I’ve had that exact cooler for over a year. I’ve gotten 3 summer days out of it with half ice. I believe their 5 day claims, even if its probably in a controlled environment.

Growing up we only used an Igloo. We were lucky enough to have an Icehouse near so we used dry ice. Looks like Pelican is comparable to the way we kept things cool.

Loved the video, just curious I heard on this model the drain plug leaks once you have meltwater. Have you experienced this or do you just use the ice packs? Thanks 👍
@bearlycamping I have 5 of the Pelican ice packs and none of them have ever leaked. My 30 also has never leaked at the drain plug. It uses a hose washer, so if that gets damaged you can easily replace it. Use Code SGO to get 10% off too. I think they do a great job.

Was the cooler or adult beverages pre chilled?
Into The Wild the cooler was NOT prechilled. As the video shows the beer went into the cooler at 40* from a refrigerator and we used only Pelican Ice packs! Well worth the investment and on sale here: amzn.to/2LgFtsx

Supposed to have been a 5 day test. Only tested for 4 days and that day the temp went up 10 degrees. You may know how to fish but you need some practice on selling coolers.
Well consider that this first test was with nothing but ICE PACKS not filled with ice. That will be next. This test was rigged specifically to be tough on the cooler, not to make it easy. But you gave me a great idea for the next one. I'll fill it with beer and top that sucker with as much ice as it can hold and see how many days it will keep them cold until the temp goes up. I'll run a poll on my FB page and send as people who guess the right number of days a gift. The number of days will determine the number of winners. Better?
I personally dont use Facebook. I would guess 5 days though. No prize necessary here. Pelican is a great cooler. Made in America is big selling point. Quality is about same as other high end coolers. Price is a stumbling block for me.
I understand. It used to be for me too. But now I that things like this as investments. Including investments in happiness. I'll let myself get a few top of the line things that will last the rest of my life that I can enjoy using and then pass on. Take care and thanks for the idea!
How many # ice packs are those?
AME Lawn and Landscape The test was done with a 2# ice pack only. THE smaller ones are 1#. I've used 2 - 1# packs and a 2# on top already for a day on the water and they worked as well as ice without the mess and water.
