When we shot this video, both vacuums were within $10 of each other. These are both canister style vacuums with a replaceable bag. That means the have excellent HEPA filtration and require minimal maintenance. The air in your home will be cleaner after vacuuming.

When you first made the video about the kenmore 600, I said I would try it out for my cleaning company. I bought 2 of the vacuums to let everyone try it out. Months have passed by. At first, nobody liked that they had to drag it around, because they were used to the backpacks, but the 600 just does such a great job! Especially on carpet, our clients have noticed the difference as well.
I wish Kenmore 600 was made into a backpack. It would be the perfect vacuum lol
Glad it’s working out for you!
@@vacuumnerds thanks for the recommendation!
There's a new vacuum the Prolux X8 Elite that is a backpack vacuum with bags and a carpet powerhead. They have a bagless backpack vacuum the Prolux 2.0 Commercial Bagless Backpack Vacuum Commercial Power Nozzle Kit which also has a carpet powerhead.
@@kc5077 kc...you're amazing. Thanks so much! I'm going to look into it. How do you know about it if I may ask?
Update. Both of my K 600 vacs crapped out about a month ago. All in all, they both lasted about 5/6 months. The issues were with the power cord. The difference is that we use it commercially, so I don't think the same will happen to you if you buy it for your personal home.
Also, if you have a pet, the pet attachment of the kenmore just really great! I wish the vacs lasted longer, but they're just not meant to be abused by cleaning companies lol
Great video, excellent analysis.
Glad it was helpful!
Next time, try a Miele C1 Cat And Dog. I love mine.
Well unlike kenmore, you can get mieles custom, so you can get turbo carpet head, power head, hard floor, c1 c2 c3, premiums low ends, kenmore is okay but I would prefer Miele
I am disabled, so a non-negotiable for me is being able to power the unit from the handle. Otherwise, I am constantly walking back and forth to the canister every time I need to pause the unit. It is an invaluable feature if you are vacuuming up on a ladder (e.g., air vents) with the canister on the floor and out of arm’s reach. Kenmore was the only brand I could find with that feature unless I could afford the $1,500 price tag for the top-of-the-line Miele, which I could not. And that was 5+ years ago. No telling how much it would cost me now. 😕
I definitely prefer the Kenmore's handle switch.
I like this approach a one to one between a full complete machine vs a more easy one. Same price but different manufacturer, quality no comments, thanks for this nice video. Miele it’s light but it’s not ok for carpets. Also thanks to show the stick vacuums that are not good in carpets, I mean you can clean with it but agree with you it can be better. So here it’s for cleaning servicing and Kenmore wins still it’s heavier (yes it matters) and the other it’s lighter. Just for cleaning Kenmore should be enough. Some day I will buy a Kenmore I saw this machines at other channel that no longer stream content but he use to show old Kenmore and I like it.
Thanks for the comment
We previously owned 2 high end Miele vacuums, and neither lasted more than 5 years battling fur from our 2 Samoyeds. The motor in the attachment head inevitably burnt out even though we frequently manually removed the fur from the agitator bristles. We gave up and replaced it with a Panasonic canister vacuum, which lasted about 7~8 years, but only cost a fraction of the $1k+ Miele. For the last 10 years, we've been using a Dyson Animal, and it has been a reliable powerhouse. However, it's now time for a new vacuum, and we'll probably try out this Kenmore.
Thanks for the insight. I know there are a lot of Miele diehards, but I can't justify the price in my mind. The equivlant Miele to the Kenmore 600 series is 3X the price. That's absurd to me.
I get this question a bunch and think both types have their place. The Miele canisters are easier to service for sure and of better quality, but perhaps my most controversial opinion is that I think the new Kenmore power nozzles are better than the Miele power nozzles. The Kenmore nozzles clean just as well, are easier to service, and are incredibly reliable partly due to their simplicity.
When you said that the Miele has an adjustable power dial, I think you forgot about the power slider controller on the Kenmore.
I just did a video and included it! ruclips.net/video/PDNSwYC9iOk/видео.html
Thank you for letting me know!
This is the video I needed a few days ago!! 😭 I ended up spending more for the ultra plush version even though I hate the color (and love the blue!) and now as far as I can tell, the only difference is the led lights. ??? Bummer. I haven't even opened it yet so I may just return it for the 600 because while lights are nice, they're not that big of a deal.
Any idea whether the maroon/burgundy ultra plush has anything else that may make it worth keeping?
Thanks for the great video! Even if I did find it later than I would've liked!
I don’t have any info on the colors, but the head on the plush adapts to carpet height and is easier to push and pull across carpet.
I almost bought a Miele but the absence of the roller brush kept me at bay. This video made the decision for me. 600 arrives Wed. 😎
Big mistake.
@@zarbon700why is it a mistake? I need a vacuum cleaner and I was about to order one and I saw this comment 🤷🏼♂️
@@dkanetracyMiele has a good reputation for being reliable. They also make a Miele that had a powered head like the kenmore
can you do a Top Bagged Vaccums video?
Great suggestion
Yay! Was hoping to see a video about Miele! I have the Classic C1 and I love it! I have a small house with no carpet so it is perfect for my needs. It's my primary vacuum (Sunday vacuuming) and I just purchased the Laresar Elite 3 for my quick mid-week vacuuming (replacing a cordless Electrolux that was slowly dying).
Thanks so much for all the insight, I really enjoy your videos!
Glad you enjoyed it! The C1 Classic is a great vacuum.
The miele is really expensive in the US for some reason, in the EU you can get the miele C1 for 150€, the C3 for under 300€ and the c3 cat and dog for 400€
Wow - I had no idea
I bought my c3 cat and dog for €275
I'm not sure if you going to read this but can you do a flour test by putting flour on the floor and covering it with a rug and see which vacuum can suck it up through the rug
Interesting idea, but it's not a real world test. Appreciate the suggestion!
I have the Miele 3 that has a little more features and hid away storage and with the better head and with the cat dog brush it is very good. I also have the gen5 detect and still have my Dyson animal that still does a great job after 7 years! Yes I am a vacuum nut! I have a bissel pet upright and my Kirby. I little stick vac from the devil! And a few hand vacs. All of them have pros and cons. It’s a matter of what you have at home. I have half and half carpet and wood floors. I like them all depending on what I am doing. I need to stop buying vacs! lol 😆
Sounds like you're a vacuum nerd!
They are both good for their respective price. My C1 homecare which was $799 is definitely going to last longer than the kenmore but for the kenmores price you cannot go wrong.
The Miele is an excellent vacuum, but you do pay up front for the reliability
I suggest comparing the 600 Series to a Miele that is comparable in features to the 600. The C1 vacs are not. They are not sealed, and they do not have a power nozzle. The comparable version is $900-$1100 more. The four main reasons I jumped for a Miele C3 is because I got a 10 year warranty on it, I really liked the solid build quality, it had a much better hard floor tool, the Miele HEPA filter capture particles much smaller than ordinary HEPA filters do. I also wanted it to be a fully sealed system, have the highest suction and airflow available in a canister. I was using my vac at the time for an hour every single day and that’s almost commercial-level use, so warranty and build quality were paramount. The 600 Series is close in suction, features, and carpet cleaning performance. What I don’t like about the C3: the hose doesn’t swivel 360 degrees around the main body, it doesn’t have all tools on board (not the turbo tool), the price (especially of power nozzle models), the suction controls are foot operated instead of handle controlled. There are two C3’s available with suction handle controls, but they are way more expensive than the entry level C3 models with mostly the same features.
Appreciate the suggestion
So you have to spend a thousand dollars for a comparable vacuum to the 600? Yeshh...seems the 600 is the better deal if you're trying to save money and have a good performing vacuum at the same time. Wonder if Kenmore consumables (bags, attachments, belts, and filters) are cheaper than Miele?
@@DiscretesignalsThe reason why some people do not buy Kenmore canister vacuums is because of the bags not having a gasket which entirely defeats the point of a bagged vacuum which means that it will not last nearly as long as a Miele vacuum. You also do not need to spring for the Miele c3 the c1 is just as good because they take the same bags and have the same motor and the post exhaust is still sealed and you can still get a hepa filter for the c1 classic. Miele vaccuums are rated to last a minimum of 1000 running hours or 20 years. The Miele c3 and c1 have the same suction power as each other.
@@DiscretesignalsIf you were looking at a budget vacuum that will actually last get a Hoover wind tunnel max or Hoover wind tunnel complete. The bags and accessories are the same cost as the Kenmore ones. The Hoovers bags are also way larger than the Kenmore bags
do you have a bissell powerforce helix?
I don't. It's a Walmart exclusive and it's $59 and the build quality is pretty low. There's no HEPA filter. For another $100 you can get a Shark Navigator which is vastly superior in every respect and has a proper HEPA filter.
“Me-lerr” I’m in UK and Miele are probably cheaper here than the US/ Canada. I have just bought the C2 compact Cat + Dog £239.
Yes, I think they are probably cheaper in the UK/EU.
I have a power head on c3 . Cleans very well..
Like to the power head review for both units.
Still great video!
Thanks. I was comparing these two based on price. A Miele with comparable tools is roughly 3x the price of the Kenmore.
As a vacuum cleaner collector who has sold many different models of the years including Mile I had to mention that your review should have pitted the Kenmore against a miele with a Power nozzle. I understand that you basing this video on price. However should someone want the better cleaning machine all around the first Miele model that offers a PN will out clean the Kenmore in a heartbeat. In addition the miele is much quieter including the PN. The Miele is also compared with Sebo, Aerus Lux platinum and Miele in terms of airflow and filtration. Don't get me wrong Kenmore was and still is an excellent vacuum cleaner. It's worth every penny. I guess my point is that you should have put an miele with a PN against the Kenmore. That might justify the difference in price. Otherwise a great video comparison. Again just my opinion. Side note, I have used or owned almost ever vacuum cleaner since the beginning of vacuum cleaners. I have been a collector for more that 50 years.
Who has your attention when it comes to canister vacs? Features such as power cord length, hose length, accessories quality, suction in water column/the real world, filters/type, noise and value are the main things we look for. Our use in vacs is a good upright for carpets and a good canister for the rest such as hard floors, baseboards, window sills, screens, crevice's, engraved furniture and so forth.
Appreciate your input! The Mieles with the power nozzle are about 2-3x the price of the Kenmore. I don't think most people are crossing shopping such a wide price disparity.
My concerns mostly focus on performance, suction, cost of replacing bags vs expensive proprietary "elements". A good hose length and power cord. The brush attachment for hard floors and upholstery are important for quality and for replacements.
Where’s Ryan ?
Ryan's going to be an infrequent guest. He's a full time health coach now!
Cool!
The Miele hardwood floor brush is so bad, LOL. In terms of maneuverability and pickup, it's disappointing. As if Miele does this on purpose to force you to buy their premium brush. I like Miele for its weight, simplicity, and noise level. It's always one of the best canister vacuums on the market, but they need to work on the brushes.
At about 3x the price you get similar features to the Kenmore. It's a great vacuum, but the price is super premium too.
Recently got the kenmore. I love it, and it-unlike my dyson- is easy to use on shag carpet
I would agree. Floor brushes and the upholstery brush's must have very dense hairs and stiff to do the job best. Most of todays vacs come with toys, almost useless thin brushes that fold over way too easy.
Dude why are you comparing a straight auction machine with an electric nozzle machine. A C1 with the Wesselwerx head would wipe the floor with kenmore.
jeez this video got a lot of comments
Seems that way!
Maintenance!!!! Its very important
Do you like bagless?
kenmore probally won but miele c1 is cheaper
Details are in the video 😉
Wrong
The Miele is a superior vaccuum in every single way to the Kenmore except for features.
Get the Miele instead of the Kenmore canister. The Kenmore vacuum doesn't have a gasket on the bags that you buy for it meaning that the vacuum is only going to last 2 years but that miele vacuum will last 20 years easily and it is made in Germany. The miele c1 classic is only 150$ more than that Kenmore vacuum and the motor is way stronger and will last way longer than the Kenmore. The Miele motor is rated for a minimum running time of 1000 hours. If you want a vacuum that will actually last for many years to come and if you do not like that the vacuum does not have a powered brush roll for carpet get the miele c1 classic cat and dog it is a better vacuum in every single way compared to the Kenmore vacuum.
My Kenmore canister lasted 20 years before I gave it away finally. To equal the features and tools of the Kenmore, you'd have to spend about $900 on a higher end Miele. I don't think most people will go that route.
I'm seeing Miele vac's with Made In China on them.
Kenmore is confusing these days with Sears now pretty much out of the business. Did another company take over Kenmore appliances and are they continuing to keep the same quality as Kenmore had for decades??
Kenmore is now owned by Transformco which acquired Sears. The quality of the vacuums seems very similar to me. I owned a Kenmore canister for 20 years that looks nearly identical to the ones I've tested. They seem well constructed, and Consumers Reports rates them highly for reliability and customer satisfaction.
The big issue with us is repairs and parts availability. No point in going with a no parts availability in 5 to 10 years. Decent machines will last and likely need a couple of proprietary parts.
I usually hear it pronounced ME-Luh
My German skills are 0/10
Nooo I just bought the kenmore 😂
