If that doesn't make me a coffee in the morning, I am not here for it. These planners are out of the control. A simple one for the dollar store will work. A note book you can write the date on will do.
"A planner isn't subjective to artistic freedom - it's the CALENDAR." Love that line. 😄 I also love that paisley interchangeable cover you made ❤ and I can't wait to see some plan with me's or flip throughs of your super cool planner.
I stumbled upon this video accidentally and watched the entire thing because of how well spoken and how descriptive you were from beginning to end. Well done!
Right? Same here! I was looking for some ideas and I got more than that. I usually would scroll further, but it got ally intention. It was very interesting. Love it. ❤
Totally unbiased here. My planner style is very different from LPA, I’ve never shopped there and I don’t know the owner. My humble opinion… I see both sides. If this were a dated planner I would 100% agree with you, that would be ridiculous. But since it’s undated, I get what she was going for by having all months include the same number of pages. She could have picked 31 instead for sure, and maybe that would be better, that’s why I do see both sides! But personally… the point of an undated planner is so I have freedom. I am an undated lover because of my planner style! I cannot use a daily every single day of my life so therefore I skip around. I use them when I’m most busy or have something scheduled. I would never use all of those dailies in one month, I know some people would, but I think those people would be better suited for a DATED style if they truly need every single day/page. Undated is for freedom - to not use the planner daily and not have to deal with wasted blank pages! That’s the biggest reason I go undated over dated - I hate wasting a page. In my planner one daily page is June 10th and the very next page will be June 15th for example. I also sometimes start a planner randomly (so not in Jan). If I bought this planner and it had the proper number of days for each month and I started it in April for example, I’d be all messed up (if I used one daily every single day, that is). I hope I am making sense! Full respect to your take, just adding mine too. For an undated planner I understand why she chose to just stick with 30 pages of dailies for every month, because most people gravitate towards undated when they plan like I do.. aka need the freedom to skip days and don’t like wasting pages like you would in a dated planner. For someone like you who needs one page per day, I feel like a dated daily would be more suitable (and would save you time in having to date the page since you know you’re going to use one every single day of the year!) You were unsatisfied with a product and deserved a refund so I’m glad you got it! As a self professed undated aficionado, I don’t personally find a lack of page count description misleading. This design is something I would expect in an undated planner having purchased MANY throughout the years. However, not everyone thinks like me, so I think saying that in the description is the safest bet so everyone knows exactly what they are purchasing before they do so. When in doubt, always add as much detail to product descriptions as possible!!
I gave up on "Planners"designed by other people years ago. I started making my own. I do it for relatively low cost, and since I enjoy it, I created my own for work as well. Customized to who I am and what I do. I was frustrated by lack of attention to details by companies that create planners. Besides you know what you need better than anyone else. So you got 2 - 6 month planners for under $30. NICE!
@buggieboss2899 I designed my own pages on my Mac. But there is an incredibly easy way to do one now. Canva has loads of templates to pick from, and elements (pictires designs etc) I used it to create a custom planner for a friend who is very active in our community, and is Mary Kay consultant as well. She loved hers.
I felt like the responses you received were a “live with it” attitude. I love supporting small business but not for something like that. I love that you stood your ground and that you took a crappy situation and used your own creativity to make exactly what you wanted, which, in my opinion, is way better than the original! Awesome job!
Im 2 years late to the party but I’m truly inspired, I’ve bought so many planners and the layout just doesn’t seem to fit my routine or thought process, spent so much money and have a lot of leftover pages lol. Thank you for the motivation.❤
You handled this situation with a lot of class. Thank you for sharing great content with honesty and integrity! And your daily planner is fabulous! You should be proud. Lemonade from lemons 😍
I had the very same issue with another planner company through Amazon. The planner was coiled but the months were not in order and not enough pages for days that have 31 days. The planner months and weeks was literally all over the place.I couldn't make heads or tails with. I was refunded but was asked not to return it. I could not use it and had to throw it out. I was fortunate to find one that works and now very happy with it. You making your own is a fantastic idea.👍
@@talksfromtheheart Your planner looks very functional and easy to work with. If I hadn't already bought a couple of the ones I plan to use next year, I would've definitely waited and bought from you. Best wishes🤗
This is terrific! I appreciate your honesty and choosing your words so carefully! We have too many that rage on about a negative experience without regard. I agree this would not be satisfactory but your approach and resolution showed great character and creativity. Awesome job!!
I am super curious what other buyers thought when they ran out of daily pages on the 31st. Can’t imagine they can stay in business selling something like that and not disclosing that info.
Those are so cool! I’m starting school (at age 55) in the fall and I’m playing with the idea of making my own planner. I’ve never seen a mass produced one that I absolutely love. Yours are great!
Love your own creative planner. I've been wanting to make my own but I'm computer challenged but seeing you do it freehand is giving me motivation. Thank you. Great job!
I will bring out a monthly planner for next year with only 10 months in it, because 10 is a nicer number than 12. Of course I won't tell customers, because strangely, they don't agree with me that 10 months make a full year, so better leave that out in the description. Please don't tell anyone!
I usually just watch your channel and never comment...but... I would have been livid, I'm the type of guy who just says, it's ok, it'll be alright, my word for the year is courage, and I have spoke up a couple of times and it feels good! You were totally in the right to have pointed out the incomplete planner, they're are many people who probably ordered that planner and didn't speak up! I admire your COURAGE...yes I do!!! To the person, who commented about you being a bully...is pure bullshit, you informed us with a wise decision, not to waste our hard earned money! I enjoy watching your channel, keep up with the two thumbs up videos.
Thank you for having to courage to comment! You’re gonna do great! I will pray for you that you have wisdoms when to step Forward and be courageous because that’s a key ingredient. And thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Yeah I left some thoughts under that comment. Thanks for watching.
Your video just happened to pop up on my feed today. I just loved it! Thank you for all the information on how you made your planers. They’re beautiful. I’m feeling inspired! Thanks so much.🤗
Just want to say I appreciate so much that you put this out there because you’re right! That’s not ok, it’s false advertising and honestly it just goes to show the type of shop owner that person is. I make EVERYTHING I want because I just can’t afford the mark ups that some of these shop owners sell things for but when I want to support a shop I do. Rarely is that the case these days due to the greed or lack of honor and decency lately in people. I just don’t understand how some people work or how they think things like what you spoke about would be acceptable to put out there and blatantly falsely represent?! Thank you for always being yourself and for speaking the truth!! Great job on your gorgeous daily planner design!!
This is a very therapeutic video for anyone having a bad day. 😂 That being said, I have yet to find a planner that can organize a person who has a brain that looks like John Nash's secret room in "A Beautiful Mind." I have thought about making my own and printing it out since I have all of the hole punches and everything, and I even have tons of images that I plan to laminate to make dividers and paper for pockets. However, I'm still at a loss for what will actually work for me, starting from chaos. I can't decide if I need a planner or therapy. PS... You can also use Word shapes or even Excel to create a form. In Word, you should be able to add shadows to the shapes. I think there are other programs that will work as well. You can set your page size or print size in the page setup, and all of your lines will be nice and straight and aligned, plus shadows if you choose that option. It might be a bit easier for you. :)
Hi Robin. I appreciate your honesty, so please don’t hold back on topics like this. I look to my RUclips content creators when I consider purchases and more, and your honest reviews are important to me. You mentioned “Raging Robin” - please don’t say that like it is a bad thing! I’ve enjoyed your channel for quite some time 😊
I love your planners, well done :) Can't wait to see how you feel working in them over time :) As someone who has been around the Australian print industry for over 2 decades, I can say with certainty, there is nothing to adding those extra pages. Especially in the smaller planner. 6 pages = 1 A3 print face = 4 pages per A3 print face, so .... 6 pages = 1.5 A3 print pages, that .5 will be absorbed in the overall print run so it's not at all messy. Now, assuming it's a basic print on A3, with standard cuts; it's around $0.26c per A3 sheet, up to $1.50 depending on choice of paper. In a nutshell, even here in Australia, it wouldn't have cost her anything to correct those months to 31 day months; and she could've kept the price at $66 OR, here's an idea, introduce a 2nd product line with the 31 days in there :D Lazy, or .... unfinished printing bothers me, I try to not let it, but it does.
I've used a calendar for over 50 years. The number of days in each month has not changed. All months have 30 days, except for February. Some months even have 31 days. I use my calendar/ planner to determine which months have 31 days.
Back in the ‘80’s we school PTA moms would make planners like this for each teacher as thank you gifts! The cinch machines were electric and a dream to work with. Got us hooked on doing our own❤
BTW you could save the binding fee by using your pages with discs & purchase a disc bound punch. I prefer disc over coils anyway because you can add in sections & rearrange things. I keep sections in my planners beyond the days of the month.
Thank you for all of the information. For your time and honesty. I love your videos because you are real and passionate, not just you personally but about the products you choose. You continually inspire me. Thank you for sharing your geeky love of paper and stickers and for all of the time it takes to make these videos. And to people who leave lengthy comments that challenge you I think that they need to be reminded that your channel is called Talks From The Heart.
Thank you for letting the rest of us planner girls know, Robin. That's the craziest situation I've ever heard. Love your idea. I cant find an affordably priced budget planner I like. Guess what I may try doing?!
Love your creation!!! Our struggles often lead to our breakthroughs. I think your new planner is perfect for you since you laid it out and made it yours. The colorful cover is gorgeous. Enjoy it. Looking forward to seeing it in more videos!
I don't know why anyone would think it is ok to sell planners with missing days. I can understand printing errors and such but she did it on purpose. It's mind-boggling. I am glad you figured something out and I hope she refunds you. Thank you for sharing.
Well done for not raging and keeping polite and clear. You are 100% correct it’s not ok. Once people realise it’s only 30 days no one will buy it so that will be wasteful. That’s such a nonsense argument as they would be printed as batches and could tally all of those extra pages into another rounded batch - ie no waste. In the UK this would be considered a breach of consumer protection regulations as can be solidly argued the product isn’t fit for its intended use.
You have filled my head with ideas! I like weekly layouts. But no planner has just what I want in them. I have played with the idea of going digital and making my own layouts. But I know I would miss the tactile of using paper. I am 73, I love many digital things but... So now I know to spend this year working out exactly what I want. Then for next year I will be ready to go to office depot, that is my only choice in this back water town. I will copy the number of pages I want. Then go home and arrange them for the months and sections I want. Then take that back to have them punch the book and spiral bind it! Now to create a project plan and start planning my pages. I will set a goal of next fall for completion. That gives me time to work around my cancer treatments. I did and sold calligraphy prints in the 80s, so I have experience with dealing with copiers. Thank you.
I 100% agree with you about the whole situation. And your planner design is so simple and beautiful. Personally I would buy that from you. Amazing design job. Love it!!!!!
Yeah Sarah warned me that if I showed it people would want to buy them. But I gave the measurements and honestly it wasn't hard to make. So you should try it! If you need a daily planner. Thanks for watching.
I really appreciate that you made an achievable DIY planner. I always see these as DIY and then it looks so artistic and my stick drawing self can't do anything. So thank you
I went to the buying page today not sure if the update was done in the last 2 days but she directs buyers to watch the VIDEO to see how the planner is laid out. She clearly states 30 Daily Planning Pages in the flip through but I am not sure why she doesn't just add it to the written description. Wanted to thank you for this review it always is nice to be aware of what to expect. Plus this is VERY pricey not to add that extra day in the first place or State it CLEARLY in writing.
The description has been updated and says " we know you don't plan every day, why waste the pages." And then directs people to use the dot grid pages to create a daily page if needed. ???
She went through the trouble to make a video? instead of fixing the root cause of the problem?! Talk about stubborn, hard-headed, rigid, inflexible person...
I found Agendio customizable planner and LOVE it. It’s pricey like this one you’re featuring, but it is 100% custom and you preview before you order. Nothing but happy with it. Thanks for the heads up on this brand.
This was soooooo creative. Look how a situation of lemons can turn into lemonade 🍋. I had thought about making my own planner cause the ones I saw in the stores weren't always what I liked.
The website has been updated to say that there's only 30 days a month, but not without a sarcastic remark about how no one plans every day and it's preventing waste 🙄
She was totally unprofessional! Reminds me of a 12 year old trying to write mafia plots on WhatsApp... I blame it on the politics in the school system! (Having seen behind the seens, just how bad it can get from an inside perspective!) She really should have just apologized for the inconvenience and fixed the planners to accommodate 31 days!
Hello Robin! As a maker from time to time for friends and myself i can tell you that i would be angry to pay that price and not having all the days: a daily planner has to be based on the calendar, that's it, there's nothing they can argue against like they did. But in the end i am very proud that you made inserts that suits you better with all the days you needed: bravo!
This is so funny. That's how I found you- through this video- I wrote you to use a ring planner-and now you tell that your ring planner is your main planner. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can't NOT hold myself- I TOLD YOU SO - 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Glad you put this out there, I will steer clear of that non sense. Your much better than I because I’d bad review that everywhere. Who in their right mind can say having 30 days in a month is ok? Not sure how that shop is still in business!
I also had a hard time to find a planner that meet my needs. I tried to make my own and I could not turn it into something decent. The photocopying was all off. I tried to copy it myself. I gave up until I found a planner that meet my needs. The problem with the planner that meet my needs is that it is in USA and I am in Canada. It cost me a fortune in shipping and exchange rate on the Canadian dollar. I purchased it 2 year in a row and still LOVE it. I no longer want to pay $150 Canadian dollars for a planner. This year I have a cinch machine and a printer, that I didn't have before. You gave me the confidence to try again.
I’ve always heard that you should always over deliver but these people have under delivered or in fact short changed their customers, totally unacceptable. You handled it well and came up with a beautiful alternative. Good Job!
This is marvelous! I need to make my own planner to accommodate what I need to have in a planner. I am so proud of you. Thank you so very much for sharing.
I love your solution! It looks AWESOME. And it's so much better getting something you've made and for a fraction of the cost of what it's replacing! You're such an inspiration! :)
I love your planner. I'm in the frustrated stage right now. I've had planners before. My life changed so much, that I felt the planner wasn't needed. HA! It's been THREE years, in which time I retired from doing home daycare, had two knee surgeries and an arm surgery. My husband has also had some medical issue develop. I was between not having any energy to do the stuff I should have done, much less depress about planning to do it and failing. 3 years later, I am coming out of a blue brain funk. I need a planner to not tell me what to do, but encourage me as to what I did and be proud of it, so I want to do more. I seriously was going to buy a planner. I looked on line, but really wanted to touch and see it in person. I went to a variety of stores. I just couldn't FEEL it. I'm here to day, looking at ideas to make my own. I have no problem using some of the parts from older planners, but over all, I need something that I can call home for myself.
I make my own planners, as well. I use Excel to create the page layouts, including a monthly grid, then save as a .pdf file. I open that with Preview (the pdf program that is standard on Mac). In that program I can copy and paste pages to get the correct number of days per month, add or delete pages, etc. Then, when I have the pages laid out the way I like them, I save the file and close it out. Then I open it with Adobe Acrobat and print using the Booklet setting (Preview doesn't have this option). My printer doesn't automatically print both sides of the sheet, so I I have to run the paper through twice. It's pretty simple though. I choose the option to print the fronts only, then put the paper back in and choose the option to print the backs only. I print only one month at a time so if something isn't correct I haven't messed up the entire year. I love being able to create a planner that is specific to my needs.
I’m new to the system, and also elderly and low income. I wanted to play with the big kids with the pretty planners, wallets, envelopes, etc. But getting into budgeting would cost nearly $200. Counter productive. Nope. Going through my stuff, I found an old composition book and made it into my planner. Not as many pages, but when it’s full I’ll just get another one. And I found some tiny envelopes and made them into cash counters to get money from the bank. And it turns out I’ve gotta ton of stickers, no idea why or where they came from. My life is pretty simple-I love retirement!-and it works for me. Good for you for making your system.
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing your experience with the seller. Moreover, thank you for showing us how we can overcome this type of challenge by making our planner to meet our needs.
This is really cute. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but at least you were able to make something that is functional for you. I never thought of laminating something to put as a cover for my printed planner. Thanks for the great ideas!
LPA updated the description (it’s bad 😂). The shop really just threw away the 31st of several months AND updated the description to say “we know you don’t plan everyday” 🥴 Who in their right mind wants to be charged full price for an incomplete product??? 🥴
Wow. I used to get planners for decades, (before the internet even), from Day Timers. You could Select the type of layout you wanted, one page spread per month, per week, one day across two pages spread, or a single day per page. I used to do the full 2 pages per day. And you could select which hours. I really wish they had a 24 hour format because there ARE 24 hours in a day. I got the closest to that I could find. It still focused on the 9-5 day, which I had for work, but I used it for all day and non work things too. You could select the size of the pages, from small pocket size to full binder size. You could select the type of binding. You could select the cover. Add extra pages and features, get personalized note paper. You had a spot daily to track expenses, and a monthly spot at the end of each month to total things. It was designed for travel expenses reimbursement, like meals, mileage, hotels etc. But I used it to keep track of every penny I spent. It was my backup brain. And it was predated. So if I made a dentist appointment 6 months out, I could flip to that long range planner and pencil it in. By the time a new month started, it already had so many things written in there. IF they're still doing planners, they're only online now. There used to be some limited formats available in some office supply stores. Depending on the format, you could choose which month for it to start. I loved the little features like the moon phases being shown, the holidays listed, which day of the year and how many days left in the year... I tried bullet journaling but I had to create the calendar. We already have an existing calendar each year. I admire people who can do that with the fancy artwork. But for me, the whole idea of planning is to better manage your time, not to waste time
I am so happy that you went to length and explained what happened. At least they will act professional moving forward. A nd you have also inspired me to be pro-active in my queries and finding solutions when I am not happy with a product
I made my own planner in 2020 and 2022 with a $2.50 sketch book from Walmart. I love those planners. Between those years, I found other pretty planners with a black cover and floral pattern. If I needed something extra, I just added a page. I added my own tabs as I did with the planners I made. I couldn't find the right "floral on black" planner for 2025, so I decided to make my own again. I actually found a blank sketch book at home with a black cover. I treated myself and spent a little more on stickers than I probably should have. The last planners I made were fandom tributes, so I printed pictures for a different fandom each month. I love flipping through those planners. The first thing that came to mind with this situation was "Yikes"! I would have just returned the $66 planners from the get go; however, that is my own personal opinion.
Being forced to be independent with projects gives me grit to get it done. I am thankful that I found this video because I was beginning to struggle with the question "Can I really print, use, and perhaps even give away personal planners that I can customize to my liking or say, friends likings? I just began using planners after deciding to ditch the digital (phone calendar/apps) due to my own lack of discipline..... When I pick up my phone to schedule/add tasks/etc, I would spend more time on my phone than I needed and it just did not suit me. Even with reminders (hear me out) I WOULD SWIPE AND FORGET! So I bought a year planner from good ole Mart of Walls and found one I enjoy. BUT, with every planner I've seen on shelves, there is at least ONE thing missing that I desire. The thought of making my own comes just after one month of having the one I bought. And, I've decided that if I can make one, I would LOVE to share and customize for friends/peers/ and even coworkers if it suits them. I like that your video is honest, as respectful as it can be, and gives helpful tips. I'll probably have to watch it again and others for more inspiration and then get started. I'll have to find out how I can get mine binded locally, I thought I would have to do that myself..... If I can I may even do that. Thanks!
This is great! Yes! Go for it and just map it out slowly. Fed ex, Office Depot, copy works may choices of places that have print centers that will bind it for you. Have fun!
I think it would be so cool if you got round corner cutters and just punched it when you get to a certain page, that way you get the rounded corners and have some kind of subtle bookmark! But wow this is so cool, I hadn't thought of making my own before! Also she added an additional note to the listing clarifying that there's only 30 days, and then added "you need a day or two off!" "You won't use it everyday!" Like dang, just give the right amount of days lol
Thank you for this. I've been frustrated with planners EVERY YEAR. I end up with one for work and one for the house. I'll definitely be making my own for 2025😍🤩
I buy perfect one year planners at Winners for from $7 - $12 dollars. They have beautiful covers, fountain pen friendly pages and extra pages for notes. My son was upset that I didn’t get the $Store planner. So glad that I found these planners about 10 years ago. I hope they continue to carry them for the rest of my life. 💕🥰💕.
I just discovered your video, and I must say, I am very impressed with you and how you handled this matter, and yourself. I love your planners! You did a fabulous job! I am a fan! Hello from Escondido, CA (40 miles North of San Diego) I subscribed!!
Thank you for sharing this. I am going to be honest I never really thought about counting the days to make sure they were all there. I had always taken the last day and moved it to the next month witch always bugged me, I always thought it was my fault and "I" counted wrong. I love the way your planner turned out and you have inspired me to try and do one myself. Can't wait to see some PWM's using your planner. Hope you have an amazing weekend...
Love this. All I can think is that when you get to month 4… you might want to have rebound so that you have many months in the future isn’t he planner - since it’s so easy to have that part done. (That way you aren’t carrying around 2 planners in the summer.) OR - have a few pages at the end where you can write the future dates of things without having to look at the future planner??? Such a GREAT idea!
$27 Lol - doing it yourself is so much fun and You did a great job at this. And they are very pretty and easy to use. I like the note page.. congrats 🎉!!
Nice work! A huge achievement. I know the work involved because I've been making my own planners for years now using Print Shop Publisher Pro. It's not the best software but VERY easy to use. Once you have your template and EXACTLY centered on your page, I run the pages through printer for the other side. I make A5 size. Sometimes I bind myself and sometimes I use a 3 ring binder. I never make them with printed dates. Over the years I've customized for my life at the time. I'm on meds now and so I added a space for checking off those along with exercise and water intake. Special space for the three most essential tasks of the day is key for me. I target those tasks and (if possible) get them checked off asap. I made a dashboard insert that works as a book mark too. I cut it out from a Dollar tree cutting mat and use same material for over front and back covers when I spiral bind. A zippered pouch insert holds my pens and sticky notes. Everyone's needs are different and changes in our lives happen. However, last time I checked, we all have the same amount of days in a year. 😁
For what its worth, I invested in the disc ring punch & the wire binding punch tool by We R Makers. I would bet over half of us have a laminator. I have been making my own planner books for a while now. I also have made art journal books, and a science journal for my 13 yo, a writer's journal for my16yo, and more. I just purchased a set or two journal stencils off of amazon. It might be a trial & error, but it will be mine and much cheaper that some of these manufactured planners.
I had the same thing happen with a completely different planner a few years ago and it irked me too! Great job on your custom planner! ❤ ((Hugs)) from small town Iowa.
Wow! Beautiful planners! While my story isn’t quite the same as yours, I, too, decided to make my own planner! I tried EC and looked at some others, but they were full of sections I never use, and way too expensive! I wanted an 8.5x11 binder type system that was simple. So I designed my own and published it on Amazon! Much cheaper, totally functional for me, and allows me to keep one binder and switch out the pages every year! 🥰. Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s important to have quality reviews of products and shops to consider when investing in something that will be a part of everyday life!
That is great!!! I have found that the easiest way (for me) to make something double sided is to print another page, cut the new page to size (so make two since you are doing two spreads per page). Take those and glue them directly to your master on the other side in the area that you want them. Then you can make a two sided new master. I hope that makes sense. I also made my own planner pages that I'm going to use for work next school year (not enough time left this year to make one). I also disc bind mine just because it's easier and I can do it all in my house...but I also will not have that many pages.
Hi Robin! First...What nice handwriting you have! Second... you are correct, every month should have 31 pages and Third... kudos on designing your own planner.
Kool video. I am a plannerholic. I have kept a planner each year since high school, 1983. Long time, I know. I want to make my own but don't have the patience. While you and I have totally different idea, I'm proud you have taken the time to construct what you want n need. You go girl. Excellent!!! Now to my understanding you can go to canva and play around with this planner. Again, great job, you inspired me to make this another 2023 project. I do stickers too!~!! Omg, I ordered one from Amazon this year. An appointment book, but I need n want so much more. It took me 9 hours yesterday to write all my bday, anniv., and events, ect w/sickers to get that baby set up n running. I choose a hard back so less damage with my roughness. Too Kool, Be Brave!!
I got a planner one time that only had 11 months and since I didn't end up using it for a year, I was poop out a luck. I'll use it eventually. I like making my own 1/2 letter size sheets and I put them in a small 3 ring binder. I might try taking them to a copy place too. I ❤️ coils. Thanks for that idea. Sorry you had issues with an order.
I think you’re right on the money with your responses to all aspects of this situation from the lack of calendar accuracy to the curt “it is what it is” response…not the least aggravating of which would have been spending your time planning daily through the initial month of January only to find yourself a day short. Even undated, you need an accurate number of monthly pages. Though disappointing, at least you were offered the option of returning the product and receiving a refund. In the planner community, reviews about products, service and attitude can either bloom or burst a small business and I can see that planners would certainly skip the purchase of an intentionally flawed item. As you said “It’s the CALENDAR”.
I appreciate this video so much. It would never have occurred to me to count the pages in a planner. I love your creativity and determination. Can't wait to see the flip-throughs as you use your new daily planner!!
I’ve received my refund in full and am grateful that this.
I love how your planner turned out!!!! I wonder if the listing ever got updated!!
@Maggie Mcdaniel wow. Really what an idiotic thing to say.
@@Countrygirlmags😮😮oh my gosh she did not say that. ! Wow that’s pretty sad.
For $66 that thing better be planning my day for me and doing half my chores 😅 I'm glad that you got a refund!
🤣 Riiiight!
🤣🤣🤣
If that doesn't make me a coffee in the morning, I am not here for it. These planners are out of the control. A simple one for the dollar store will work. A note book you can write the date on will do.
"A planner isn't subjective to artistic freedom - it's the CALENDAR." Love that line. 😄
I also love that paisley interchangeable cover you made ❤ and I can't wait to see some plan with me's or flip throughs of your super cool planner.
Love that line, too!
That it the PERFECT line 😂💗
I stumbled upon this video accidentally and watched the entire thing because of how well spoken and how descriptive you were from beginning to end. Well done!
Thank you so much!
Exactly what I was coming to say!!
Right?
For someone like you who needs one page per day, I feel like a dated daily would be more suitable (and would save you time in having to date the page since you know you’re going to use one every single day of the year!)
You were unsatisfied with a product and deserved a refund so I’m glad you got it!
Wow! This video is so old I didn’t know people were still watching it. Thanks for watching.
I’m watching it now! 😁
NICE!
I made one too! (^•^) How did you make yours?
@buggieboss2899 I designed my own pages on my Mac.
But there is an incredibly easy way to do one now. Canva has loads of templates to pick from, and elements (pictires designs etc)
I used it to create a custom planner for a friend who is very active in our community, and is Mary Kay consultant as well.
Wow! That sounds worse than my situation.
@@talksfromtheheart Your planner looks very functional and easy to work with. If I hadn't already bought a couple of the ones I plan to use next year, I would've definitely waited and bought from you. Best wishes🤗
the big message here is how you turned the anger to productiveness ... constructive anger and im proud of you too,,,
Thank you. I agree. Got blamed for trying to stir up drama but if people are truly paying attention I didn’t do that at all. Just made lemonade😂
When life gives Robin lemons, she makes new planners 🍋.
😂❤️
I enjoyed this video. You really made lemonade out of the lemons you got and you made your own beautiful planner 😊
This is terrific! I appreciate your honesty and choosing your words so carefully! We have too many that rage on about a negative experience without regard. I agree this would not be satisfactory but your approach and resolution showed great character and creativity. Awesome job!!
Thank you. I wanted to rant but honestly what would be the point.
Thank you and I hope school goes well for you.
Love your own creative planner. I've been wanting to make my own but I'm computer challenged but seeing you do it freehand is giving me motivation. Thank you. Great job!
Did you end up making one? 🙂
You should be proud of your new planner. It’s awesome!
Thank you for telling us about your consumer experience. It was enlightening, to say the least.
Thank you so much!
I will bring out a monthly planner for next year with only 10 months in it, because 10 is a nicer number than 12. Of course I won't tell customers, because strangely, they don't agree with me that 10 months make a full year, so better leave that out in the description. Please don't tell anyone!
Hahaha!
😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
Actually made me laugh
I will pray for you that you have wisdoms when to step
Forward and be courageous because that’s a key ingredient. And thank you for your kind words and encouragement. Yeah I left some thoughts under that comment. Thanks for watching.
That is where the saying 'Necessity is the mother of invention' comes from!!! Glad you got your money back and I admire your creativity!
Yes! Thank you! I agree!
As Plato said Necessity is the Mother of Invention, you created some awesome planners. Congratulations!
Yes! Thank you!
We all need some therapy❤️ and maybe try to make your own for just a month and see how it goes. Thanks for watching.
Did you end up making one? 🙂
Hi Robin. I appreciate your honesty, so please don’t hold back on topics like this. I look to my RUclips content creators when I consider purchases and more, and your honest reviews are important to me. You mentioned “Raging Robin” - please don’t say that like it is a bad thing! I’ve enjoyed your channel for quite some time 😊
I love your planners, well done :) Can't wait to see how you feel working in them over time :)
As someone who has been around the Australian print industry for over 2 decades, I can say with certainty, there is nothing to adding those extra pages.
In a nutshell, even here in Australia, it wouldn't have cost her anything to correct those months to 31 day months; and she could've kept the price at $66 OR, here's an idea, introduce a 2nd product line with the 31 days in there :D
Lazy, or .... unfinished printing bothers me, I try to not let it, but it does.
I worked for a printing company for ten years, I feel every piece of this comment!
Well this time it was facts
Thanks for sharing your story. I would have never thought to check, but I will from now on. I can't believe this was even an issue.
wonderful and very creative solution thanks for sharing your own planner! Way to go! xoxo lori
You are the bomb. How awesome to take a bad situation and turn it around for a positive result. You did the right thing. Very proud of you.
Thank you.
Thank you for letting the rest of us planner girls know, Robin. That's the craziest situation I've ever heard. Love your idea. I cant find an affordably priced budget planner I like. Guess what I may try doing?!
Have you looked at Plum Paper? I’ve been using them for three years now, and they give the best quality for the price.
For that price!😱😱
Well done for not raging and keeping polite and clear. You are 100% correct it’s not ok. Once people realise it’s only 30 days no one will buy it so that will be wasteful. That’s such a nonsense argument as they would be printed as batches and could tally all of those extra pages into another rounded batch - ie no waste. In the UK this would be considered a breach of consumer protection regulations as can be solidly argued the product isn’t fit for its intended use.
Very well said. As I say in the video…it’s the calendar! You can’t just decide to change it! Thanks for watching.
So thank you
Thank you so much!
Also, I mean, it's a planner. You can expect the number of months to change, but not the number of days per month XD
Thank you for the brand suggestion we always appreciate that.
This was soooooo creative. Look how a situation of lemons can turn into lemonade 🍋. I had thought about making my own planner cause the ones I saw in the stores weren't always what I liked.
Thx yes it’s 100% achievable to make your own
Thank you for sharing your process. I would never have thought of something like this. Very inventive. I love it.
You made an absolutely Beautiful Planner. I love it. Very Inspirational. Thank you for sharing.
The website has been updated to say that there's only 30 days a month, but not without a sarcastic remark about how no one plans every day and it's preventing waste 🙄
Yeah we are not the only two who were not impressed with her weak effort to add "wording" to make the customer aware.
She was totally unprofessional! Reminds me of a 12 year old trying to write mafia plots on WhatsApp... I blame it on the politics in the school system! (Having seen behind the seens, just how bad it can get from an inside perspective!)
She really should have just apologized for the inconvenience and fixed the planners to accommodate 31 days!
Oh good! Yes finding the right one can be hard sometimes. Good luck!
I’ve always heard that you should always over deliver but these people have under delivered or in fact short changed their customers, totally unacceptable. You handled it well and came up with a beautiful alternative. Good Job!
I agree!
This is marvelous! I need to make my own planner to accommodate what I need to have in a planner. I am so proud of you. Thank you so very much for sharing.
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this idea! I love it! It has inspired me!! Thank you
Just have to say I am sorry this happened but also glad it did...your planner is adorable!
Yes, just use what you have and have fun! Thanks for watching.
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing your experience with the seller. Moreover, thank you for showing us how we can overcome this type of challenge by making our planner to meet our needs.
Thanks for watching!
This is really cute. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but at least you were able to make something that is functional for you. I never thought of laminating something to put as a cover for my printed planner. Thanks for the great ideas!
LPA updated the description (it’s bad 😂).
The shop really just threw away the 31st of several months AND updated the description to say “we know you don’t plan everyday” 🥴
Who in their right mind wants to be charged full price for an incomplete product??? 🥴
IT'S EXHAUSTING! And so lazy on her part. Just fix it! It's a cute layout.
But for me, the whole idea of planning is to better manage your time, not to waste time
I love the way you talk, you say it as it is. Great self-made planner
Thank you!
I am so happy that you went to length and explained what happened. At least they will act professional moving forward. A nd you have also inspired me to be pro-active in my queries and finding solutions when I am not happy with a product
Thank you!
That's such a cool idea. I honestly had not thought of taking my own to do to bond it. Thanks
Thanks for posting this, very helpful in deciding which planner shop to spend my money with.
I love how you do your measurements! I’m the same way. I also love how you made your planner. Thanks for sharing.
Have fun!
@talksfromtheheart thanks
Ohhhhh your planners are beautiful. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment with them!!!! ♥️
I agree
Welcome aboard! And thank you for the kind words.
Thank you for sharing your story! I love how your planner's came out so very cute!
I am thrilled you were able to come out of this situation with a big positive!!!
thanks
Thank you for sharing this. I am going to be honest I never really thought about counting the days to make sure they were all there. I had always taken the last day and moved it to the next month witch always bugged me, I always thought it was my fault and "I" counted wrong.
I love the way your planner turned out and you have inspired me to try and do one myself. Can't wait to see some PWM's using your planner. Hope you have an amazing weekend...
I COUNTED THREE TIMES CAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS LOSING IT! UGH!
The listing description has been updated saying that there is only 30 days per month and that customers should take a day or two off. lol
Yeah that is so snarky.
Thank you❤️
Talk about a self-sufficient win! Nothing like empowerment!
Thank you!
I LOVE your planner. You did a great job. And I am so HAPPY you got your full refund.
Me too! Thank you!
I should get the we r makers one I have the others and yes if we can’t find it we can make
It.
I had the same thing happen with a completely different planner a few years ago and it irked me too!
Great job on your custom planner! ❤
((Hugs)) from small town Iowa.
Thanks so much! 😊. Yeah she fixed it like a year later! Don’t know what took her so long to do so. Thx for watching.
You are a freaking genius! I love your solution!
Thank you for sharing in detail how you designed it, I’m thinking about doing something similar.
I love the planner pages and setup you made, what a beautiful cover too
Thank you.
Hi Robin! First...What nice handwriting you have! Second... you are correct, every month should have 31 pages and Third... kudos on designing your own planner.
Thank you❤️
Thank you!
So glad you received a refund! Your new planners look fabulous 😍🎉❤
Girl, that turned out awesome!
You know the old saying, necessity is the mother of invention.
I'd be furious too! Your solution was soooo cute! Good for you sticking up for what's right!
I LOOOOOVE your new planner!!!! I want all the set ups!
You did great. I am glad you found daily planner peace.
This is why I'm moving into a Discbound planner. Printing out what I want is a lot easier then buying something and being stuck with it.
