At first I thought the S7 and S8 were exactly the same train except that the only difference S7 has 7 carriages whereas the S8 has 8 and that both has air conditioning. Today I realized that another difference is the seating arrangement where one side has seats facing the left or right side whereas the other side has seats facing forward and backward. I was thinking because the metropolitan line is a suburban train/line which is why there are more seats and carriages
While yes, the S7+1 and S8 can be £21.99 separately, but JustTrains should implement a system similar to AP,. If you own the S8, you should be able to get the S7+1 for a reduced price; and vice versa. As you said, Alan, I don't think a full £21.99 for a couple of passenger-view texture changes and a different seating layout is viable.
Those speed controlled signals aren't scripted quite right anyway. The home signals (The very close together red/green signals) before a station will all be green unless there is another train in the platform. They'll clear one by one upon approach to keep the speed of the train right down until the previous train has departed past the starter signal. The same applies to the draw up signals. I bet the lag is because of the scripting on the S8 AI. Perhaps someone with the route could disable it temporarily by renaming the out files and see if the FPS goes up?
Preston Road has repeatedly won best turned out station on the TFL network, must have been a budding gardener station master! Nice to see they have modelled it and the rest of the line so well.
Your right The s8 is only 21 pounds and the s7 plus 1 is 21 pounds aswell but who would pay that just for a change in seating and the same destinations with no district circle and hammersmith and city and we also have the vdl. They said it was a special announcement but it isn't. But if people want the s7 plus 1 they can have it.
I also said on the stream it's a rip off but they said it's not. They should of done jubilee line and 1996 stock and possibly 1995 stock as they are very similar except sounds and the number of carriages
For anyone who has watched it all can you please tell me if the video covers the route to Watford? Travelled that for many years, love to see how it looks.
I think Just Trains have done a great job with this, i love it, few issues i have had is the amount of lag at times and some bugs i find with the S7+1 S8. They really should of bundled the S7+1 with the route and not sold separately.
thanks alan i have got the other london underground as well from TML u can work a round the station on that one and get in and out off the train as well see u next time thanks good vid oh and by the way i use the old 1938 stock
The lags and FPS drops are entirely due to Mark Walker's absolute obsession with placing layer upon layer of excessive 3D trees along the line. The same problem with Chiltern Mainline and London Aylesbury. I get that 3D trees look great but he goes way over the top with them. I've sorted it out on all 3 routes in the editor, with dramatic improvements to lag and stutters.
This route/ train combo has become completely unplayable for me. Every time I get OOM dumps. Strange that I can run any other train on the route and it’s ok. And I can also run the the s7+1 on any other route. As soon as I try to run the s7+1 and Metropolitan line together it crashes. It’s so frustrating 😔
hi ive just brought this add on but i cant move camera view around in cab ive herd a lot of poeple have had the same problem ive tried pressing the right mouse button but no luck im running windows 10 does any on know how to fix this problem by the way great video
Hey, can anyone help. I’ve subscribed to Alan Thompson Sim and downloaded the ECML merge which is great. You need to use the 64 bit version and my train sim keeps keeps crashing in exactly the same place! Fine in 32 bit version on other routes compared to 64 bit version. Anyone else have this issue or got round it? Cheers
@@JBFlytography Other than the passenger view in the two addons they are identical? It seems strange that one is required for Metropolitan line and a separate version is required for the LUL on the Chiltern routes. Does one have a different number of toilets per set than the other?
@Volvo B10M well neither have toilets. S7s were 7 car underground trains with Seats facing forward (or backwards depending on direction of travel) these had an extra carriage added were then classed as S7+1 as opposed to as S8 which is an 8 car train with seating parallel to the windows for higher capacity. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Underground_S7_and_S8_Stock
@@JBFlytography I don't get why they have to be two different addons as opposed to one covering both S7 & S8 which works with both Metropolitan line and Chiltern/Aylesbury when they each cost as much as a full route. Don't they have to have toilets to pass PSVAR next year?
Some Met drivers ( me included ) dont like driving the S7+1 Stock! There are only 2 in the fleet! The main reason being you dont hear an audible click from the CSDE ( correct side door opening ) relay, when the train enters the berthing zone at a platform headwall! They also have different software and notification noises!
I work for London Underground. Best career move I ever made! At almost 29 years of age, I have a long career ahead of me.
Woopie doo do you want a brownie point?
Coronavirus: Not anymore >:)

I can definitely see more underground trains and routes judging by the detail on the tunnels and track etc amazing!
I had a feeling Alan would trip the Approach signals. I did this many times before I figured out how they work, it is definitely a learning curve.
If there is one thing to learn from this video it’s that you should always be aware of what your next signal aspect is despite it not being in the HUD
Cheers mate yeah I never claim to be a pro especially with LU stock and routes
It is really the most perfect route and car I have ever seen. Really worth it. If you want to be loco pilot, it is helpful a little bit.
Just trains should add the Reading-Taunton line as either a route on its own or an extension to Western Mainlines.
I agree with that it should be added to the western main lines extension
Kevin JG then I can do PAD-PNZ without taking 6 hours to complete it 😂😂
100% agree they should add that extension, a part of the route already exists in their south Western expressways route.
Nice video Alan!
It should be in TSW, but we’re never gonna see an editor for TSW.....
eating your words now?
There is a editor now

I heard that alan. Dirty mouth. Soap required.

Looks amazing will deffo get this
Trust The Brakes on the Train they are very good.
You Don't need to break until the signal before the Station.
Who else absentmindedly clicked on the 'Good Morning Driver' box to close it and paused the video?
Where they play the football oh s***
🤣🤣🤣

I hope to at some point see the entire London underground network included.
Yh circle line and city lines

Could you do a video on the ECML merge driving an MTU class 43 HST from kings cross-York not calling at Peterbourgh
The busses are the wrong way around in Harrow On the hill 😂
yh ik itt's so funny hlow they are the wrog way round it's lik a bus driving backwords
Awesome! Someone needs to make an A Stock now...
Which GPU is fine to play this map? With GTX1060 3GB I get maximum 25 fps :(

Is the stop markers not the drivers side window?
Hi Alan i want to to learn how to use whats called Tunnel Occlusion Volume it makes the inside of the tunnel darker but i was not sure how it works
Help! I am only going 10 MPH, why is that??
You need to be in tripcock mode, if you go into forward that's part of restricted manual mode which only gives a max of 10mph
When the doors close, the beeping as well as the sound when the doors close is similar to what you hear in real life
Do you run train sim on top settings or a few down from best?
Alan. You know my friend DanH actually coded this route!
cool

No AI Jubilee ?
So for a total Newbie to train sims to play this seems expensive with all the additional DLC's required - would I be correct in this?? Cheers Rob
Yep it can get expensive
hi is this an addon .THANKS
What computers do you suggest? My one can run it but is just laggy
What is wrong with the S7 Pricing? I thought the route + S7 bundle was quite good value. Equates to getting the S7 for £10.
Indeed in bundle it was fine if the £10er for a pass view is an option
Hello Alan
WTF 50€ for the route plus train? As nice as it looks but that kind of money it's not worth for me.
What's the 7 + 1?

What is the difference between the S7+1 and the S8 (not from London so IDK) and which one is the one that is worth buying?
Volvo B10M 24:11 it tells you in the video👍🏼
Pretty much just the interior being different from what I understand.
