Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.

Yeaaaaa it’s that time of year again!!!! Love it! When you can go to a lake and explore! Pike fishing is the best! Getting a kayak this year so hopefully land some from the boat too 👍🏻🐊

They haven't given the size of the treble hook, the weight of the ball, the length of the wire trace, or the float size. 'precise'??? And this is supposed to be for beginners?!

Great advice on returning pike there. I honestly didn't know they could be so fragile so before I go fish I want to fully research first. Thank you.

Are you using a single treble through the top of the roach? Could you post everything needed to buy and make this float rig?

  • @alexbacon9789

Good video, thanks. I was wondering if the float set-up you used there would be suitable for large, natural waters where I would be fishing in depths of around 25 feet?

I'm just starting out Piking again since i was a kid (40 years ago) and have been watching all these videos for tackle, rigs and kit .. but the one thing I cannot find is where to fish. I'm looking for a day ticket type, still water, where i can have space to set up and experiment with ledgering and floating. A fishery that isn't too demanding with weed/trees/underwater obstacles etc where I can gain confidence setting up and maybe even catch a couple. I'm 15 Miles East of Birmingham (Atherstone) so anywhere around Nuneaton, Coventry, Hinkley, Tamworth or Leicester area would be good - can anyone help please? Thanks

I have ordered bait from Amazon. But in the meantime I'll have to buy from Tesco. What should I use? Mackeral? Sardines any use?

So many times I've gone to reposition my bait and realised there was a pike with the thing in its mouth.

  • @merlin7654

My tactics - sprat, short wire trace, on the bottom with a Swan shot, float slightly over depth to allow for pike to run, no need for anything fancy or rigs, if a pikes hungry it'll take it. Pretty easy to catch them and requires no skill.
Caught numerous 25-32lbs on rivers close to the margin, literally a few inches from the bank.
Nothing fancy about it and works wonders
