Really appreciating your perspective. Like you, I enjoy RC, but have no plans to go pro with races lasting 2 & 3 days. Some of the guys covering their upgrades come from the basis of prolonged racing while also being sponsored. Again, great vid. Subscribed.
If you want to remove the stock front bumper, highly recommend the M2C front hinge pin braces. They come with threaded hinge pins. Flat nut on one side you red loctite in place. Then the other side which is facing forward uses nylock nuts. Much more secure and they will not spread apart. Also, for your HR hubs, always keep a spare set or two of the carbon ears. Hard to find but they’re on eBay. Eventually they will snap or if your tie rods come loose, it’ll enlarge the holes. Crank down more, it’ll crush the carbon over time, then snap.
The benefit of the metal steering blocks is the general philosophy of having metal down the middle (driveline), metal on the ends (steering blocks), and plastic in the middle (a arms and drive shafts) which are meant to be like fuses in an electrical system. The things that are meant to break. Then keep spare drive shafts and a arms and, if things go to plan... you already have what is supposed to break. What you hope breaks instead of the driveline. The steering blocks also don't flex or twist at all, so they keep all of the steering components locked in place in relation too each other out at the wheels. They do a lot more than they might appear to do, and are a part of the fundamental design of how a "tank" is supposed to work. I turned my Kraton 4S into a tank with this design, because it was pretty weak for the power it had out of the box... this is why the parts exist to do this to almost any car.
Never get metal a arms on any kind of basher unless you just want a show car, that is going completely against the grain of what you are supposed to be doing.
OH!!! You will be so happy!!! I have that in my Notorious with a 20 tooth. If you’re going to jump, you’ll need to modify the Max6 shroud because the fan can rise up and hit the grille. The Arrma forum has info.
SpeedSyko there are fans where you remove the whole plastic top of the Max6 and screw it directly into the heat sink, problem gone entirely. Or... I shared a link with the breaking fans issue to someone else’s reply to my comment.
Amen to that I haven't even turned my felony on yet have bought a dx5r pro, max 6 combo, everything hot racing, everything basher queen, ceramic bearings, stainless screw kit, a slew of scorched rc stuff, unpainted c8 body, gens ace basher series 8000 100c lipos, silver hoons. Power hobby servo. And I'm sure I'm forgetting something lol. So I get it🤘😎
Hello from the UK! Now that's a very good looking v3. Is there any Arrma left!? Wish we had access to after-market parts like you guys (at a decent price). Can't wait to see running vids.. I have a Hobbywing 5687 waiting to put in mine, but have been waiting...and waiting.....and waiting for the v4 Max6 (because of the temp sensors on the new motors). Might buckle soon and get v3 as Hobbywing said "it's (v4) not due soon" back in Feb.
Hey bro... Perfect vid👑 I have now stock arrma motor.on my kraton 6s v3. I want to put 1650kv.. It is more power/moment from 2050kv motor ? And..how much pinion i wil shuld to put...on 6s... Thanks
I just ordered a Kraton EXB and on Arrma site they stated the max motor size is 43 mm ...I was just wondering if it going to have to same motor mount ....I ordered a Castle 1717 1650 kv motor I hope it fits....if you have a idea drop me a line...
I just got a max5 in my exb Yesterday, dose it fit barely then 4985can right underneath the esc bc it will not fit in stock esc mount location, today's mission is to mount esc as safe as possible im still at drawing board.........
The fact the just bash it stuff is 7075 is more important than the extra 2mm. Much stiffer and stronger than the 6000 series stuff on the stock non exb kraton. Good looking rig bud.
Cool video brotha. Question...are you suppose to remove the black washers that sit in between the front a arm and pillow balls when upgrading to the rpm arms ? Some1 told me that once but never followed up and just noticed yours are there. 💯✊🏾
That's some serious bling, strength, weight and power dropped in 🥴🤩 have you shimmed the diffs yet? With all those extras, trust me you'll want to pull them out and shim everything up first... if you're ever going to run this thing 😁
Remove the clip and washers on front rpm arms to pillowballs. If you jump with them with rpm arms you will pop front shafts and tear your arms up/bend shaft.
Hi, always interesting videos! I have had other brands, I don't know Arrma, the last and only model I currently have is an Xmaxx. I am very tempted by the Typhon 6s, what to do, advice? p.s. (I had aimed at the 3s version, too much plastic.. I don't know) Thanks.
I'm upgrading my Kraton 6S V4 and have a lot of the same upgrades as he does. In case you hadn't heard a response, this here are some of the main parts he has (and possibly a few others that I can attest are good). A simple search on EBAY, Amazon, or Google with these references ought to get you what you need. Parts will be in parentheses: •RPM Front Bumper (RPM81472) •Traxxas Rod Ends (TRA 1942) •Hot Racing Front Axle Carriers / Steering Hubs (AON21M01) •Hot Racing Rear Axle Carriers (AON22M01) •Hot Racing Aluminum Center Diff Mount (AO38A01) •Hot Racing Aluminum Diff Gearbox--only get 1 p/order so x2--(AON12E01) •Hot Racing Aluminum Gearbox Case Bulkhead Cover--x2(AON12C01) •Hot Racing Aluminum Sway Bar Mount Set AON311M01 •Just Bash It R/C Re-enforced 5mm Aluminum Chassis and Re-enforced Aluminum Shock Towers (Google it and you should find their site) •Hot Racing Aluminum Rear Chassis Brace (AON30C01) Hot Racing Aluminum Front Chassis Brace (AON28C01) EDIT: Forgot the Arms. •RPM Front upper and lower arms--1 pack gets you upper & lower for one side of car p/ pack so you'll need to order x2 (RPM 81482) •RPM Rear Arms--only 1 pack needed (RPM 81402) Hope this helps.
That looks awesome! What springs are you running on yours? I have the stock ones and they're basically cranked all the way down to give me proper ride height
Nice build :) have you been able to finish it yet ? btw you have probably been told this already but you need to switch out the stock bumper to a Typhon/Talion one if you're gonna bash the truck with the RPM bumper.
I bent the rear of my stock Kraton 6s v4 chassis while doing a huge jump off my ramps at the park. I have to replace it with an smc-racing.net chassis. I guess I jump my rigs very high. I already had the shock towers and chassis braces from that same company, but it wasn't enough 🤣
Consider ordering the hinge pins from M2C, it solves the front bumper issue. Instead of the full kit you can drill out the back side of the stock mount and use his threaded hardened steal hinge pins. It's about $13 a pair or you can do the full kit that's $70 each. I am running the full kit up front and the drilled stock on the rear. m2cracing.net/arrma/473-m2c-3137-arrma-captured-hinge-pins.html
I had the stock ones and my dogbones kept falling out so I switched to the rpm ones. I honestly don't think it has anything to do with the arms. I adjusted my suspension and all has been well since than.
I'm assuming your belted tires are long gone. They are worthless for offroad. IMHO a true down grade from stock. I'm at a point now where the only thing I will consider changing is motor esc from stock. Every rc I've owned runs much better stock. Rc helicopters you would be hard pressed to find any aftermarket parts.
Nah.... He did not upgrade because he had to, he did it because he wanted to. Also, why would anyone spend a high price for mostly plastic with a Traxxas that also needs massive metal upgrades which does not come stock, less so then a 6S ARRMA. Traxxas are Apple of RC's. High priced with cheap produced parts while ARRMA and Losi you are getting more then what you are paying for hence better price for value.
nice and cool video, I really like the philosophy of your customization. beautiful mechanics, beautiful parts and a truly personal car.
awesome stuff sir! I have to say, I never had the feeling I was lacking power with the kraton.... Have fun with the car!
Really appreciating your perspective. Like you, I enjoy RC, but have no plans to go pro with races lasting 2 & 3 days. Some of the guys covering their upgrades come from the basis of prolonged racing while also being sponsored.

Mans running the same system i have in my xmaxx but in a kraton 6s... things gonna be a beast
Still to this Day this the best looking Kraton 6s on RUclips
Did you end up changing the gearing or sticking with the 20t?

I just got my first Arrma Notorious 6s and I’m setting it up something like yours she looks AWESOME 💪🔥get job

Do you have a link about fan and max6 lm interested thanks;
I could not find one person to verify that works!!!! Thanks

I just ordered that combo for the new Arrma kraton EXB ! 😀
Nice! I was looking at that this morning.
Mine will be here tomorrow. Hope I’m happy with it. See a lot of diff issues
It looks freaking killer man, nice job
Thanks. Just waiting for the esc to get here.
The car and motor look sweet, you always keep your car clean and in tip top shape 👍👊🔥🔥
That’s a handsome truck 🤙🤙gonna put that same system in my spare MOJAVE can’t wait
my brother that Kraton is beautiful bro...awesome set up with the hobbywing 💪💪💪💯💯💯
Could I buy that motor and use the stock v5 (spectrum) esc? Or do I need the max 5/6? I know I’d need to change ends
So nice that tho the diff houses are awesome
Amen to that I haven't even turned my felony on yet have bought a dx5r pro, max 6 combo, everything hot racing, everything basher queen, ceramic bearings, stainless screw kit, a slew of scorched rc stuff, unpainted c8 body, gens ace basher series 8000 100c lipos, silver hoons. Brilliant what a clinical operation, inspirational.
Great video 👍 quick question....mines stay lit on green🤔thinking my ESC is bad. Only had my kraton 6s blx for a week from Horizon Hobby
Nice clean setup.👍 These cars look better with dirt on them though✌😁
Daaaaaamn!! That thing is fuago🔥 you may have the best looking kraton I ever seen, and I im a member of arrma forum...I've seen ALOT of kratons! 🙂👊
Any update on this... was hoping for a video on it with the motor and ESC all hooked up :)
Hi buddy, nice video and power combo setup! May I ask how is your rear diff holding up? LSD or Open rear diff? Thank you!
I just ordered a Kraton EXB and on Arrma site they stated the max motor size is 43 mm ...I was just wondering if it going to have to same motor mount ....I ordered a Castle 1717 1650 kv motor I hope it fits....if you have a idea drop me a line...
Sweet build brother.
great video the car looks awesome 👍🏻
Wow just got into RC and loving the channel new sub here!
Enjoy the hobby.
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs awe man...that thing is bulletproof. GET THAT THING RUNNING!!!!!! We need to see that. Great friggin job
I was wondering if that motor would bolt right up? I have a max5 combo on the shelf, dont think that will work? lol
I just got a max5 in my exb Yesterday, dose it fit barely then 4985can
right underneath the esc bc it will not fit in stock esc mount location, today's mission is to mount esc as safe as possible im still at drawing board.........
R. Endicott . That’s cool at least the motor fits. Strap the esc to the front bumper? Ya it would be mission impossible? Thanks for the info!
The fact the just bash it stuff is 7075 is more important than the extra 2mm. Much stiffer and stronger than the 6000 series stuff on the stock non exb kraton. Good looking rig bud.
Buen vídeo Saludos desde MÉXICO 🙌🇲🇽🙌
You can cut the tempwires of of the esc firma.
Also when put anodized parts in sinkcleaner it will be bare metal
Beautiful bro. Love it.
Would like to see a comparison on the hobby wing vs the castle motor that you have put in your kraton
What do you use to clean you rc trucks? So clean looking?
I’m just getting the exb
Cool video brotha. Question...are you suppose to remove the black washers that sit in between the front a arm and pillow balls when upgrading to the rpm arms ? Some1 told me that once but never followed up and just noticed yours are there. 💯✊🏾
You should. I had rpms on and left the spacer in and my front dog bones kept falling out
That's some serious bling, strength, weight and power dropped in 🥴🤩 have you shimmed the diffs yet? With all those extras, trust me you'll want to pull them out and shim everything up first... if you're ever going to run this thing 😁

I am very tempted by the Typhon 6s, what to do, advice?
p.s. (I had aimed at the 3s version, too much plastic.. I don't know) Thanks.
Anyone know of a mounting system for the HW 4985 for a 40mm fan in a Kraton 6s? Thanks in advance!

are you worried that , that savox servo is not waterproof?
Awesome rig 🔥🔥🔥💪🏎💨
Beautiful rig!
Perfect job dude...i love it💪
Like👌
Can you put a list of each part because I want to make my buggy like yours?

Hot Racing Aluminum Front Chassis Brace (AON28C01)
EDIT: Forgot the Arms.
•RPM Front upper and lower arms--1 pack gets you upper & lower for one side of car p/ pack so you'll need to order x2 (RPM 81482)
•RPM Rear Arms--only 1 pack needed (RPM 81402)
Hope this helps.
Any mods required to fit that motor size?
That looks awesome! What springs are you running on yours?
I have the stock ones and they're basically cranked all the way down to give me proper ride height
I have a max6 in my mojave with stock motor would this motor be better
Question for my 6s notorious v4 what bumper should I order so I can put a RPM front bumper? Should I use a Kraton or Typhon
Do you need to raise the centre diff housing ? And does the motor touch the floor
Man I hope mine looks this good eventually lol. But I'm still trying to get mine out of layaway. Over half way there 😂🤣😔
can you please tell me were i can buy that frame and the name
sweet ride
Nice build :) have you been able to finish it yet ? btw you have probably been told this already but you need to switch out the stock bumper to a Typhon/Talion one if you're gonna bash the truck with the RPM bumper.
Waiting on the next one im gonna subscribe just to see it so please get on it 💪🏾💪🏾💯👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Will the spectrum 1250kv motor fit on the mount on the 6s platform??
That rig should be kept in a glass case. 👍
What motor mount kit is that? Looks all metal, the ones i see the mount is metal and the rest is plastic.
Stock and Hot Racing.
Do your diff case screws back out on you? Hot racing aluminum diff cases back out on me.
Use threadlocker. Blue
Beautiful
I have the Castle/Traxxas Xo1 motor in my Kraton 6s
What's your top speed
I really want one of these
I can not find rpm parts for the typhon any reasons y bro
I have the max 6 combo in my kraton good choice
Is it faster than stock?
@@mg90q61 You should gain more speed/power with the ESC alone over the stock one.
What's the speed

Hot Racing AON08FF01 Aluminum Front Lower Front Suspension Arm Mount Arrma 1/8
Hobbywing has never been cheap.
Nice👍
It was at the Kraton 8s thatvthe chassis bended..
This is why Arrma released 8s ver.2
Check it on Aussi Playground rc channel..
It bends on the 6s too

Should hav jus bought a Traxxas!! 😂😂😂

Do you have to program/setup the esc?
