- So from time to time I do get asked for vlog style videos and I have done them in the past (Castleton & York). I have recently visited Llechwedd Slate Glamping 🏔⛺️ up on the mountain tops of Snowdonia in North Wales 🏴 and have decided to film my 2 day stay there. The location is very secluded and off grid and if you like disconnecting from the world every now and then (I'm sure we all do) then this will be the place for you! its a back to basics.. fire, views and a nature kind of place but totally peaceful and great for some headspace.
Video's like this break up the channel and it gives you all a little bit of insight into what I get up to when I'm not filming my Vlogumentaries. I know it's not everyones cuppa tea but I like to put them on the channel as some of you might like to visit these kinds of places? And if you can't get out at least it might feel like you have just for that short time.
So anyway, I will be dropping this video on Friday so keep your eyes out for it, and if its not for you then I'll see you in the next Video!
Take care everyone & as always thanks for the support! - D.M ✌️🐒

Loved it! The three of you had a great break and it was a pleasure to watch. The idea of having the warmth of the wood fire, beer, the sound of the rain on the roof and of course the good company... can't beat it!
Thanks for watching Padraic! Yeah it’s mad how the simplistically is always the key to happiness. What more could you ask for. Thanks for watch mate, take care 🙌🏼🍺
That was great DM. Thanks for bringing us along on your wet weekend in Wales. I'm amazed by your editing skills, even your choice of music was inspired. The use of slow motion and fading set the mood perfectly. Brilliant job mate.
Thanks so much Mike, that's very kind of you. I'm so glad that you enjoyed it, such a beautiful place that ill hopefully be going back to! Thanks once again mate and take care
There is something magical about Wales. We were taken there by a gran and grandad for what I always think of as our first proper holiday.
You are right Phil. It’s a magical place mate, it has a magnetic pull and like many we’ve have some great childhood memories. It never seems to change either. Thanks for watching mate 👍🏼
Liking how you started with the most important thing first.... A brew
haha! its alway top of the list !
Ahhhh, you did look sad at the end, I could tell you were sorry to be leaving such a beautiful location. Snowdonia is spectacular any time of the year - I know the mountains well from my younger days of hiking and climbing. Got me interested in this glamping business now though - extra comfort much appreciated. Happy all three of you had a brill weekend and thanks for sharing. Take care all of you.
Thanks so much Shire. That place was an amazing little break! Just what we needed at the time and something I would definitely recommend 🙌🏼
My mate has his own OFF GRID place in Simmons yat ,just a simple Tarp set up where He has to trek a good way into the forest before he reaches it,no one has ever discovered it to my knowledge n its progressed over the years..
Wow! What a stunning place!! I know Ruth would love it there at night looking up at the stars 😁
And that waterwheel!!😍😍 I certainly think another visit is needed, we need to know its story lol
Glad you had a great time and lovely to see Georgia and Maggie Moo again 🤗💯👍
Lovely dog
Thanks Tyrone :)
Brilliant again. Looks an amazing place full of history and somewhere, as you say, where you can get off the grid for a short time.
Yeah it’s gorgeous mate. really nice for a peaceful break 👍🏼

What a fantastic relaxing place so picturesque poor DM having to trek hundreds of miles for hot dogs 😂🐒

Thank you for coming along with us Anne 🙌🏼⭐️
Great video . What a lovely place. We what to go stay there now . Fab
You guys would love it! So many potential mudlarking areas! I’m sure you could get a few videos out of it 👍🏼 thanks a lot for watching and take care ⭐️
Loved this video, it looks really peaceful out there and you did include a bit of historical content as well. LOL I can relate to your panic attack, it has happened to me many times, it's either food, money or gas. It's okay if it's my buddies and I, but with wife and kids the anxiety turns to 11. For panic cuisine I usually go with smoked sausages and tortillas, easy on a stove or fire.
Thank for watching Paul! It’s was such a beautiful place and full of history too. Haha I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt like that! 😂 sausages and tortillas are going to be with me next time that’s for sure 😂😂 thanks once again buddy and take care 👍🏼🙌🏼
I loved your vlog, so funny and it looked like all 3 of you had a fantastic time :) the off grid accommodation looked beautiful, did you manage to skywatch ? Maggie is hilarious, so sweet. It looked so cozy and the surrounding very beautiful. Tfs ❣🔴🟡🟢
Aww thanks so much Ruth! We had an amazing time and a place I would definitely go back. I kept thinking that Mr. Ranks would have took inspiration from that and created some artwork from it given it was mine related ⛏. Haha Maggie is amazing isn’t she. She’s currently doing what she does best right now....sleeping haha she’s still recovering from the walk😂 thanks for watching and take care Ruth x
That dog is so adorable🥺🥺🥺🥺

Wow! All the way from USA! I’m so great full that you’ve watched it! Thank you so much John! Take care mate 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 🙌🏼
Absolutely loved this 💕 what a fantastic place ... I hope they give you a free visit because this is the best advert they could have! Really wonderful seeing it all and you’re inspiring me to go. Mags is just *ACE* 😍💕🐾. There should definitely be a Daft Monkey and Mags show! Hilarious filming of you ‘returning from the hunt’ dragging your kill of hotdogs and buns 😂. Love everything you do and this has been wonderful to watch. Wondered if that little room under the bridge would have been something to do with goods or n/out for the slate mine with it being next to the toad, acting as a little hut/shelter for a man? Really enjoyed watching this 😍 #goMags x

Was great video 👍🏻
@@ianmaddams9577 I was actually considering moving to north wales not to long ago…do you have any recommendations mate?
@@daftmonkey7296 I lived near a place called Tremadog. The village was tiny I lived in called Garndolbenmean
I worked as an instructor at an activity centre many yrs ago. Some of the best times of my life👍🏻 I went back to for a wkend with my wife to see how it’s changed. The centre has shut down now it was originally the mill for a place called Brynkir hall. In the cwm pennant valley . The ruins of the hall are on the site of the cwm pennant activity centre where I worked and is absolutely stunning when you find it . There is stuff online about the hall . All the best mate 👍🏻
@@ianmaddams9577 sounds like it holds fond memories for you Ian. And it looks beautiful, I’ve just checked it out online. Thanks for the message mate! If I got I’ll be sure to Vlog it ✌🏼
Pot noodles, beer and tomato soup, what else do yer need 😂
😂😂 could live off that for the rest of my life haha
I think you’ve found your niche with these last few videos visiting places not just exclusive to Manchester, and digging into the history of the place. A good spooky/murder story in there for good measure too!
Thanks for much Chelsy, Yeah there's so much potential for another video but delving into the dark side of things! Thanks for watching and take care
I'd like to holiday like that with the wife and son but wouldn't even know where to start.... Some tips would be appreciated
How much would it cost for a weekend there and where do I book it.
