Whitney Field is the only base in the game I would consider overpowered. It stand tall above all other bases in terms of its raw benefits that it provides. It is in a class of its own. THAT doesn't mean that other bases aren't fun to use or have beautiful landscapes, but when it comes to a matter of "what is the best base?" There is no other answer: Whitney Field. No other base provides more for you than this one. Even Jurassic Junction isn't as powerful as this base. @gitgudfox I can't thank you enough. I caught the Ring the Dinnerbell/Haven Device strategy on Twitch and its genius. I'm just getting started with a new forever community and we are killing it!
I have a question why haven't you ever checked on any of your people to see how they are doing after the attacks to make sure your super chicks are safe and what not with all of this farming of influence, I thought those 3 girls were very important to you?
I think this base has a little bit better ability with influence farming but I think farmland is second and with it being dead center in the map and visually more appealing farmland is my favorite.
Whitney Field are strong if the towers doesn't facing any obstacles. The first tower facing against the large contenna, while the other facing the hills.
You do know that if you are trying to open a locked door instead of spamming X you can just press RB or LB so you don't make as much noise and is quicker
Is there a way to re-fall in love with the game? I've been playing since it came out and keep getting bored. I have 2/4 of the legacies i just can't get past the same old, scavenge, kill zombies, kill plague hearts, repeat.
I love SoD2, but I feel this so hard. I think a major problem is that the game really lacks a lot of the heart that original game and it’s stories had. Even when they finally got around to adding story updates into 2 most of them just feel very surface level
It's because Undead Labs chooses cosmetic changes to the game, primarily, over mechanical changes that have a more transformative effect. Compare 4 years of SoD2 post game development to 4 years of 7 Days to Die or Oxygen Not Included development. Those 2 games primarily focus on adding new gameplay elements. A lot of Undead Labs' work went towards the Bounty Broker system which is a bunch of weapon skins and clothing skins. They also put nearly 2 years into making new maps. New maps are also cosmetics because you're playing the same game but with new scenery. Each map took the better part of a year to make, about 7 months.
I was just like that 5 years ago I quit state of decay 2 but 2021 December 21 I started to play it again my brain told me to not forget about a game you have not finished yet. Thanks to my brain I’m back to playing and I’m a pro like git gud fox now.
Get the mod that lets you rename the survivors, and name them after people you know, and if they die in the game, kill the person in the most gruesome way possible in real life.
Finishing all 4 legacy is a huge achievement especially on Lethal zone, not many can play SOD2 as ‘casual’ as Fox lol 😆 My suggestion would be take your time and enjoy the game more than just finishing your goal, I sometimes like to just sit on top of the mountain and admire the scenery. Too bad we couldn’t just made a camp in anywhere~
@@GitGudFox If we're talking about maximal use then yeah Whitney Field is far better. But for early game farming the Church on the Hill only takes 5 people and costs 1,000. Considering that the game can only render 6 community members + the active person means it's fairly close to max strength (that being defense strength) in that regard. One could easily start off in Cascade Hills get to the Church begin farming influence and move Meagher Valley and claim Whitney Field. By then they ought to have the resources to destroy any plague hearts that might be blocking it and move right into max farm mode
Waste of time, just move directly into Whitney Field. It's 8-man, 3500 influence, and you can start the game with 4000 influence with the Trader boon. 1 scentblock will clear the 4 plague hearts, 2 if you're less experienced. Failing the common story enclaves will get you 3 people quickly, then just recruit 1 random guy from a quest, pay 750 influence to recruit the initial "plague samples" quest friendly enclave and go straight into Whitney Field. If you're going a legacy run, you're better off in Trumbull Valley for access to scentblock from the Echo Labs research center anyways. So, no, I wouldn't want to do some kind of early game farming. I think that's a waste of time.
In fact, I just did that on my new forever community. I was in Whitney Field in basically 2-3 game days, and I did that with the Sheriff Legacy to boot, so I didn't even have the starting 4000 influence. Basically, if you're already going to have to destroy 2-3 plague hearts to get into the church... farm... change bases... nah, that's a waste of time. You might as well just destroy 4 plague hearts and go straight into Whitney Field.
I got the camp kelaqun base i think its called. I'll transfer maps at some point. But i really that my base is in the woods. Its got like a cool walll round the perimeter. Its really cool got 3 cabins and a main house. But i really don't like the look of whitney feilds. Its better then camp kelaqun. But camp kelaqun is so much more aesthetically pleasing.
Your first option should be to not kill them because they're not worth much. They can be useful for power leveling your standing if you really need to level people up. If you do need to kill a juggernaut, the JuggerSplode aka Bouncing Boris will 1-shot them, but it takes a little practice getting the hang of the throw. They're also very economical. Get them from the Independence supply call in. They're built from the fireworks crafting station.
Well, the first thing to know is that this is a highly refined / specialized playstyle I use because I've played the game at its highest difficulty for 5 years, so my methods can be a little different than average. I don't build any food facilities because I have learned to manage it in other ways allowing me to build another buff facility. 1) I manage medicine by rarely getting blood plague. You won't really use medicine for anything besides the -2 meds per day if you don't catch the blood plague. The best use for medicine late game is to make beer/strong pain killers to sell. 2) I manage my food through outposts. I start losing 6 food per day on Lethal Zone. 1 outpost knocks it down to -4 food per day and 2 outposts knocks it down to -2 food per day. I will often use 5 food outposts. But what about the other resources? 3) I manage materials by not upgrading facilities to the max. Most facilities only charge you -1 materials per day when fully maxed out. My material losses will normally only come from Trade Depot / Lounge Level 3 because they're worth it, but I often leave the infirmary at level 2 and the gym at level 1. 4) I manage ammo by not using watchtowers unless the base is so good that the built-in watchtowers are worth it like Whitney Field. Base defense comes from not being at your base rather than through watchtowers. 5) Fuel is the hardest to manage. I manage fuel by having a Driving skill character, an Automechanic (both improve fuel efficiency when driving) and by gaining allied enclaves to try and get the Caravans fuel bonus.
Is it harder to gain influence on harder levels? I find I max out on influence as it is so no point in siege collecting or selling painkillers. Other than rare skills & changing skills books nothing is all that expensive anyway.
the only thing i don't like about the base is there no inside anything. with this base though i find myself over stocked usually with 20 cars out front full of ruck sacks i cant even use. 😁😁😂😂
No, you will lose ammo if you forget to tag the siege, but as long as you tag the siege by returning to base and starting the siege, you can then leave and collect your money.

How did you get 113 building materials?
Seems like a pretty effortless way to get a new character to hero status as well.
Combined with running over all of the enemies that spawn around the base? You can flip heroes very quickly.
My favorite base on Meagher Valley will always be the brewery.
I think the fram in Trumble is the best. 4-large. Easy to get into.

Thanks fox! Another great video! I'm in lethal zone thanks to you and your videos! Keep up the great work 🦊
If you don’t wanna spend that much influence on doing this you can also do this at the church on Cascade Hills
You can't have as many simultaneous god combos in the church. You need 3 large facilities to do all god combos.
I want to say Undead Labs said that they will remove or balance the spamming sieges at the base. I could be wrong though
Well, it's been like this for years, so if they want to nerf Whitney Field, they've had a LONG time to do it.
Brilliant content many thanks!
3 months later fox made a ultra-cash economy. Imagine the possible profit made combining ultra-cash with this.
The only thing that could beat Whitney FIeld... was UltraCash Whitney FIeld.
You can also do the zombie siege from an outpost, you just have to swap characters
They patched that.
Thanks for the amazing content!
What are The god combos mentioned? Maybe i missed it but i think they arent explained
