Nicely done video! I came across your channel when I was searching for videos about growing barley. After watching the video you made about growing barley fodder, I clicked on your channel to see what else you might have available... and your most recent video (this one), appeared! This afternoon, this exact same incubator was delivered to my house! I just ordered it and plan to use it to create a sustainable egg laying flock! We’re so glad that you have enjoyed our videos. What incredible timing with this video! We have another two dozen eggs at day 12 in the incubator right now. Last night they were candled and appear healthy! We hope you’re as pleased with your results as we have been with ours.
Note: watch the clip into the turn motor: you may not notice you're not turning, as your grid is out of the clip. Observe EVERY day for stupidity, not 3 times in a hatch. What's fabulous about the 24 or 48 is the turner is on a separate power cord. I've had incub. crash their turning and you can't repair it: it's in the same software board and ALL the other gear.
That was very interesting. Would not have known all that goes into hatching chickens. I know the answer to your question, but will let someone else give their opinion!
Borotto 24 is my base incubator, almost impossible to NOT hatch if your eggs are fertile. I just received a Lumia 16, it's sister bator, to do hatchout, as the window is an open top. That frees up my 24 after 17/18 days for another hatch, and keep clean.
I'm about to buy a new incubator and am considering this one. Is there a way to see the humidity reading on the unit?
This unit doesn’t have a humidity gauge, but we’ve had excellent hatch rates by following the manufacturer instructions.
@@RigginFarm Not included because it doesn't need it. I've seen people not like that and put in a gauge anyway, unnecessarily. lol

I have a borotto 24 and the temperature on the hatching is 97.4 is this why I am only getting a 45 percent hatching rate?
That’s a possibility. We get 21-24 out of 24 every time.
did you candle the eggs for fertility and development? what's ambient humidity in your area? these units are a no-brainer and usually work in spite of any issues. if the egg is fertile, the incub. will hatch it.
Very disappointed in my Borotto Real 49. Also equipped with Shiro automatic humidifier, out of 49 eggs, sourced from 3 different farms, 3 chicks hatched. Very poor performance.
We’ve incubated 4 times now, and the worst hatch rate was 21 out of 24. That was likely due to less than optimal eggs going into it. Twice 23 out of 24 eggs hatched.
@@RigginFarm guess you’re lucky then because following the instructions to the letter hasn’t worked for me.
@@Hooftimmer Probably the humidifier because you can see in the video that he doesn't use one. I've heard the additional humidifier pours out way too much water, so I'm going to forego the $100 extra charge and go without.
