@@muhammadtaufiqhussain5193 yup, actually, the whole sense of batman's line : "you're not brave. Men are brave" hits now. You can't be brave if you don't fear something, as the whole concept of bravery is to face what you fear. Superman being invulnerable, having greatest strengh and speed and being kind of omnipotent, he doesn't fear anything, because he knows he can protect everyone as long as he's with them. When he fights, he doesn't fear the defeat because he can't be defeated. So yeah, he isn't brave. Batman on the other hand is just a man, he trained is whole life, studied all kind of martial arts, technology, weaponry, he watched again and again superman to learn how he fights, he learned his weaknesses, but Batman is only a man. He knows that he has actually little chances to win a fight vs superman, but he still tries it in the hope to save earth from the apocalypse or dictatorship from superman (a scenario that is actually very likely to happen). So this is bravery, indeed. But it doesn't erase the fear that he feels each time superman regains his strengh. Btw, at 2:51 superman doesn't feel fear, but confusion. he doesn't understand at first how he can be weakened, and when he fights back, he has trouble understanding that now he doesn't have the upperhand. Because he doesn't know fear. When at 4:30 Batman see how superman is now back as before, he feels fear, because he knows that superman can just kill him right here and know. But Superman ? You see arrogance on his face.
Actually his set up was from the moment superman showed. He put up traps that he is FULLY aware superman would easily tank just to make him feel so confident that Superman would want to flex more than he would want to just avoid Batman's offense. Imagine if he pulled out that grebade launcher the second superman landed. He would have deflected the grenade or used his lasers to destroy the weapon. He was so frustrated by the time they were on the rooftop that Superman was just focused on showing Batman that his attacks are ez to beat.
I really love when Clark look so surprised when Batman stopped his punch, this is the first time he is experiencing something like this.. the pain of a getting beaten up by a man who is just wearing a suit.. even zod couldn't make him feel that much pain but Batman did ... Batman made him realise what it feels to be a human and how long you can stand your ground without the superpowers ...
This is poetic irony at its finest. A *powerless man* in an exoskeleton power armor tries to teach an *all-powerful God* what it means to be brave,... only for an *alien* child to show him what it means to be human. Truly a cinematic masterpiece.

I have a hard time seeing it that way, given that Superman wanted nothing to do with the fight to begin with. The fight was basically a crazed, murderous Batman against a Superman who was just fighting enough to stay alive. Batman even had to rationalize murdering Supers by dehumanizing him. Exactly.... Superman never fights to kill or do serious harm, so batman's lucky. With the arsenal at Clark's disposal, prep time or not, Bruce wouldn't stand a chance against the man of steel.
The music in this scene is S-Tier from the very beginning. Soundtrack storytelling at its finest. The creepy choral voice that accompanies Batman and darkness from 0:00-0:11, accompanied by the heaven-like choral voices for Superman that chime in upon his reveal at 0:04. I'm giving this movie a huge thumbs up.
Ben Affleck wasn’t the problem, he was actually great as Batman. It was the bad casting choice of Lex Luthor and the rushed plot to introduce Doomsday and the “death” of Superman
@@Grievous2009 I can agree with your take. I can't blame the directors too much on trying to cram a bunch of origin content into a 2 or up to 3-hour movie. These types of stories belong more on a Netflix or Prime Original series. Or to place movies in excellent stages as the MCU did. I think the bottom line was resources, and for the first time, DC could not match Marvel because of financial backed resources that Disney provides for Marvel Studios. I liked the JLA movie although they crammed a lot of stuff into that movie as well. And the story becomes extremely complicated for even hardcore comic fans. I think there was too much pressure from the directors and producers to compete with Marvel Studios. If DC Studios were more patient, they could have succeeded in making DC movies better for their loyal fan base. I think the portrayal of Lex Luthor was done in order to attract the young generation of movie fans and that in itself was a failure.
@@monsterwwe5213 I respect your opinion. Not all moviegoers agree. I would like to know if possible for you to share why in your opinion you think the movie was trash. I'm not certain if you are a comic fan first or simply a movie fan that watched a comic-based movie. I just felt that Ben Affleck played his role well as Batman. As you're not a fan of this movie, I personally didn't think that Michael Keaton was a good Batman from the 1989 movie and the sequel. I liked Jack Nicholson as the Joker but did not feel Keaton nailed the Batman role despite favorable opinions from most fan. Again, I respect your opinion although I still stand by my opinion that the fight scene was spectacular between the Dark Knight vs The Man of Steel. Most fans know that Batman and Superman have psychological differences on how to be a hero. I felt the movie did a good job on portraying that on the big screen. IMHO, as the other responder from this thread stated, there should have been better character development for a better actor to portray Lex Luthor. And I thought the CGI was a bit rushed, but the fight scene between Batman vs Superman was flawless. I think fans wanted to see that much more than the storyline. Which is most likely why the DC Expanded Universe overall has had its challenges for obvious reasons - competing with the MCU.

Batman is a master tactician and an incredible student of the martial arts. He easily counters every attack Superman attempts without a great deal of effort, only slowing down when Superman's powers start to return.
I think so, but I hear all the time about how superman would get fucked up by so and so n it never makes any sense ...the flash could kill Superman easy type shit. I love watching Batman and him go at it cuz with the kryptonite it is at least feasible that when couples with the fact he has no desire (or even more then that he couldn't bring himself to kill him even if he did want to cuz that ain't his way), those two factors at least provide a logical way that batman could be a dick and beat on him for a brief moment while Superman isnt himself from the kryptonite and still aware he could kill him but won't do it. The scene was great, lasted over ten minutes, bad ass quote's and a pure holy shit moment for fans everywhere I'm sure which made for a great scene and in the right movie that came out in the right era for comic movies. When internet went out and comes back on
@@streaming.tesIa.now.24on wow! Didn’t notice that
@@muhammadtaufiqhussain5193 yup, actually, the whole sense of batman's line : "you're not brave.

Something about a mortal gaining the upper hand on a overpowered being. Humanity's will personified.
I have a hard time seeing it that way, given that Superman wanted nothing to do with the fight to begin with. I finally watched this amazing movie. I watched the extended version. The storyline leading up to the fight was a masterpiece. I read that a lot of fans complained about the Ben Affleck version of Batman. I won't get into who's the best Batman but Ben Affleck nailed the role in this movie.
Amazing TF are you saying this movie was trash
3:00 music and batman fight skills are just amazing
"You ain't no God... your not even a man"... best Batman dialogue ever imo
2:51 bruhh that's something Scarwcrow would say
Best part is when Superman's strength began to regenerate. It was at that moment that Bruce knew he messed up.
Batman v Superman: Batman despises and almost kills Superman, has a suit of armor that survives attacks from essentially a God, and seems to be like a devil
Justice League: “...I’m rich”
Andrew Ludwick yeah it's called plot armor very expensive
He didn't win cause of the armor
@@papayetto3700 Andrew is trying to say that he was so fucking badass in BVS and JL showed it all of this didn't matter and money is what makes him batman.
Edoardo Piccoli :He didnt win at all , only plot armor save him .If i was supes and my mom was a hostage , Batman is deadman at the second i spot him ...You see - Batman vs Superman is like An ant vs A Hippo - even General Zodd, who is supposed to be equal (if not stronger, cose he is born soldier) to suppes , with whole squad cant take him down ...
@@user-krasi batman is one of the strongest character of the DC, you just don't want to admit that only because he is a human, he beated all the justice league together
Great Movie. Great scene.
The 2 most famous comicbook characters ever, fighting each other.
The amazing thing about this scene is that Superman isn't devoid of everything... just his powers. This puts him completely out of the match because he's used to muscling through everyone. Batman is a master tactician and an incredible student of the martial arts. He easily counters every attack Superman attempts without a great deal of effort, only slowing down when Superman's powers start to return.
only problem is Superman is trying to be nice thru the fight. if he wanted the fight would be over at any time he chose
@@jamesmounts4379 obviously
But in all reality, none of them have a shred of hope in a real straight up fight. Shit they could ten vs one his ass n they'd still be dead in what like a tenth of a second...... Superman is almost like Thor is in these movies. Thor is my favorite by far on either DC or marvel, but the movies nerfed the holy fuxk outta him. Thor is beyond comprehension strong and bad ass and all that shit x10 but in the movies they make him seem like fuckin iron man or captain America could give him a problem. That's insane but the movies would kinda suck if he was true to form in them, movies would be three minutes long.....they do it to Superman too in the movies and it sucks ass to watch ur favorite character get nerfed like that but it's so a good movie can be made. Still sucks tho
@@jamesmounts4379 I swear bro
"If I wanted it, you would be DEAD already"
That's the true thing. But Batman's got a ton of plot armor, that's all.
1:53 now that looks REAL batmanish
whatever anyone says but this scene always gives me goosebumps it's so intense and scary zack Snyder u r really a genius one of the best fighting scenes ever in a superhero movie
Iconic fight scene ever! Love this movie and so many people hated but I love it!
I'm with you 100%. The movie was awesome! I just watched the extended version.
@@toddsands6000 I mean a few Snyder haters out there hated this movie but so many like it! Who knows maybe some day will restore the Snyder and finish the trilogy and Henry cavill man of steel 2.
@@DarkMAGABrownconservative05 Ben Affleck was clearly the most underrated Batman I have seen on the big screen to date. I like many fans have flipped through comic books and covers of how Batman has been drawn throughout the decades. Ben Affleck's version of Batman is a spitting image of the Dark Knight of how he's drawn. I read that Zack Snyder put his heart into the Batman vs Superman project. Some critics did not see the investment and passion put into this movie, but like yourself and other fans, they saw every bit of it. I didn't watch all of Man of Steel yet which I will. I will say this, after watching that awesome anticipated fight scene between Batman vs Superman, I became a fan again of the movie franchise. The critics should be ashamed of themselves. I give all of them at best 1-star for being poor jealous critics. IMHO, the extended cut as I mentioned was awesome.
They hated the ending of the fight, because it was poorly executed.
@@Maniac742 what? It was awesome fighting scenes ending. I was confused with the theatre version movie but after watching the ultimate cut movie, it was making sense and it has become one of my favorite DCEU movie plus Snyder justice league cut too. People hated the theatre version and I do understand why and I don’t blame them and it was WB fault for being greedy and trying to catch up to marvel.
The music ..the visuals..the fight .... ludicrous how people didn't like this film...epic
4:31 That "it's just a prank bro" face is so funny 😂
