It's been nearly two years since Superman's (Henry Cavill) colossal battle with Zod (Michael Shannon) devastated the city of Metropolis. The loss of life and collateral damage left many feeling angry and helpless, including crime-fighting billionaire Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). Convinced that Superman is now a threat to humanity, Batman embarks on a personal vendetta to end his reign on Earth, while the conniving Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) launches his own crusade against the Man of Steel.

The fact that he asked him "Do you bleed?" is reinforced in the main fight where batman tells superman that "you're not brave... Men are brave" is just amazing. Even after seeing what superman is capable of.... Batman never cowers in fear.
Except when almost right after that line, the kryptonite wears off and Batman pretty much cowers in fear when Superman starts floating, ready to strike, and is very, very, VERY pissed off

I think there's some really good cartoon movie where he beats him (at great cost) and says "I want you to remember the man who beat you" or something like that but most of the time, He's somewhat petrified of Superman's power and strength

3:13 I absolutely love the first time Superman hears Batman's voice because everyone who he's talked to as Clark up to this point has described him as not as a man, but as a mythical feral creature that guards Gotham from anyone who means to harm the city, no matter who they are. And naturally Superman brushes it off and as just "a Gotham thing" so naturally when he runs into the bat himself he's expecting just a normal human in a costume so he makes his "consider this a mercy" threat and goes to leave... but then he hears a voice not a human voice, oh no this is the voice of a demon who lives up to everything the Gotham citizens told him and Henry Cavill plays superman's surprise perfectly. In case you can't tell I absolutely adore this moment! :-)

One point I have to give this is that the rocket launcher guy wasn't all "we got him!", but instead was "where is he?!". Props to having a bad guy assume the hero didn't die, rather than the opposite, which is usually the case.

You know when you watch the movie a second time and pay attention to the fact that everyone is afraid/cautionary of Superman because of his power, and then a Normal Human Being has the balls to threaten him, like that right to his face without even showing a hint of fear. Ben Affleck’s Batman is sssooo misunderstood and Underappreciated. In my opinion most people don’t understand the tone of where Zack Snyder was coming from. I feel that he is an incredible Batman!!!
I agree 100% I love how dark and brutal he is almost like the punisher Batfleck is definitely my favorite batman.
The common criticism is because he kills. The people complaining about this are too ignorant to see this is not meant to be your traditional batman and rather a much older, grittier and morally lose batman inspired by the dark knight returns. There’s tons of different versions of our hero’s. Snyder deliberately made this batman a murderer to show his redemption arc which he’d planned throughout the JL movies. His aim was to show his journey back to his classic no killing rule and that he wasn’t too far gone. Snyder had a unique vision for each character and had people just given him a chance to tell his story they’d have understood this

Ben's batman has been Batman for over 20 years now, and he is not killing people on purpose - it's more like an attitude where he thinks "oh well, these thugs are getting in my way and if they happen to be within the danger zone than too bad". He is on the borderline of breaking his code. The only time he is at his mental peak of wanting to kill is when he builds up his hatred for superman. He only realizes what he has down when he is remembered of his mother's death because he had an epiphany moment of him becoming like his parent's killer.

I was always wondering why batman asked superman that and I think I finally understand. There is a quote, "if god bleeds, people will cease to believe in him". I think batman asked superman if he bleeds is that he is asking him are you a god. This could also go back to the other statement lex made saying if god is all powerful, he cannot be all good. He is asking superman his existential question, if you are god are you all good or all powerful. After bruce saying that superman will bleed soon is to show others he isn't someone to look up to since he is no god.

What people forget to realize is that Superman can see through the Batsuit. He knows he’s talking directly to Bruce Wayne. This moment is to show the audience that Superman could potentially stop Batman anytime he wants to, but he’s giving him the chance to back off. That’s why later when they fight he says “Bruce you have to listen to me. Lex wants us to fight...”
Which is never established in the continuity of these movies, so it makes no sense.

I myself was a huge Bale fan after growing up with the Nolan trilogy I was definitely reluctant about Affleck’s portrayal, but now I legitimately think he might be my favorite, comic accurate Batman.
Side note; his voice changer is absolutely rad

Really underrated flim especially the ultimate cut
One of the best parts of this scene is where Superman rips the doors off like the Batmobile is made out of styrofoam, and he slowly stands up to look him in the eyes.
Classic Batman.
What wasn’t classic Batman was the 10 people he killed during that car chase. Ya win some ya lose some I guess.
Not to mention that Challenger that got torched. Such blatant disregard for awesome cars (not that the drivers were innocent for bringing it along to race the freaking Batman).
