I seriously think these guys play paper scissors rock to work out who plays what instrument. Or do they lay them out and the first one you grab is the instrument you play?
Lyrics: Every day I wake, physically weaker than before In my growing mind, the dreams I've left behind, the sign that there was more Blackness it awaits, slumber hits the rain outside my window Can I get it back, what can I do to get them back inside? Into the delay, the sounds don't carry on into the graves In my growing mind, the parts I realise are all collective thoughts Blackness it awaits, slumber hits the rain outside my window Can I get it back, what can I do to get them back inside?
there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Pond are the best band on the planet right now. NOW. this is utter genius. and as great as Tame are.... they don't cook as a live band in the same way Pond do.
Yep, I'd have to go close to agreeing with you. They are just an incredible band live. The psychedelic space-funk really comes to the fore and they just get the crowd going like no one else can. Such pure musicians.
Everyday I wake physically weaker than before in my growing mind dreams have left behind a sign that there was more colourless and vague thoughts, they slip away with the daylight can I get them back? what can I do to get them back inside? I'm speechless
This is definitely a righteous tune !! They've got a new fan here, their whole performance was tight as shit. This radio station is awesome, I wish they had shit like this in Florida.
@@rhyeshedden7826 Well, maybe someday they'll decide to try again. They're too good not to have at least one live album, especially when they're in their prime. Anyway, hope you enjoy the show. Seeing them live was like a religious experience for me lol.
There is something about this song, it has all the nature on it. It's like some kind of millenarium sound that existed since the beginning of the world and they made it a song. So amazing. And if you look at the sky and the movement of the trees you'll see the song on its essence, it means movement really. oh god pond is amazing.
Yeah man I saw them live and they went off one of the best performances I have ever been to. Their was something about seeing them effortlessly recreate the songs live and adding to them with live improvs. They were all the funniest performers pretending to be rockstars then just being plan silly throwing them selves around the place cracking jokes. They jammed out so hard best stage performance and they still looked so smooth and cool. I met the curly haired guitarist nicest dude. Go see live!
Just got back from seeing these guys live. Wow! Just pure musicians that love to have fun. Their first couple of tracks were a bit sloppy but then they got it together and just went off! Amazing band.
Fuck me these guys are unbelievable. Only just started listening to them but this song is my favourite so far. Fuck and every band they've made is bloody brilliant.
I really dig these cats...they capture a 70s groove like no other and make it fresh and relevant for today. some of the new shit out there has "too many notes" to coin a phrase... not pond though...nothing over done here, nothing over cooked, just really nice, a real sense of what belongs with a splash of cognac.
J Mascis (dinosaur Jr) signature jazzmaster :) it's the same one Kevin borrows from Jay for some tame impala stuff live. Think he sticks a midi pickup on it
Thank you so much Connor! I imagined it was the same Kevin uses, but it didn't have the fake eyes in the head here. Oh, that's great information, what does a midi pickup adds?
Hah yeah I love the googly eyes, shame he took them off! Midi pickups basically take each string as a separate signal, and convert them to midi data. You can then run that into all-sorts - I believe Kevin has a Roland GR-55 guitar synth and some custom presets he uses to get the strange synthy sounds you hear all over Tame Impala's stuff - think the intro soloey bits to "Why dont you make up your mind" and "Alter Ego", that kind of stuff I think was done using these. Think the pickup itself that he uses is a Roland GK 3, although I could be wrong. Looks like a little black box on the lower strap button and a thin black bit of plastic between the bridge and the bridge pickup. Doesnt look like he has it on here though! Hope that helps :)
yeah I really want to see them live, it seems like it would be a beast show. And you met that guitarist? I hate you ahaha. When they come to DC I will definitely check that out
the singer has a crazy charisma
I still listen to this everyday. Best love performance of any song ever recorded. The ending is absolutely transcending
Fantastic explosion of MY OVARIES
Proper music, played by proper musicians. So much energy in this performance
i watch this like. everyday
Nadia Rahman 16 times in the last 24 hours for me. Bout to see them live in another 24.
seeing them on Sunday for 'The Weather' set.
They have a killer set! Don't miss their opener, he's got one of the craziest shows I've seen all year and I've seen a lot
I go back to this every month since I watched it probably 5 years ago. I always queue it up when I chill with friends
Me too mate dont worry the drum beat makes it
One of The Greatest Bands of our Time❤️🎵
I seriously think these guys play paper scissors rock to work out who plays what instrument. Or do they lay them out and the first one you grab is the instrument you play?
Called musicianship.
Its refreshing, right? =] Fucking love 'em
What a multi-layered cake of sound. Each layer different but equally is delicious
how i see this
2:30 nice pause
3:07 1..2..3..4..
4:54 nice pause again ( and lets trip)
5:20 nice bass line
5:42 guitar + tremolo =

salo7227 They only have one song. It's this one.
what do you mean? they have a lot of great songs.
Istvan H Name three as good as this one
Phil Tes does it matter to you if you have a different taste? But fine, there are three of them: Frond, The Weather, Medicine Hat.
i've listened to many songs but this is one of my favourite ever
Everyday I wake physically weaker than before in my growing mind dreams have left behind a sign that there was more colourless and vague thoughts, they slip away with the daylight can I get them back? what can I do to get them back inside?
I'm speechless
Cam is a beast as drummer
This is definitely a righteous tune !! They've got a new fan here, their whole performance was tight as shit.
This radio station is awesome, I wish they had shit like this in Florida.
This just blew my mind.
Waou! I just discovered this band this morning.
The day starts well!
just wow.....never stop guys, please.
Thank you for existing! Cheers!
we need a pond live album
they were making one, but their sound guy's laptop with all the recordings was stolen :(
@@rhyeshedden7826 Seriously? What a fucking bummer. I saw them last year and they blew me away. Best performers I've ever seen live.
@@LanceVanceDance84 Yeah I know, was pretty gutted when I found out. I'm seeing them in Melbourne in a month, keen as a bean
@@rhyeshedden7826 Well, maybe someday they'll decide to try again. They're too good not to have at least one live album, especially when they're in their prime. Anyway, hope you enjoy the show. Seeing them live was like a religious experience for me lol.
@@LanceVanceDance84 hopefully. And yeah, it's definitely going to be great
this song and video never fails to make me go "what the fuck how is this even fucking POSSIBLE"
they need to bring this back to the live sets.
I saw them live in Amsterdam last year (october 2019) and they played it :) it was brilliant!! Very refreshing to hear some of the older stuff.
Ok but how about now. Idgaf how ahead of your time you were, how do we get this back now
This is a sneak up on you good song.
All of a sudden, you’re just down with it.
My God. JAY you beautiful man.

I love it ! mexico waits for you pond
I hear you man, best thing to happen to the Aussie music scene in a LONG time

this needs to be re- released how great is this live!

Alex Berghuis Is being in a band really so important that you let yourself be in a band that covers Maroon 5?
Adam Dekleer I compromise with maroon 5 so that one day I can force them to do this song
Not a lot of bands in my city

Which part?
5:40 Anyone know how Jay get this sound?
Tremolo
Matt Koopman Thanks bro!

+Ted Moesby i think its tremolo
Jay Watson at 5:25 so hilarious
bluebarracudasfolyfe he had the look of like “well hell guess I’ll just go with it” 😂
wow
This is better than any TI song!
What is the model of the white guitar? The one Jay Watson is playing. I love it so much.
