That was great ! But now I'd like to see you guys suffer a bit. How about... sound Like Porcupine Tree [Gavin Harrison] ? I'd love to see you guys tackling Sound Of Muzak or fear of a blank planet. The dude's a beast
I'd really like to hear a few. Dave Grohl, Sean Kinney, Matt Cameron, Joey Jordison, Jay Weinberg, Dave Abbruzzese, Brad Wilk, those are all I can think of at the moment
Snare reso head tight after only one turn? I probably crank it 2-4 full turns(Or more) so that it's really tight, isn't one turn very low? Great video!
Yeah. I think you have to go at least 2 turns. When I go higher than that though I get terrible ringing overtones and buzz noises. There is definitely "too tight" on a snare reso.
Another good example that 90% of a drummer's sound is the snare, hi-hat and ride. Hi-hat mostly just needs to not suck (the New Beat is the vanilla of pro hi-hats, can never go wrong unless you're trying to be Benny Greb). The fact that the Taylor Hawkins signature snare comes with an Emperor X from the factory helps a lot for this kind of challenge. The shell kit matters little once tuned and close mic'd.
When I used to tour almost every show all the bands would use the same kit, switch out snare and cymbals and it was good to go. Most of a drummers sound was for sure snare and cymbals, especially hats. There was almost always one band who had a drummer who was endorsed by someone and couldn't be seen playing anything else, so we'd just all use that.
I have a Set of Rydeens from early 2005. It’s the set I play the most and I actually gig with. Sound men love them. I own other more expensive kits...which I should sell as I don’t use them. Most of the Expensive high end kits are loud and annoying.
The Rev - Avenged Sevenfold or Morgan Rose - Sevendust both would be amazing to see, and also quite a challenge, might have to up the budgets a smidge to do them ;)
@@widowmaker5544 sorry to tell you man, but they weren't, he tried too much to put his own beat on the song but it turns out that in that way the song loses it's essence, and Taylor is more of a in the pocket drummer, so making a lot of fills based on a drum beat that was made for the particular song it's kinda bad
You can't talk about Foo Fighters without mentioning Dave Grohl at least 10 times, so... What about a Sound like Dave Grohl? I mean, I know Reverb has already done it, but you guys show prices and stuff, which I'm so thankful for.
Matt Helders(Arctic Monkeys), Patrick Carney (Black Keys), QuestLove (The Roots), Larnell Lewis (Snarky Puppy), Steve Jordan (John Mayer Trio) PLEASE!!!
“Sound like Taylor Hawkins” *plays Everlong which is actually Dave Grohl on drums* You guys got a long way to go before you’re as engaging as the guitar “sounds like” guys.
Hey Andertons-Team, really like your Sound Like videos! But i think especially the drum-ones seem a bit too scripted for me. I mean of course you have to think about what to choose in advance, but for example the ride cymbal was swinging on the stand before they even touched it - so i think this proves my point, that the stuff you choose is 100 percent decided in advance. The vibes of your older videos, where I believe not that much was scripted, are much cooler to me - maybe you can cut a little of that scripting and be a bit more spontaneous - that would "smoothen up" the dialogues a little bit as well, I guess ;) ... or at least maybe not try to make it seem like it wasn't scripted and tell something like "hey guys, we have a list of things that we'd like to show you in the store, that are going to make us sound like..." from the beginning - would make it seem a bit more authentic I believe ;) Cheers and keep up the awesome work!
they went to the section where zildjian is (The brand he uses) and went to the a custom section also the stuff taylor uses and theres only like 5 different cymbals they could choose from with these criteria which is why the ride is right in front of them
@@Blakey I know, that's totally cool, but the point I was trying to make is that they already chose what to pick in advance but try to make it seem like they would first find out in the video's "discussion" and I think that doesn't seem too authentic to me ;)
What about sound like a whole band next? Maybe QOTSA or Led Zeppelin. With drums, guitars, bass, synth etc. That would be a fun episode
You can probably find each individual part already
@@soulintake yeah well you couldn't like two years ago when I made that comment

Zac Mcbride Tama Granstar I think?
Sam Haas yep in piano black and fiesta red for the live at the paramount
That grand star had some punch!
The one with the gigantic 14x14 rack Tom and the hi-hat above his head? I’d love to see them do that style kit 😂

This is the best I've ever heard a Rydeen sound, and the best I've heard a kit with stock heads sound. Great video!!
If I had to buy another kit, it would be a Yamaha 100% they are totally underrated!
Matt Cameron from Soundgarden
Please!
Totally didn’t know y’all did drum stuff. This is awesome!
I love my Mapex Mars Crossover 6 piece Drum Set. It's an excellent Kit. I purchased Zildjian S Series Rock Cymbals Pack with Mapex hardware.
That was great ! But now I'd like to see you guys suffer a bit. How about... sound Like Porcupine Tree [Gavin Harrison] ? I'd love to see you guys tackling Sound Of Muzak or fear of a blank planet. The dude's a beast

no you're not
Can you do these with busting the bank I’d like to seem some accurate setups
How to sound like Jon Theodore from Mars Volta or QotSA?
Nice! I've definitely had a good time. Really like that you also show tuning of drums.

Do Lars ulrich or Danny Carey!
Ahaha how to do Denny Carey on the budget :)
Clown from Slipknot. One baseball bat and a keg.
The two aren't even in the same league? Lol
Everything sounds good here drum-wise, the S series cymbals are the one part that just make it sound dirt cheap.

How about Roger Taylor from Queen
Run’s the only song you played remotely close to correct
