The gypsy horse is the most beautiful horse in the world. It is bred to be bomb proof. It's personality is amazing. It's intelligence second to none. I have just bought my third rescue gypsy horse in the UK and they make my life worth living.
In the 1950 's in England I watched Gypsy caravans come and camp across from my Grandmother's home in a field on London on North Circular Road. It was a thrill.
Many yrs back a friend &I were driving south of Stow on the Wold (UK).We got into traffic which is extremely unusual for this area. Lorries, caravans & pickups and sev gypsy caravans parked in the grass.Narrow road.We lucked out and came across a fair,to buy, sale, etc. Many beautiful horses!Of course,no camera handy.Nancy (See & Shop England ).
Just breathtaking I wish they would of not inner breed my Granddaughter loves horses and about 2 1/2 yrs ago we were watching a video about horses there was 15 of them and she was so excited when she saw the painted horses then when she saw Gypsy Vanner she told her Mom and Dad that she was going to get a lot of them and raise them and kiss and hug them everyday she said so many kiss and hugs they will want to run away we all thought that was so funny my Granddaughter was 4 at the time ✌❤to y'all
My dream would be to have a beautiful ranch house in the mountains of Costa Rica with a gorgeous view of the Pacific and other mountains, and to own some Gypsies to keep there! I think they're the most magnificent creatures on earth, although I love animals and birds of all kinds and many are truly beautiful as well. LOVE THIS VIDEO!!
hahahaha....... They ARE a lot of work, we have a Gypsy Vanner gelding named Hollywood and it's a lot of work to keep the hair braided and clean, more so than our other horses. Thanks for your comment!
A large beautiful green farm isn't exactly what I picture when I think of Coatsville PA....but perhaps it's on the outskirts of town somewhere? If there IS one there, then perhaps they SELL gypsy vanners and I won't have to drive all the way to NC to get one after all!
We filmed this in Coatsville, PA several years ago, but since then they have dispersed the horses. There are many Vanner owners in the Northeast where you wouldn't have to go to the Carolinas, although Stillwater Farm in Cashiers, NC has some excellent horses and bloodlines- worth the trip. You can find a North American Directory at this link: vanners.org/pdf_post/membership-list-by-location/
Every country has things that are not common elsewhere, and it's perfectly understandable and acceptable that they find enjoyment and value in them. The abundance of something in one country has nothing to do with the availability anywhere else. That being said, there are plenty of owners of proper cobs in England who realize what an amazingly special horse they have at their fingertips and consider them to be priceless no matter how many there are. :)
Was that Sean Connery narrating, starting at the 6:48 point? It sounded very much like him, even if it wasn't. I know he's dead now, but I thought it might be from some documentary he narrated. Loved this video. I'd never heard of these horses before this past week. I'd seen them in pictures for nearly 50 years, but I never thought about the breed before.
Sean Connery is not dead, very much alive. We used a Canadian voice talent, Scott Smith to do the narration for the Appleby Gypsy Horse Fair TV Episode on HorseTVToday.com . He does a pretty close Sean Connery delivery!
@@HorseTVGlobal I'm glad he's still alive, I must have been thinking of someone else. Yes, this guys voice is very close. I originally thought for a moment that it might be an impression, but I mostly just thought you'd grabbed something that fit from a documentary Mr Connery did or something, and was hoping I wasn't going to get you in trouble by mentioning it, lol. I actually almost deleted that bit about Sean because I thought it might get you in trouble. That's how good his impression was. Oh well, it's sorted out now. Loved the horses.
I can't believe that the people that brought the Gypsy Vanner to the USA were not showcased in this clip. Dennis Thompson and his farm Gypsy Gold in Ocala, Florida. Quite the oversight.
Not an oversight, we feature several Gypsy Vanner farms and ranches across the country in our TV Series on their individual respective program. Dennis was featured in a collaborative effort with Magnolia Ranch's episode as one of our very first features many years ago, to share the history and vision of the breed; and we are working on updating his own individual episode with us.
Lovely ponies they are, I have two boys. In Britain it's a sorry state, there has been so much over breeding everyone has jumped on the bandwagon so to speak, there are so many now that you can buy them for a few pounds and some people are even giving them away! There are many needing good homes here :(
thats to bad their ruining the breed then, mixing and then nobody wants them :( how sad. I think they're lovely horse first I see this breed this year and had 3 my own years ago now :)
I noticed that in most of the US bred Gyspy's the beard appears to be gone that is a hallmark of the breed. Are they shaving it off or has it been intentionally bred out? That's part of what attracts me to this breed, it's too bad they seem to not have them.
Hermoso. Me gustaría tener uno. Si este mensaje lo Lee una persona muy rica, quiero pedirle que me regale uno. Yo vivo en Colombia. Y acá hay pocos. Me gustaría citarlos. Y tener una docena de ellos..😃😀
sometimes itg gets really annoying when people say that they cant jump because believe it or not the gypsy vanner is a light horse i know because i have a book.
Where are you posing your question to? I'd like to suggest that you go to www.vanners.org . and select MEMBERSHIP and then MEMBERSHIP LIST BY NAME, where you will find hundreds of farms and ranches and their contact information by state, so you may start with what is closest to you. Hope this helps.
HorseFlicks thank you very much for your comment no I see people post all the time here about animals they have for sale and never get back to anyone and then when you look it's like 2 years old the video of the horse I'm just absolutely in love with this breed they're so beautiful
They are beautiful and have a kind and willing temperament. We have one in our own mix, and they are fun to be around. The hair is a lot of upkeep compared to other breeds, but that's what's special about a Gypsy.
Beautiful horses. I felt so sorry for that baby at 7:26 trying to run along behind that ugly caravan. That is cruel. If it fell it would be dragged. People need to use their heads

At least half of the horses in this video are seriously overweight, especially the ones in the beginning of the video. Yes, Gypsy Vanners are a sturdy breed, but they should get a diet which is very low in energy. Cut it with the sweet feed!

Excellent Presentation of such a Fine Breed,
My gypsy mare is a dream come true. I love her personality and how she carries herself. She is just a wonderful example of a awesome breed.

Horses are beautiful creatures, but the Gypsy Vanner would bring tears of envy to even an Akal-Teke!
Beautiful, beautiful horses! ❤️
Would have enjoyed learning more about them from the video. So fun to watch!

Can't breed the "beard" out of a horse. For shows, it's clipped.
I wish I could a ford one
