I remember this boss fight, if you didn't have perfect timing you would lose. If you were a 0.1 seconds off you would get hit and have to do it again.
Didnt help the wiimote could be incredibly unresponsive

I cried after I beat Arthur and the credits started playing, because I only had the game for 3 days, and I couldn't believe how short it was! I felt better when I found out that there was still more to do in the game

The second part usually takes more practice than the first. He uses much harder attacks.

This boss was a bitch to beat. I could not figure him out until I realized I have to strike when the Wii Remote shows up on-screen, not when his sword glows. Even then, sometimes he just decides to attack before the prompt comes up. Really annoying.
the reason why the wii remote won't show up sometimes is you need to swing you're sword even if it's not there no bug it's apart of the game

I was so hard I tried about 100 times and my hands are sweaty.
I kinda feel bad, but totally awesome at the same time reading these comments. "So hard" blah blah blah, and I'm just over here with a no-glitch, no-hack record under 8 seconds (according to the in-game timer).
I also greatly enjoy how hypocritical Arthur is in this fight. He runs away and attacks blindly behind himself like a toddler playing tag.

some tricks in the king arthur fight;
don't be afraid of the lightning bolts, all they do is slow you down which you can quickly pick back up from
use soul surge whenever king arthur spawns the dark orbs, you're guaranteed to hit them that way
pay more attention to the wii remote icon rather than the sword's glow at the quick time event

*God damn it man, block!* blocking makes most of these bosses look like a complete joke.
After multiple times I had thought I was going to never solve out this boss! I gave up a few months ago, but than I decided to try again since I had no work to do. WITH THE HELP FROM THIS VIDEO I MANAGED TO FINISH HIM! THANK YOU SO MUCH! THIS IS SUCH AN ACHIEVEMENT! 🏆 ✨

I beated him for the 1st time with 3 stars he was HARD even harder then the Dark Queen who I gotten 5 stars on XD
This was my personal favorite boss in this game.
Although I would have trouble choosing between this and the Super Sonic final battle.
Yeah, you can actually do that.
First, you get lucky and draw the portal-sword.
Then you beat the red things back for a full gauge,
Jump and then do the zoom attack thing, if you exacute the swings all right, your bar won't drop at the end.
Repeat from 'Jump'.
This boss took me forever to beat, I would almost put it on the level of Dark Souls bosses, but it's an entirely different game so it's comparing apples and oranges
oddly enough, it wouldn't be too out of place in dark souls, except for the running
Regrettably, I'm still stuck on this guy. I've gotten as far as damaging him the first time, but when he uses his stronger attacks, I'm toast.

The best feeling was playing back in 2010 for me, fighting against King Arthur whole jamming to the fight the night background music, one of the greatest moments.

@Supersonic415 Actually, on the 2nd jump I swong my sword t the right time but sometimes if I did that, king arthur will konck me out. I figured it out later that you have to swing one millisecond BEFORE..... THAT WAS SO HARD!!!

Just for future reference, you can perfect hit him during the soul surge. Much more damage, and makes you able to defeat him in the first round

I remember near the end it kind of tricks you. I realised this as a kid but I had forgotten it.
if mean how to get on his horse and atttack him, you must hit back those fireballs he shots at you with your sword. if you hit him, your red meter gets higher a little and then do an homing attack on him and then you can start attack him
It can be a hard boss, but yet you only need to get up to him twice, it's just you need exact timing I guess.
Yeah, but yhe biggest problem is one pause in his attack
You actually only need to get up to him once if you can lol. Perfect hits are very nice

I own a Wii and the Game and this game is just Amazing all around and not to mention the Wi-Fi option and Battle mode
no, its called maxing out Knioght style, and giving him 2 herb of strength (the one that makes your soul gauge fill up faster. while you runb with it maxed out, you gail soul gauge while you run. along with perfect timing on the sword slashes and having enough of the gauge left to chain both of the surges together right off the bat.

Honestly, you can say how dry the game is, you can mention how crusty the controls are, you can even mention how sonic's run cycle is so wonky. But one thing you can't say is that the bosses weren't challenging. One thing old sonic games have that new sonic games don't is challenging INTENSE bosses! They have the intensity part, but where is the difficulty?? Sparing with king arthur, hearing the sharp and hard SLICE everytime I time it correctly. Theres this sense of satisfactory and purpose when you fight king arthur and merlina. Especially from myself who played and beat the game with my family in 2nd grade. I was so happy because beating the boss took so long. Unlike sonic colors and lost world, where you had to sit and wait to attack- YOU HAD TO CHASE KING ARTHUR. You don't just run automatically, you CHASE them. Its like you're actually sonic not letting the antagonist get away. This would be great in the sonic franchise if it wasn't overused so much though. Games like sonic adventure and sonic adventure 2 had a lot more creative boss ideas, instead of just sonic chasing after the enemy 24/7
Yeah all you have to do is use soul surge and strike when ever the wii mote sing appears. If you cant do soul surge then hit those black things he throws back to fill up your soul surge gauge. It's tricky but easy once you see the pattern.

It’s easy when you get the hang of it as soon as u see the wii remote just swing it for the second part it’s all about timing and also you got to make sure your gauge is full when it gets full that’s when you attack and when you attack you gotta have perfect timing I promise you the timing is the killer here

The second time in the boss battle trying to defeat him I was screaming "WHAT DID I DO?!" Because I didn't swing my remote when I try to hit him and he still hit me and I still never defeated the boss.
He's not flying...thats his Homing dash attack. And no sonic is apparently not as fast as the horse.
I had such a hard time. I could never get past the second sword clashing. I did however discover that you can kill him during the first clash if you time all of your hits perfectly (when the sword glows for a second). That way I could finally beat him.
I beet him in 3 days and I kept playing over just for that Gosh damn background music
