- I take the Reyleo 20 quart cooler I picked up on Amazon for $100 bucks and put it against the Yeti and Pelican Coolers.
- Each Cooler was loaded with 9lbs of ice from the gas station.
- Each Cooler was pre-chilled for 6 hours with a gallon milk jug full of ice.
- The coolers were only about half to a little more full with ice. Спорт
Good test - I noticed in the final shot, the two coolers on the right were more in sunlight than the Rayleo. Is it possible the two higher priced ones had a warmer environment. Have you noticed actual, real world, performance of the Rayleo to be the same as the others?
Thanks, I'm in this rabbit hole right now preparing for a 2 week road trip.
Thank you for taking the time and money to do a test for us to make our own decisions. Appreciate it 👍🏼. Thumbs up from me.
I ended up buying one. Should come in soon. Thanks
what you get?
Patricia Ra I ended up getting the Reyleo. I just barely got it in the mail yesterday. I have not had the chance to try it out yet. But I decided on it after a bit of research and good reviews on Amazon.
I’m happy to see “round” emblem you added to the yeti...
Love my newer Pelican model. Ditched the L shaped seal to a D style seal no regrets. Bought it off a guy who upgrade so i got the screaming deal of 100.
Where did you get the new gasket? Got a link?
@@SDMacMan I picked up my seal at my local Ace hardware cant remeber the brand but it was recommend by one of the guys there is EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) seal. He even recommended a company called Trim-Lok
Noon is when you cahave beer. As long as it's PM. If you haven't gone to sleep yet, AM is fine.
Pelican is the only one with a lifetime warranty.
I would have liked to have seen this test performed outside in the winter as well.
Go Wild! Thanks for the review, have been considering the Reyleo
@@adamriley7410 Do you have a link for the replacement latches on Amazon?
@@adamriley7410 awesome, thank you!
The outcome would be completely different if these were sitting outside in the sun on a 90 degree day. That dark colored Reyleo would come in last place.
Two coolers in the sun and one in the shade?
I got one and found my ice melt rate to be much higher! My igloo at half the price works better.
The Reyleo likely performed the best because it was 2/3 full of ice and the other looked more like 1/2 full.
Each had 9 lbs ice.
@@jakemccoy he’s saying that the void space is bad for ice retention.
if you want even more ice retention if your cooler has a drain plug at bottom drain out the water once a day and your ice will last longer. melted water makes more ice melt
So the new Rayleo is better than the older premium versions?
NRA sticker on that Yeti to counteract their silliness?
Igloo
Reyleo kicked the big brands ass.
it was more filled with ice ...
One thing I’d like to point out I know you said you used the same amount of ice in each cooler. However, I know that a yeti 50qt doesn’t hold as much as a pelican 50qt. The reyleo looked like it was much fuller than the pelican and yeti. Is this because the capacity is lower? The fuller the cooler the longer it would hold ice I’d like to see this challenge again only this time filling the coolers to capacity or basing the test on a percentage of each coolers capacity I think you’ll have different results but great video!
block ice!
Coolers are the one thing in which paying more money means waste of money for most situations. Expensive cooler keep cold longer, but they are too bulky and storage is lousy for the amount of room they take up. Unless you can't get more ice for 3 days or longer, I'd rather buy a mid priced cooler.
