These blooms are STUNNING! WOWWW. I have never seen such depth in resin bloom (& I have seen many hundreds)! I thought you were going to ruin the flowers when you swirled the inks so much, but no! Is it possible that on the first one you demolded (with the white blob), that the resin was not warm enough (somewhere around 40C), and it allowed the white sinker to fall too fast (instead of blooming) through the alcohol inks? That can definitely happen when the resin has not warmed enough and become thicker and more resistant to the heavier white paste. But, you probably know this better than I do! Love this beautiful set. ❤😊
THank you so much for kind words! I think you are right about the first one, it is better to wait for white to start settling. That was a successful accident - experiment! 🤗
Thanks for sharing your process, the final result is beautiful! May I ask what you are occasionally spraying on top of the resin as you are creating the coasters? Is it alcohol??
Thank you so much for replying. I was actually referring to the Alcohol inks in particular. I know that resin will discolor over a long period but some people say that the alcohol ink colours fade in a matter of weeks if not stored in a dark place. Did you find this to be true?
i used Pinata inks (links to purchase them below in the description), they are high quality inks. I made these coasters over a year ago and they are fresh and vibrant in color still. I just sold them one year since I made them and the buyer is extremely happy. So use those Pinata inks or any other high quality products. Mica powders they do become dull. :)

Or how do you avoid it? I would love to do large painting but are very scared about customers returning my product due to this fact. Would love a reply from you thanks
HI, Marietjie: thank you for your question. It is true that resin looses color with time. When I sell my products I have a disclaimer. But if I have a large painting project I would incorporate colors that will mute the discoloration. For example, less clear resin and more orange and red hues or indigo and so on. Clear resin will yellow with time. Also keep the art work away from sun, because it will expedite the discoloration. I hope this helps.
Hi: I think I explain it in the video but in case I didnt here is how: to measure how much resin you will need I pour water into the mold to fill it up then pour that amount into the cup and weight it. Then multiply that amount by number of coasters in your project. Its that easy! Never lose a drop of resin. Hope this helps. You will pipette to pour it back into the cup so you dont spill water.
