Love these flowers. They remind me of poinsettias. Even without the top coat you can tell that Teal Blue Orchid is a gorgeous color.

You are so talented. I need more than 30 minutes of resin time. Lol. More like 45 minutes. I'm slow and not very creative. I will try this technique. Beautiful piece. Stay safe.
Awe thank you so much, I know what you mean. The longer working time is better for me too. I can do more projects 😁 If your working time is 45mins maybe let the resin sit for 15- 20 minutes before you pour it into your molds.
Don't let it sit in the cup you mix it in though. It can flash cure if you do that. I pour the mixed resin into smaller wider cups before I let it sit and thicken a bit. 🤗💙

Thank you so much and thanks for watching. I'm using a medium viscosity resin. It seems to really help with the blossom effect from the angel white. Also not using too much white. It only takes a tiny bit of the angel white for this technique. 🤗💜

@@naptimecreations just the wonderful world of allergies. Anything pine scented will get me. A lot of the outdoors fresh scents have pine. Lavender scent gets me too.

My grandma has terrible allergies too. I always feel so bad for her because they say there's nothing they can do and things that do help her she can't take because she has A-FIB. 🥺

Very true! If you go slowly and gift or sell your creations it could balance out, I had supplies for a year before I actually made anything 😂 now I'm hooked I wake up with ideas and great videos to inspire me.

Lovely work! Julie Cutts from Pouring Your Heart Out gave you credit for inspiration on her last coasters video. And I have seen a lady (German or Dutch, I think) do a new technique for Making abstract flowers by dropping a few drops of alcohol ink on resin, and then making small white tinted spirals on each drop of ink. Somehow, the drawing to the middle makes lovely flower patterns on the bottom. She calls them magic flowers. Want to try!

You are going to love making these.
The working time of your resin does effect how they turn out.
If your resin has a 30 minute working time mix your resin then wait 15 minutes before you do you start pouring.
The resin I used in this video has a 20 minute working time so I just mixed and poured. But most resins have a 30-40 minute working time.
So mixing and waiting a bit to pour helps the flowers turn out more pretty.

I'm so glad you tried the liquid latex. It works so well and is much easier to use than tape is. I find taping difficult on any shape that's not a square or rectangle 😅

I am going to try your tips. I have not had luck with the flower coasters so far, I think the leaving the resin to sit for 10 mins may help, I also just bought the glass chips and some pebbles from Laura's but did not read your complete info so did not get the coupon code.

What resin are you using? Sometimes certain brands have to sit a bit longer to get the petal shape to stay put.

Can you explain easily how you resin over the top. Ex, do you let resin run over the sides then sand the rough ridge a little to soften the edges b4 adding cork?
