Still remember seeing Kiev open up for Thrice at the Yost theater in Santa Ana CA in 2014. One of the greatest live performances and passionate music experiences I've witnessed to date. So much music over the years that falls short and doesnt come close to the passion and creativity this group propels.
And given that both bands are from Orange County (Thrice/Irvine, Kiev/Orange) and played in Orange county, it must've been a special performance since it was where they grew up and originated

I bet hardly anyone that's watched this video know which mics out of all of seen in this vid are the rarest and best sounding of the bunch. See the ones that look like they've got project kit boxes around them (one in front of the singer, the other over the drummer)? Those are the famous Doug Sax/Mastering Lab transformelress tube mics that are nearly impossible to acquire, the same ones used on all those Sheffield Lab direct-to-disc albums.
