a meat thermometer off of Amazon. Just make sure to clean it straight away.
Hello from distant Bulgaria! What you are doing is amazing! If you will allow me, I would like to ask something. You say you started work at 38 degrees of resin temperature instead of 41. I watched dozens of videos before yours, in a few of them the authors show that they measure the temperature, but do not explain why... Only in your video it becomes clear to me that there is an important temperature range.
My questions are: 1.Does this temperature apply to any epoxies when making pads? 2.Does it matter if thinner or thicker resin or just the temperature? 3.What is the most important thing in making a bloom?
Please answer me - you will save me many more sleepless nights watching videos, and more liters of wasted epoxy resin.
Hi there and thank you for watching. I use a 1:1 ratio resin which I believe works best for blooms. I wait for my resin to be at 38 degrees Celsius for I decant into my mold because this helps it thicken slightly. That way the white paste that I use for my blooms won’t immediately sink and make a lot of blobs. This is just the process that works best for me. You will have to play around with your resin to find out what works best. I change the temperature just slightly depending on the time of year. Colder or hotter weather will make the resin cure faster. I hope this helps you. Have a great day.
@@royalriverart Thanks a lot for the answer! So far I've tried 2:1 resin, but apparently that's not the problem. You have given me direction, for which I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Be healthy! ❤
No instruction?
Thank you for watching. I will try and talk through the process in another video. When I concentrate I don’t talk. I will work on it.
