I believe I am at my wit's end with a budget. Every January I start a new budget and everything is fine for January, February, and March. April comes and boom, everything falls apart because of breaking appliances, a house emergency, car repair, things like that, usually until July. By that time I am so far behind on everything that it takes till the end of the year to catch up. I've been working on this since 2020, one year after I retired. A few days ago I sat down and had a talk with myself to figure out what is going on. What I realized is that I was trying to save so much money through savings challenges that I was cutting myself short on other things out of desperation to be like everybody else and save $1,000 a month on an $893 monthly budget. I watched a video of a lady who had a challenge very similar to your's about the no spend days. That's all I'm doing right now. $1 a day for every day I don't spend on WANTS. My big want is fast food. I've budgeted enough money for fast food three times a month, and that is for the $5 or $6 value meals. I just wonder if there are other people out there that have gone through the same thing. This just gets so hard sometimes.
Hi! I can totally relate!!! Ive spent over $10k this year already!! Ugh! Unexpected House and car stuff. You are not alone!! If that’s all the challenges you can do, that’s ok! We are all different and have different financial circumstances. I spend lots on things I WANT and I need to stop! Heading over to your channel to support! 😊❤
It's July & a lot of us are doing resets on our goals. Just remember what ever you have saved is a win, better than past years & if an emergency happens better to have it saved & start over than get a loan or put on a credit card. Also remember you are you don't compare to others. You got this 👍
Oh my gosh, I just realized I never commented! This week has been crazy with family visiting and we watched the video later than normal so I thought I had more time. Anyway, we saved $20 with the memory game (the hubby played and he missed two items 😊). Our final total saved was $507 and it went to our emergency fund. What a blast this was! Next time we are going to allocate each row to a different goal. Thanks so much for making saving money fun!!
I remembered 3 items so I saved $15 today for Hello Honey! It's my first time playing and I decided the funds will go into a $2K savings challenge I just started!
Yes!! Every Sunday- be ready! You’re going to save save save - you’ll be at 2k in no time. Someone else just let me know they saved $1800 on the tracker we just completed! 🙌
Hello honey got $2 today. A couple weeks ago I lower my Netflix bill to $6.99 my daughter said to create a kids profile and anything pg 13 no ads. There isn’t many ads so I just watch on my own profile. Enjoyed watching your video!
Happy Sunday! I saved $30 with HH this week. I'm going to be eliminating my saved cards. I'm too lazy to go get my wallet everytime I get comfy, so not having the ability to just "click" to buy it when perusing Amazon and Etsy will help me out the most!😂
Hi Jenn I saved $12 with Hello Honey today. I’m going to try #5 picture of a goal with my spending card… this week I will be on vacation but it may help me to not spend my whole travel budget on my trip. Thanks so much.❤ Have a great week.
❤ Hi Jenn, and April ❤ 0:38 Yep, I look forward to implementing your suggestions on how to look at saving money with a fresh perspective. 4:12 A new mindset. Yep. I think I will change the way I call these days. Instead of "No Spend Days" I will now refer to them as "Save Days." Yep. Saying no to something means I am saying yes to the bigger picture, and my goals. 20:20 Great job staying within your grocery budget even with 2 more mouths to feed for the week. (I'm glad you had time with at least 2 of your children. I hope your 2 in Puerto Rico didn't suffer damage from the storm.
Love your tips to adjust our thinking about money, budgeting and spending. Many times we do NOT tell ourselves no which may be why we do NOT like other people telling us no. "No" is very powerful.
Hey Jenn! $6 saved for Hello Honey and I round up my budget numbers and the difference goes to my emergency fund so I will continue to do that. Have a great week 😊
I am new here! Thank you for amazing videos, I feel like watching tv show with fun activities 🎉 Will be printing out Want it-save it , photos for sinking fund envelopes and challenge sheets for savings 😇 started again on zero based budget in August (stopped in April) 🙈
Love the video I'm doing the Roundup but I suggest with you when you do your mortgage pay them the amount the minimum amount and wait a week to sit in the other 60 something it'll go towards your principal and they can't double dip on the interest that goes for anybody who's using credit cards too
Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video! My mortgage online payment portal actually has a spot to add in just for extra principal payments, which makes it easy for me.
Love the video, glad the 4th was great and kids are safe. Saved $15 with Hello Honey I am really bad at remembering the items once they ghosted 😂 Setting fall goals starting August. I need to tighten the belt for many reasons. I know I can do it again because you keep me motivated 🐝❤🐝
A lot of great advice and I liked the mini challenge as I have a online inpulse problem so deleteing payment info is just up my ally. I saved 10 in this weeks Hello Honey and that I am very happy with.
Another video with great tips. This week I saved $6; I definitely will look into that antenna and I paused my Hulu subscription and honestly didn’t miss it. I love the idea of the photo as motivation for spending.
$50 in HH today. Some people do no spends for specific categories that are a problem for them instead of just a general no spend. I did a no spend once for a few months. I figured out I wasn't overspending we were just broke 😂🤣😂🤣
HI Jenn, I saved $6 for HH this week. I stopped two subscriptions last week and we will see if we will miss them. I think I am going with the delete my online spending credit card information. I am an online spender and I really think this will help. I also, decided to change my notifications on my FB group (boutique clothing) to highlights instead of all. I am hoping with not receiving all notfications and getting the distractions of wanting to inpulse buy, will help me spend less. Again, thank you sooo much for all your fun ideas, tricks and tips in helping us all on our budgeting journeys. I sure do appreciate it! 🖤
Oh the boutique clothing. I hear that. I had one that was next to my hair salon in CA. You had to walk through it to get the hair salon - sneaky sneaky!!! And now, I just found another amazing one!! Trouble trouble.
Hey Jenn. I saved $18 for Hello Honey today but rounded up to $20. I’m going to do #4 for this week challenge. My total for Hello Honey is $460. I use HH savings to fund my emergency fund.
I think I’m more like you. It’s surprising but a lot of people just buy it anyway- it could be pressure from someone they are shopping with or maybe they just want item that badly. Probably a lot of reasons.
Thankyou for the video today I’m so happy you had a good time with your family what a blessing I will be deleting my card information from my Apple Pay for the week
😊Hello Honey! Saved $18, so rounded up to $20. 1) did an electronic clean out for the upcoming College semester so cleared out "saved debit cards" due to a payment error with a bill. 2) 2 years ago we dropped cable and opted for the box like your new one for local channels. Hubby agreed since he is the reason we have it, Netflix comes out of his monthly envelope. 3) Since I failed the dining out challenge that week do to medical issue (Hubby and multiple kidney stones plus surgery). We haven't done take out or dine in 7 of the 9 days of July. Glad you had time with the kids. Hug the Puppers! Really hoping you will put your savings challenges dashboards into your shop in the future, love the style and look of them.
Hi Pat! You are definitely a level up with your finances- you got this down! 🙌 I did add custom vellum dashboards today in the shop. I can make some like mine, too. A few of you really like them so I will work on that. 💛
I saved 10 dollars in Hello Honey. I actually cancelled cable and two subscriptions about two months ago. So now we are down to just internet and three subscriptions that we use all the time. We save a lot of money doing this but it was not easy getting the hubby on board however with the savings we have decided to split the savings between us for one month so we can have some blow money since we don't usually get that in our budget yet
My new problem since I started working part-time in May is starting up for my emergency fund - ( No spend ). I told myself add $10-$20 per week for 26 or 52 weeks should help me out a bit !!!
Also, I have always rounded up my budget numbers but never thought about adding that amount to my principle payment on my mortgage so that is what I will do going forward. That is $17 added to the principle each month
Good morning! What a nice way to wake up, new video! I'm glad to got to spend time with 2 kids. Are the 2 in PR safe? For last week's MPC, I don't have cable and had already canceled my subscriptions so I challenged myself with my online books. Instead of buying the 5 I had in my cart, I reread the books in the series I already had. This week I am going to delete my saved payment info, bad online spending. I haven't figured out to balance the budget for Sinking Funds: my goal amount and how long to save for to get my averaged amount. I think I will start putting $5 in each, not sure yet. Any suggestions? I started No Spend in May. For May & June, I had more spend days so i wasn't putting a lot away. For July, I changed it to Spend days and have only had 3 spend days so far lol. Cash stuffing has helped my grocery budget. When i went with a list & my card, I way overspent. With a list & my cash, under budget! I round up the price of each item. Have an amazing week Hive!

Can so relate. Usually something goes down and out. I’m actually procrastinating about budgeting this month (which I know just makes it worse.) Ugh.
It's okay to adjust it. My summers hits hard and I reassess for fall starting in August

I saved $10 with Hello honey today and it's my first completed Hello Honey challenge 🎉
Very cool! I’m so happy you finished one out! 🤩

@@2SisterBees HaHa... tell him that he needs to pick a main thing. Just 1 a month...🤣🤣🤣

"No" is very powerful.
I know I don’t like being told no - that’s for sure! 😅
Where can I get the Athena?
Hey Jenn! $6 saved for Hello Honey and I round up my budget numbers and the difference goes to my emergency fund so I will continue to do that. Have a great week 😊
I like that one, too. I already know that I won’t stop with the mortgage- I’ll probably start rounding everything up! 😂😂
I would say go for it and you will be surprised how quickly it adds up. I am doing the penny challenge for my checking account buffer.
I am new here! Thank you for amazing videos, I feel like watching tv show with fun activities 🎉 Will be printing out Want it-save it , photos for sinking fund envelopes and challenge sheets for savings 😇 started again on zero based budget in August (stopped in April) 🙈
I like the suggestion of How much is too much! I will do that one
I like that one, too. Since I’m stuck in 2001 pricing - I will never buy anything with that rule ! 😂
Impulse buy list is beautiful ❤ thank you!

A lot of great advice and I liked the mini challenge as I have a online inpulse problem so deleteing payment info is just up my ally. I saved 10 in this weeks Hello Honey and that I am very happy with.
I think online is what most struggle with now. They make it SO easy. One click shopping. 🤦♀️
I’m so glad that you are willing to try. 💛
I need this see it, like it, want it! I am definitely an impulse shopper.
I think A LOT of people are - it’s so hard with these phones, access 24/7.
The game definitely has a way of helping! 💛💛💛
Hello, saved 20.00 today, and I really need to do that rounding up on the bills, thank you
I am actually excited to send my round up payment on August 1st- I’m ready!! 😂
It may be too late, but I saved $30 for H.H. this week... 6 correct.
yes Jenn, give us whiplash while you count your money! 😂😂😂 i saved $15 this week for HH
Hahaaa! This made me lol!
I asked Jason - is this too much when I was editing and he was like, “Noooo” so it’s his fault we all have whiplash. 😂😂😂
@@2SisterBees noo i loved it 😂 shout out to Jason (and you, of course!)
