It takes Jew and Gentile to birth the new family. I love this.
@ *martaupward5992* talk about blended family…🇨🇦
If I were Dallas, I would invite you two to be part of the script formation and round table discussions. Just say'n. 😊
I grew up catholic and as a child at church It came to me that I needed to know more about Judaism so I can understand what Jesus was talking about and I still do. Thank you grafted I love watching and learning from you guys. God bless.
Love this discussion, I love the thread that Jews and Gentiles are being bought together as one for the future life in Yeshua. Wow what a kingdom that will be.
I love these round tables, I wish there was a weekly show just like this, and get into different parts of the Bible.
🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Yes, as someone who took the course, I agree Dr Tom is a very good teacher.
I am sorry I missed this live. This was amazing. Thank you for your amazing teaching
Thanks for this. I kept getting interrupted during the livestream, so I just finished watching. I learned from the game. Great insights. Love the longer format as well!
Grafted, I watch you guys on youtube on our TV mostly because I like seeing you up close, so to speak. But I want you to know we do watch you and I really enjoy and take notes alot. Thank you for todays show I really loved it and Sam your eyes closed face is hilarious. Love you Grafted. ❣️🕊👑📖😇
My great great great grandfather was a full blooded Jew. He and his brother made their way to the Americas to escape persecution in Germany long before Hitler. Even though through the generations it's been diluted some I am still so proud of that tie. Jesus Christ gave us gentiles hope where there was no hope, we had nothing until he came into the world. Praise God for his love 💕
I've missed your guys! This was so fun! 😊
Thank you all !
The game was also very informative! Love learning from you guys.
I always watch your videos to the end, you guys are hilarious 🤣
Ii happy that it takes both Jews and Gentiles to bring the kingdom into its fulfilment.
It seems like the video issues is fix now. So enjoy!
Thank you so much! I was able to attend the livestream (first time ever!), well after dinner and just before bedtime - watching from the Netherlands.
Bless you guys for all the worthwhile background info - AND the fun 😉
Yes, it's very nice to have the lunch time live stream! In Switzerland and it's the perfect time to follow along during/after dinner and before bedtime😁
People take off in weird practices I have noticed since I got saved in 1978. As far as I know, I'm a gentile, but what's curious to my family is my grandfather spoke Yiddish... I have been attending a Messianic congregation in Deerfield, IL, for 7 years at Adat Hatikvah. I think my Rabbi knows Rabbi Joel Sorbo (?).
I don't do things like cover my head, but most of the women who read out of Torah cover their heads when they read and we have Jews in our congregation who practice what they are comfortable with. I also go to Torah class after serviced on Shabbat.
I love my congregation and feel so blessed.
Rabbi Jacob is an incredible teacher! I've been listening to his messages for the last few years.
I catch the podcast as I'm in Australia.
Amen! Be Who God made you to be! Love it!
You guys got it correct. There many sects of Judaism, many are familiar with the three, Pharisee’s, Sadducees, and Essenes. But there a whole lot more, this according the scholars of Judaism. Thank you for bringing this thought and perspective up in your discussion.
So very informative and helpful! Thank you!
Could please fix the audio on the playback video? I love you guys and was so sorry I could not watch the livestream and was disappointed to find the problem with audio. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into your videos I have watched all of them and most several times. Keep up the good work.
Try hank you guys as always, love this RUclips channel and I always learn so much. I’m enjoying the course and again it’s so educational.
Thank you guys!!
Glad you enjoy it!
7-2-23 1:00 pm. Watching playback in Norman, OK. EXCELLENT ❤!
Some of us stay ALL the way until the end😁
You just answered the very question I asked on another video! LOL Blessings. Great content gents. God Bless what you guys do here. Great work and a great fellowship time too.
As I've watched the series intently and repeatedly, I've wondered from the get go - why didn't the writers of THE CHOSEN choose to use His Hebrew Name, which the meaning of it is completely lost in 'Jesus'? This has made me very sad
Thank you for your comment on Vatican 2
In a few scripture verses, Paul said" Once you were formerly gentiles,,, Ephesians 2:11-18; 1 Corinthians 12:2
Love you all ,thanks fore the teaching
You guys are amazing thank you for all your info from Australia look forward for your next live I missed this one from a gentile ❤
Hey Sam and Tom. Love this! -Dee Anne
Hey, Grafted!
I'm watching the playback, and, for some reason, the audio is very behind. I just wanted to let you know, incase it was something on your end. I enjoy you guys, too, and am eager to hear and see your thoughts, in sync.
God Bless!
It is fixed now. Thanks!
@@Grafted Of course!
@@Grafted,
This was a really well-thought-out video! I really appreciated the analogy you made between transcultural and transgender, because it really helped my idea of how a commonplace Jew would interpret a gentile imitating them. This livestream was goodly linked to your other video: "Why Grafted?", which had similar ideas construed.
I used to be of the mindsets that: (1) Gentile = pagan, and since Jesus is God, and came to the earth as a devout Jew, I didn't want to be a "gentile Christian". And (2): since most of the disciples considered themselves "Christians" and were jewish, messianic Judaism is the "right Christianity".
I feel that through this video, I gained these perspectives: (1) Jesus came as Jewish, because it was understood during the first century that Adonai was above other Gods, and was the "King of the Jews". And (2): being a gentile simply means that your roots are distant from Israel, not that you are pagan. I now understand that it is perfectly acceptable to remain a non-denominational Christian, and a gentile, that loves Jesus.
Sidenote: I know- my first name is Jewish! It's cool how God uses names on different people than we'd expect. Also: Just Abby, not Abigail. 🙃
I strongly disagree with the idea that a Christian feeling led to adopt some Jewish customs is somehow "stealing" Jewish identity. As if anyone can steal someone's identity in that way or "steal" a culture. It's this whole notion of "cultural appropriation" and it's compete nonsense. Societies have always learned from, borrowed from, and influenced each other. And that's a good thing. It's when we insist that people have to stay in the little cultural box that they were born in that societies can no longer understand each other and become aggressive toward anyone "outside". No one is "rejecting who God made them to be" by adopting customs that they enjoy or that bring them closer to God.
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you from South Carolina.
And how did "Miriam" end up becoming the Greek and Latin "Maria"? Same phenomenon : Greeks and later Romans found Hebrew names foreign and difficult to pronounce so they made them sound as Greek or Latin as possible - this happens in all languages!
In some cases there are equivalent names from Hebrew to Greek and Latin. But a lot of Jewish or h Hebrew elements and names were removed in the early periods like 100 to 300 AD that is my understanding of early church history.
Definitely would NOT go to the Chosen for my Biblical Theology period!
Wait a minute! I’m not Jewish but I wear a tallit when I pray. I love it. It seems to help me focus my thoughts and feelings and shuts out distractions. Now I’m talking about at home but not in any church. I’m not trying to be Jewish I just realize I can focus better when I’m wearing the tallit. I’m not trying to steal the Jewish identity. I’m not pretending to be Jewish. I don’t consider wearing a tallit any different than learning Hebrew. If we learn Hebrew or Aramaic does that mean we are trying to steal the Jewish identity? No, it is all about learning and understanding and being in touch with how things were back then and how they are now. So then my next question is, are you talking specifically about wearing the Tzizit on the tallit or are you saying we shouldn’t wear the tallit at well? And does that apply in public or does that apply in private as well?
Hello from Riverside, California.
Is it true that anyone who is not Jewish is a Gentile? I'm saying that anyone can start out as pagan, including secular Jews, based on what Jesus told Nicodemus. He said all must be born again, not just Gentiles.
Please do this to the round table on episode 8 of season 3!!!
Would you discuss Romans 9-11 at some point? Where Paul says that true Israel is a spiritual Israel.
Jesus stood His ground when he needed to He has done it on this show also, and he will do it again.
Can you guys share your quick thoughts on what Isaiah 56:6-8 is talking about? Thanks.
"from" and "of" are basically synonyms, and in a number of romance languages there is only one word for both.
Hello from Summerville, South Carolina
Waiting for live steam....upstate NY??
Watching in Wisconsin!
My question guys would be about the convo about Veronica and the Hem of His garment being the tassels. Are you saying it would not have been on their tunics or would not have been discussed in this way? Im a bit confused...
Restoration of the northern kingdom (10 northern tribes that were 'divorced') is a huge part. Gentiles were always welcome. Rahab is a great example. Same as those 'sojourners' who aligned themselves with Israel.
Judah is but one tribe.
Absolutely
Here is something that you might find interesting. My biological father was Sicilian. My adoptive father was English. My mother is a Hinze 57. So, I am biologically half Sicilian and half of a dozen other things. I have a great love for 2 things in my life. Writing and the English language in particular and cooking. I have a peculiar attraction to Italian food even though I never knew my real father or his family. It is like it is in my blood, pun intended. Sometimes, I don't feel like I belong anywhere. However, I know that Jesus has made me who I am for a reason and that I belong in the family of God and He has given me these gifts to help bring people like me (a mish mash of a lot of things that just does not seem to fit in anywhere) into the glorious revelation of who Jesus Christ is. Thank you for confirming this for me.
I'm here!!!!!!
Watching from IOWA
I'm here!!!!
That's right. These last days it is Jew and Genitle that build the kingdom of God, which means, EVERYONE is welcome to come unto Chrst and be numbered in the House of Israel. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺🧔♀️👑✡️
Yes, let's not mock God by rejecting the unique person He made us to be.
Love your channel! I can’t get any audio while watching on my Roku tv’s RUclips, though other channels play fine. I’ve switched to my iPhone and can get audio that way. Not sure what’s happening.
Same thing happened to me! Audio plays fine on my phone but not on my roku.
It seems to have started with his name Yeshua = Salvation to Jesus.
Also they have weakened His Message.
Praise God! Dallas Jenkins just made a post about the movie The Sound of Freedom! Please, just make one post about child trafficking.
#godschildrenarenotforsale
Don't we see from Jesus' encounter with Zacheus, (a Jewish tax collector), that the problem was not so much in the vocation, but the fact that he was padding his own pocket by collecting extra from his fellow Jews. Look carefully at that account in the gospels. In his repentence, Zacheus promised to repay over and above what he had stolen..and Jesus gave great praise for that. Salvation was bestowed. In the case of Matthew, he was called to be an apostle, so left off being a tax collector.
Hi Grafted family, where can we purchase this book? Amazon currently has it for $151

As a younger viewer, I played Stardew Valley two days ago. 😆
What God hath joined together , let no man put ASUNDER, TO me that means , the Tanach, the Torah , and the B ! Rit Hadassah. We as gentiles have been grafted in, WE were always given place , to be adopted in to God's plan , as the heart of the Hebrews made room for us . Let us RE MEMBER HIM , Messiah is throughout the scriptures, old covenant and new covenant, LET HIM be RE, MEMBERED , PUT HIM BACK TOGETHER , IN WORD AND DEED, ❤🇮🇱 ❤
Is the Rabbinic 613 "instructions" influenced by the pharases? Why the hesitancy? I'm a layman. Help.
I'm wondering what the gentiles are to follow exactly? No tzitzit, no circumcision... what else? Dietary? Feasts and Festivals?
This is an ongoing discussion in our small community so I would love clarification between Messianic Jews and Messianic Gentiles.
Thank y'all in advance! ❤
No sound
So if the Jews are supposed to save all the gentiles, why are they not sharing or testifying or ministering all.?
I have a question . If gentiles are grafted in, then they are Israel. Not Jews or Jewish, but Israel. And if we have no caste system, and we are his people, why would gentiles not wear tzitzit? Isn’t it one set of instructions for all?
Finally worked after 5 minutes
I love the book of Luke too
We know when Moses gave his sermon it says he gave it to the Jewish people and the mixed multitude, so that was in the old testiment, so when did God actually say gentiles couldn't come in, come on gentiles are in the line of Yeshua from the beginning.
I still don’t see why wanting to follow the instructions of God is trying to steal the Jewish identity? I think as we are grafted and adopted into the church that Stephen said started at Mt Sinai we are all to follow the perfect instructions of God and follow Jesus example? This does not necessitate replacement theology but rather recognizing we are the ‘adopted child’ not the natural born. Once I realized ‘law’ really meant instructions I whole heartedly want to follow his wonderful ways but you are saying no? Also I think once we are His we are not longer gentiles. Paul seems to be telling us in Romans Galatians and Ephesians that we are not to be like ‘them’? I really want to understand this. I love you guys and hope you can help me to understand in a way i can see. Thank you
You are right. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Yes, Torah means "instruction" but even within the Torah, there are instructions given to different people - Levites, the High Priest, women, and the outsider in their midst (aka Gentiles) - to name a few. Just because they have different instructions doesn't mean they are any less part of GOD's family or better or worse than anyone else. This idea remains in the New Covenant. Gentiles (and Jewish people) are to turn away from sin toward GOD when believing in Yeshua. The passage you mentioned from Galatians 3 where Paul says there is neither Jew nor Greek is talking about status. He also says there are neither male nor female in the same verse. I think we can all agree that believes in Yeshua are still distinctly male and female. The same applies with Jew and Gentile. When we believe in Yeshua, we are all of equal status but we have distinctions and GOD desires us to worship Him as those distinct people. If the goal were for everyone to be Jewish, the outcome of the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15 would have been very different! There's a lot to this topic but hopefully this helps clarify a little bit!
@@Grafted If the goal after the Acts 15 council was to set forth different commands for Jews and Gentiles within the communities of believers then I find the apostolic letters from Paul, Peter, James, Revelation, 1-3 John etc. to be quite inadequate in helping me understand those things. Can you tell me where else I can go to find a complete list of distinctive commands for Jewish believers and a distinct list of commands for Gentile believers?
Do you mind if i continue this? I don’t mean to be obstinate but rather I would really like to clarify in my mind. I understood at the acts 15 council gentiles were given 4 torah commands to keep (which goes against what I was taught about not needing to obey the laws) and then they said Moses is taught everywhere. I thot this meant that they were to start with these 4 laws and then as they learned more they could apply the rest in order to walk in Holiness and be alight to the world. We decided, because so many ppl disagreed to basically do our own thing and starting with keeping the 10 words or instructions we would also do what Jesus did as He was our example. So we eat what God has put aside for us to eat (thinking He set aside this as food even with Noah before the Jews?) and keeping the instructions that applied to us as a woman and man that could be done without the temple or all that. The thing is since we started doing this keeping sabbath etc two things have happened one is that my husband and I have changed and our relationship and time of study has been so very blessed , the second is we have experienced ‘very’ light persecution (for lack of better word). We have been accused of becoming Jewish and legalistic. At the same time more and more friends are coming to our bible studies and of course this is one the reasons I need to understand. I am thinking the reason the country is lawless is because the church has become lawless. Why are we so resistant to keeping laws that both the old and new testaments tell us are not to hard to keep? One day I will have to ask our pastor but now asking you is a safer way to go. You seem kind and willing.
I agree with you and that is same way I understand. @wendy
Genesis 49:10 ... the sceptre didn't depart from Judah until Shiloh came. Judah's chief purpose was to remain intact as s lineage so that it could be verified that Yahusha came from the lineage of Israel.
@ 2:13 Salvation is of the Jews ? The Jew of the flesh vs The Jew of the spirit ? Nico was of the flesh? or spirit? He couldn't comprehend Jesus of the spirit ??
I have a different question for you two. Do Messianic Jews believe that mother Mary died a virgin?
Where is the sound?
I am happy is what I wanted to say .......
Am I wrong or does the parable of the workers of the vineyard, speak to this attitude of exclusive or preferred status before Adonai?
What about the lovely people who are Buddhist or Hindu, etc. they have to accept Jesus to come to salvations?
Yes, through grace He died for them, too.
i am. i learn so muh from you.
I have participated in some Jewish celebrations... but only with Jews... not creating my own "jewishness type worship". I remember as a child having grown up in the Catholic faith remembering "Easter time" services be taught from the pulpit that the Jews killed Jesus.
Now... The Jews did not kill Jesus. If people would read the Bible... they would realize that Jesus took his own life.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Can I ask you, if the commandments were given to the Jewish people at Mt Sini, how did they go from the 613 commandments to the 10 commandments?
The 613 come from all the commands given in the Torah. Over half of them are only for the priests and temple practices. Those other 603 tell you how to carry out the 10
The tassles have always been a commandment to Israel (and those Grafted in) from my point of view. I never thought of it as replacement theology. It is a new theory and I need to consider it. I don't want to disobey a commandment if it is done for the same reason the cancel culture says we cannot eat pineapples on pizza because they are Hawaiian and pizza is Italian. Or that I can't dress up as a Native American. I as a woman like to wear a headwrap much like Jewish women. Am I now considered appropriating the Jewish culture? Things I think needs to be considered as well.
There seems to be an audio disconnect (not live any more)
Fixed, thanks!
Audio on the video is completely borked.
But isn't it interesting that Paul was teaching the Gentiles the Gospel that Christ gave to him. And what was that Gospel that he was teaching them?
7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;
So Peter, who was teaching the Jews... taught the law of circumcision. But Paul was the teaching the Gospel of uncircumcision to the Gentiles. And what happened??? He came back to Galatia and found that these Gentiles were being circumcised. And he told them they were NOT to be circumcised. And what did Paul say to them???
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
Interesting that it was the Jewish members of the Church who wanted the new Gentile members of the church to be circumcised. And they were having them do it as adults. But it was not required of them. Why? That was a covenant between God and Abraham... and his children like sands upon the sea or stars in Heaven... which had nothing to do with the Gentiles.
Always miss the lives, sorry
What of Jacob of whom God changed his name from Jacob to Israel?!
Didn't rabbinic writings begin during the Babylonian exile?
What Bible do you use Dr. Tom?
Dr. Tom is usually using the Tree of Life Version - a Messianic Jewish translation of the Bible.
The New Testament is written in Greek manuscript so meaning the Name of Jesus is "lesous" and not Yeshua in Hebrew name.
I’m a Mexican Pentecostal and I have a sephardic surname. I’m not saying that I have the claim to be Jew, but I’ve always wonder why Jewishness is based on the mother if all of the founders are males? As well as a couple important women, Rahab and Ruth, are gentiles.
Now gentiles and Jews we all belong to Christ. The messianic Jews knows that. And so we do Christians that means fallow commandments rules and gods precepts. Like no mediums no witch craft no talking to spirits no going to the cemetery to often remember your ancestors the first commandments said love your God with all your mind soul and heart.lord Jesus Christ said do the things of my father we go to Heavenly Father in Jesus name.
What is up with the sound? Your lips are moving but I cannot hear anything so I tried watching on my TV same thing no sound🤷♀️
Timothy had to be circumcised to accompany Paul into the places where only Jews were allowed.
I'd submit that Jacob wasn't Jewish because the Jews are the descendants of Judah, Jacob's son. Similarly Noah wasn't semitic because Shem was Noah''s son.
While the term "Jew" does come from the name of Judah, all of Jacob's son's descendants make up the Jewish people - they become the twelve tribes of Israel.
@@Grafted I disagree. The other tribes were called Israelites. Modern people call them Jews. The people from other tribes were called by their tribal names. Ten of the twelve tribes were carried away in captivity, leaving only Judah and Benjamin along with representatives from the other tribes who became known as Jews because lost their identity after 70 AD.
The Apostle Paul knew who he was. He said he was from Benjamin. Did he ever call himself a Jew? The prophetess Anna knew what tribe she belonged to- Asher. Why doesn't scripture call her a Jew? Because she wasn't.
